* Video marketing will interest and convince website visitors who want information about your law firm before they decide to contact you.
* Search engine optimization is essential for any law firm website as thousands of people are searching online for an attorney. It is the foundation on which internet marketing is built.

How to Turn Your Regular Mobile Phone Into a Mobile Email Tool More Powerful Than a Blackberry

How to Turn Your Regular Mobile Phone Into a Mobile Email Tool More Powerful Than a Blackberry

Having your email accessible in the palm of your hand while you’re mobile is no longer a dream nowadays. With the advent of new technology like Blackberry, now a person can go anywhere he likes and still have access to the all important emails being sent to his email address.

Unfortunately, a Blackberry service is not cheap. And the handsets themselves are quite pricey compared to standard mobile phones. These restrictions have made Blackberry a tool for those people with a lot of extra cash to spend on their monthly phone bills, and not for the rest of the world who are not so lucky.

Well, at least until now..

Nowadays, most middle-end mobile phones has their own built in email application that you can use to read and send your emails on the go.

However, there are some big drawbacks in using the standard mobile phone email application that downloads your emails from your email server to your mobile phone, which are:

- Mobile internet connection fee is more expensive compared to your regular home/office internet connection. If you typically receive several hundreds of kilobytes to several megabytes worth of emails in your inbox daily, than downloading all your emails to your mobile phone means emptying your wallet – fast.

- The processing capability and memory capacity of mobile phones are limited. Usually a native mobile phone email applications will be able to store only until 100 or so emails. If the number of stored emails is bigger than that, the performance will become irritatingly slow and almost impossible to use.

Then, how can you achieve email performance that is better than Blackberry (as the title of this article mentions)? it’s simply a matter of choosing the right free (yes, free) java email application for your mobile phone which offers the right kind of free service (yes, again.. free service) to store and manage your emails.

It’s actually quite easy to turn your mobile phone into a phone that is capable of very powerful mobile email functionalities such as:

- Checking your emails and sending them while on the move.

- Archiving of gigabytes worth of emails. You can do this even from an old cracked phone like my Motorola Razr V3.

- Search through your gigantic email database within seconds. Looking for an old email from your old friend Sam? Now you can do it from your mobile phone within seconds.

- Having an advanced spam filter right in your mobile phone. Spams will go where they belong, in the trash bin, without you ever needing to sort them out manually

- Very efficient bandwidth usage. Imagine forwarding an email you receive with 8 MB attachment to a coleague or friend using only several kilobytes worth of your mobile data plan. Impossible? think again.. you’ll love it when you try it.

Believe it or not, all these features can be added to your mobile phone for free, provided that it support java and already have a mobile data/internet plan active.

Interested? Here’s basically how you can do it:

1. Install an email java application for mobile phone that can retrieve POP3 emails from your mail server. Do a search on google for “java mobile phone email application” and you’ll get a lot of programs that can do this for free. Remember the rule I mention above that the application has to provide the right kind of service? From all the java applications you find in this step, choose only the application that stores all your emails in its own server, not in your mobile phone. This will enable you to search through gigabytes of email archive within seconds (now that’s what I call mobile email power!).

2. Setup your email client in your office/home computer to leave messages on mail server after emails have been downloaded

3. Set your email client in your office/home computer to delete messages from mail server only after 5 days

Some note: email client means the email program you’re using on your home/office computer to read and send emails. It can be Microsoft Outlook/Outlook Express, Eudora, The Bat, etc.

Well.. basically that’s it! That’s what you have to do to be able to read your home/office email while on the go, on your mobile phone.

Remember, the most important thing is step 1. You must choose a mobile java application that stores the emails in its server.

Do you want a detailed step-by-step free book on “How to turn your regular mobile phone into an email tool more powerful than Blackberry”? you can download it at Mobile Email Manual

How Good Web Design Can Turn Bad

How Good Web Design Can Turn Bad

Recently we were asked to quote on a website for a dentist, just across town from our Perth web design studio. Now this dentist already had a website which was ranking extremely well. In addition, the design of the website had been professionally put together. But despite being in the top five listings and attracting a significant amount of traffic, the amount of new business generated from the website was meagre.

I had a sense, very quickly as to what the problem was but needed to do further research to confirm. For more details go to www.10-website-programming-tricks.com. Through my research, I discovered that my client was not alone in his industry with the overwhelming theme for dental websites being one of cheesy smiles from all ages and flashy changing graphics.

From my point of view, many of the dentist websites simply came across as fake and full of stock photography. They left me feeling worried that if I went to see that dentist that I was dealing with somebody who was all about marketing and may not be the best dentist around – OUCH!.

The real underlying issue here is trust, or more to the point – a lack of it. You must understand that when you design a website you must make sure that you do everything you can to generate the maximum amount of trust from your prospective customers.

If the website generates trust, then it will give the customer the confidence required to commit to making a buying decision (In this instance – making an appointment). Now, what had gone wrong is that the web developers had focused more on trying to get across the fact that this dentist was technologically advanced by putting together a flashy website. More flash = more impressive: WRONG!. What the end result was, however, is that the website completely undermined trust in his services, because it gave the impression of an over sell and in the medical profession this is a definite no-no.

Interestingly, to back up this suspicion the dentist then told me a story about someone who was referred to him by a patient. “Go and see my dentist because he is excellent” was the referral from the existing patient. But before acting on the referral, the prospective patient, checked out the dentist’s website, which prompted him to ask his friend. “Are you sure about this guy?”.

What had happened is that the website had undermined the trust that had been set up by the friend of referral. You can also visit us at www.29web-design-tricks.com. Fortunately, in this instance, he had checked with his friend who told him to forget about the website and go and see the dentist. But how many other referrals were scared off by a website that appeared to oversell the person or service?

The lesson here is to make sure that when you are designing a website that you take into consideration, your specific target markets expectations about your industry and design to the psychology of that market and its expectations. Medical professionals should definitely not try to oversell themselves and be aware that an overuse of flash and stock photography can undermine trust and be detrimental to your business.

We subsequently found out that the client’s wife had hated his web site. Maybe next time he will listen to her.

Conversion Rates: How To Turn Traffic Into Sales With High Quality Web Design Solihull

Conversion Rates: How To Turn Traffic Into Sales With High Quality Web Design Solihull

It is essential for business clients that your web design Solihull turns traffic generated by an SEO campaign into sales of their products and services. This is especially the case with small businesses, whose operations live or die by the quality and ultimately success of their website. A high conversion rate equals a healthy company.

So let’s break it down. All the necessary SEO work has been completed, and your client occupies a position on page one of Google. As a result of this, their site is generating a lot of traffic. But how do you keep that all-important bounce rate low, and, perhaps most pertinently, turn web interest into financial gain?

This is where the so-called ‘Calls to Action’ come into being. This can take the form of inspiring web copy, such as in the use of urgent and active language. Building an initial connection is crucial to low bounce rates, so entice the user in with appropriate keyword placement. Once hooked, the user may be thinking: Why do I need to make a purchase? It’s YOUR job to tell them.

An E-commerce site needs to be simple and easy to navigate. The worst thing that could possibly happen here is if the user has decided to make a purchase but is confronted with an ugly or impossible to work out web shop. So keep your designs enticing but straightforward to guide the visitor to the items they seek and minimise the risk of the shopper ‘moving on’. Offering a selection of different payment platforms will help with this.

Conversion rates aren’t just limited to generating sales. Even things like filling in an online contact or enquiry form can be considered a return on investment for a website. And the addition of blogging software such as RSS or WordPress will enable your client to update regularly on sale items and special offers – which will again boost the likelihood of the visitor taking the desired action.

Elegant visual appeal will never be frowned at either. Strong graphics incorporating Flash and layout design help to create visual relevancy and a consistent brand identity, which builds an element of trust between you client and their customers.

In conclusion, it is clear that a well-designed and functional website will smooth the transition between a site visit and desirable end result – a purchase or an enquiry.

PPC Marketing: How To Turn Clicks Into Customers With Advanced Targeting Strategies

PPC Marketing: How To Turn Clicks Into Customers With Advanced Targeting Strategies

A lot of people look at the wrong thing whenever they are looking at the stats of their online businesses. They tend to only look at how many clicks they are getting on their sites. This means how many hits they are getting, and this is looked at by viewing your hit counter that most sites have. However, this is not giving you a really good view of how many people are truly into your site.

First of all, clicks just mean that someone clicked on your ad, and they ended up at your site. Just because someone clicked on your ad does not mean they went to your site and looked around. It does not even mean that they were on your site more than a second. This is where the first problem comes from.

Nowadays a lot of people use pay to click ads as a way to get traffic to their sites. Pay per click advertising is a sure way of getting traffic to your web site, however most internet marketers are not using advanced targeting to get the most of their PPC advertising campaigns. The real problem is that they are not getting clicks from people who really care about what they are doing or what they are selling. By failing to reach their targeted audiences, they keep wasting tons of cash in PPC fees only to get mediocre results,

To get advanced targeting, you need ads that are going to be graded toward the people that care about your site. These are people that really would buy something that you are selling. One of the best ways to do this is with long tail keywords. Long Tail keywords are those 2 and 5-keyword phrases which are very specific to the product or service you are selling. Whenever someone uses a highly specific search phrase, they tend to be looking for exactly what you are selling and they are actually going to buy from you.

So the first thing that you have to know is that general broad keywords will not give you a better return on investment than long tail keywords. They are not going to get your advanced targeting customers, and at the end, you are just wasting your money. Always be sure that you are getting the most for your advertising dollar with you PPC campaign. The key for running a successful pay per click advertising campaign is to make a good use of advanced targeting. That way you are reaching the right audience and you have a far better chance to make the sale.

Keep in mind that long tail keywords are not only for PPC advertising. You can also use long tail keywords for organic search engine optimization. Highly targeted multi-word phrases tend to be far easier to rank well in the search engines results than the more generic /broad single keyword phrases. Do a keywords research and try to identify long tail keywords closely related to you niche. By doing so, you will soon increase your targeted traffic and sales.

How To Turn Banner Ads Into Profits

How To Turn Banner Ads Into Profits

Many SEO managers have pumped the internet full of misleading, and often untrue, SEO tricks and information. One reason is to make it sound like they have insider information no one else is privy too. Another is to avoid projects they don’t like doing, or do not know how to do like they are smarter than other web gurus.

Unfortunately, this has left many ecommerce and work at home professionals avoiding, or neglecting some effective marketing tools. One of these is the banner ad. Many marketers have stopped using banner ads because they have been told that they do not work.

This myth was born at the peak of the banner ad fad when websites were trying to jam as many ads as possible into a 10 second view. Some of these sites believed that three or four seconds was all the visitor needed to click. Of course, many of the old computers were slow, so most banner ads disappeared before the visitor clicked the ad.

Google also helped give birth to this myth when they introduced their Pay Per Click scheme. It worked on the same concept as the banner ad, but your ad didn’t rotate. This appealed to many advertisers who saw a new way to put an ad on a webpage, without the rotation.

The truth is, banner ads do work, and still produce a significant amount of traffic. The best sort of banner is the ‘invisible banner’ that was popularized by Scott Covert. This banner had a direct response type, benefit laden headline that blends in and looks like a part of the webpage.

This type of ad works for all advertising, including PPC. The banner ad should choose words carefully. Emotional services and impulse buys should use strong words to hook the reader like scorching, starving, sizzling, powerful, etc.. Professional services and products should be straight forward, and succinct.

Do not lie. If the banner states that you have a guaranteed way to win customers for free, don’t lead them to a page that sells a package on free marketing.

The message on the banner should do more than offer a benefit. To really work, it should solve a problem. The trick is to lead the visitor to a page with the same banner, and that works to continue solving the problem. Never, lead a visitor to a buy now page.

One of the biggest mistakes is leading visitors to buy now pages instead of landing pages. The second biggest mistake is focusing on how great the product is, or how wonderful the provider is. Instead, everything should focus on the visitor, their needs, and their wants. The landing page should lead the visitor to other pages that continue to solve their problem. This is where forums and blogs come in handy. Last, once the website has hooked the visitor, then it is time to show them where the buy-now page is, but don’t trick them to click to the buy-now page. Instead, tell them clearly where to find the product.

One way to attract people is to offer something for free, but not an ebook. Instead of an ebook, offer an ecourse, or an audio course, or a teleconference.

It is also important to tell people to click the banner ad. Surprising as it may seem, but only a few million people are comfortable with computers. Millions of people, even in America, are unfamiliar or uncomfortable with computers. If you don’t tell them to click, they may not know they ‘have’ to click.

It is also smart to test banners. Each product has a ‘target audience’ who are most likely to buy the product. Finding this target audience improves the buy-rate on the website. However, not all banners will perform the same. One style of banner may attract 1000 click through visits a day, but only 1 sale. Another may attract 500 clicks, and 4 sales.

Why the iPad Will Turn This Economy Around

Why the iPad Will Turn This Economy Around

By now we should all be familiar with the new ingenious device that Apple came out with, the ipad.  If you have not used this device yet, you should really go and get your hands on one, even if it’s to test it out.  This new craze of technology is not only going to help out business owners, it’s going to help out each individual customer and could potentially turn this economy around.

In a time where money is hard to come by for many people due to loss of jobs, not enough business, and so on, who do we look to in order to help us out?  You’ve guessed right, technology.  Technology is forever evolving and at such a rapid pace that by the time you finish reading this article there may even be a newer version of the ipad out on the market.

So how will the iPad itself turn this economy around?  It’s pretty simple when you actually break it down.  Everything works in a ripple effect.  The iPad is the new “hot thing”.  It’s comparable to how huge the television was in the 40’s. We will forever remember 2010 as being “the year the iPad came out.”  Since a product as successful as this has come out with sales estimating to be in the 1mill buyers in under a year, you better believe more jobs are being filled.  People are needed to produce this product, as well as tech support that will need to accompany it, as well as sales people to sell it, as well as drivers to deliver it, iPad app developers, and so on.  You get the point, for more see Adams iPad blog.  The money that is made from all of these workers will then be pumped back out into our economy.

It was a brilliant strategy on Apple’s part when they made this product affordable to everyone.  With the economy the way it is, people are struggling to pay rent, buy food, make car payments and so on.  Apple is catering to those people by providing a product that most can afford.  Naturally, because of the ripple effect, the number of companies and individuals having to go through debt settlement will severely decrease due to people having more money in their pockets.

Companies can expand their remote sales force capabilities with custom iPad applications that cater to their business segment. Those developers create jobs for the sales guys who get more products sold and the ripple continues.  And not to mention the thousands of other jobs that will be created from the competitors, such as Google and Dell, who will fire back with their take on the iPad.

I compiled a list as to how I think this ripple effect will trickle down and turn the economy around.

            1.  People that make the iPad

            2.  People that sell the iPad

            3.  People that deliver the iPad

            4.  People that provide tech support for the iPad

            5.  People that buy the iPad

            6.  People that save money from buying iPad, opposed to normal laptop

            7.  People that use the money they saved from buying iPad to purchase                           other products and services

            8.  People that are needed to provide these other products and services

            9.  Money that is made from providing all these products and services.

            10. Money that is made is pumped back into economy

As you can see, this ripple effect will not only benefit the buyer and seller, it will also benefit everyone else in our society.  So with the cost of the iPad being even more affordable than a regular laptop, people will then have extra money to spend on things such as food, clothes, entertainment and etc.  And with the capabilities that this 1.5 pound .5 inch device has to offer, why wouldn’t you snag one off the shelf?  Plus, don’t you want to be a part of the contributing factor that will help swing this economy back into shape?  I know I sure do.

Webmasters Use Widgets Turn Dead Space Into Web Traffic

Widgets are giving webmasters a simple way to generate revenue from the dead space on their web pages. By adding a small piece of code on each page the webmaster not only brings relevant targeted ads to site visitors but also generate revenue or additional traffic depending on the network providing the widget. The technology is simple and the options are growing every day.
Power in Simplicity
One of the reasons widgets have become so popular is because of their simplicity. Ron Popeil, one of the greatest television pitch men of all time, sold millions of chicken rotisserie machines on late night TV with five simple words, Set-It-And-Forget-It! Widgets work on the exact same principle. The webmaster puts a little snippet of code on the web page and the ads, games, pictures, or music is piped to the computer screen. It literally opens a little window into the web page that someone from the outside can control. The webmaster drops in the widget and the content is rotated in.
How much is that Doggy in the Window?
Have you ever wondered how the bundle of ads on the right side of your screen is always of at least general interest to you? When you are using Google it puts ads there that are related to your most recent search. That makes sense because the mad scientists at Google control which ads are sent and know the search words you just used. Because Google knows who is looking into that little window on the web page they know exactly what kind of puppy to put behind it to get you to buy. It is the ultimate in targeted marketing.
Monetizing the Window
Advertisers are all about getting their products in front of people who will buy them, and if website visitors meet that criteria they have real value. Google is willing to pay the webmaster a penny or two every time an ad in the window is clicked. It is called monetizing your web traffic. That is the good news. The bad news is that unless you have about a gazillion visitors to your website you are never going to make much money. Not only that, but if the webmaster wants to use Google Ads to drive traffic to his or her website the cost for each visitor can be very high.
Real World Examples
If a person has a website that sells e-books they can sign up with Google to place small ads for them on relevant websites. When someone clicks on one of those ad they are directed to the e-book website and a click fee is deducted from the webmasters account. At the time of this writing the keyword e-book marketing had a cost-per-click from Google of $3.06. If the keyword used was debt consolidation the cost would be $20.59 per click. Even something as obscure as wicker baskets carries a cost-per-click of $1.55. In these cases the odds seem to be stacked against the independent website owner in both directions. The space on their website is not worth much and driving traffic there is expensive.
Traffic is King
For the webmaster there is nothing more valuable than traffic. Whether you are selling chicken cooking machines or trying to get your poetry noticed you need traffic to be successful. Technology has made putting together a website pretty simple. However, driving consistent traffic to a website is much more complicated. Pay-per-click companies like Google, Yahoo, and others use an auction system for keywords because companies with deep pockets are willing to pay top dollar for traffic. Again, this system does not favor the small webmaster trying to promote his or her website.
The Entrepreneurs Step In
The key to successful entrepreneurship is identifying and filling needs, often with very simple solutions. The answer to the small webmasters dilemma was not only simple but had been around since medieval times. Cut the robber baron out of the middle and form a cooperative system where participants can support each other in realizing their goal, in this case, driving traffic to their websites. Several new firms are now doing just that by setting up cooperative type systems that serve the small webmaster and blog owner.
Building a Widget
Although there are some subtle differences between the firms that offer this type of system most include the following steps.
* Join the network (generally both free and pay options are available)
* Identify the ad categories they think would be most successful on their site
* Choose a style and size of widget or ad block that best fits their site
* Create text ads that will go in widgets on other sites
* Put the simple code generated by the system on their web pages
How the Systems Work
Just like Google AdWords these systems send targeted ads into the widgets but there is no pay-per-click system. Instead, every time a widget is viewed on the webmasters site a credit is earned to have one of the webmaster’s ads shown on another site in the network. This is a self-perpetuating system because views generate credits which generate traffic which generates more views, more credits, and on and on. In addition, most systems have links on their widgets so webmasters receive recognition for referring other members to the network which is rewarded with even more advertising credits. Through what is called The Multiplier Effect, the focus on traffic will ultimately be of much greater value to the small webmaster than selling the space on their web pages.

Swiss Maid Fudge – Fudge-making Experts Turn Attention to Handmade Caramel Apples

The candy of past generations holds a special place in the heart of Americans. Plenty of nostalgia is conjured when thinking back to the old sweets shops with their rock candy, jawbreakers, and licorice allsorts. Many of us maintain that the candy made today can’t match the quaint flavors of yesterday; that our Grandma’s secret recipe for chocolate fudge is the best in the world, never to be truly duplicated or tasted again; that only the farm near our hometown can churn out handmade caramel apples done right.  However, a small contingent of traditional candy makers have held on to the quality and methods of the past to enable the rest of us to have a taste of childhood once again.Swiss Maid Fudge, an old-fashioned candy company in Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin is one such traditionalist.  Originally specializing in chocolate fudge, the company sticks to the rules and techniques handed down through the family for generations. Having since expanded from fudge to handmade caramel apples, salt water taffy, and more, they make all their candy by hand from scratch. Part of their commitment to doing it the way it has always been done is to use copper kettles set over an open, gas-fired cast iron stove to boil the candy ingredients, and to mix and mold the candy on solid marble.  To get the perfect creamy taste and texture that so many of us remember, Swiss Maid Fudge uses only 100% Wisconsin Sweet Cream Butter in their products, adding no preservatives to tarnish the flavor.Old hands at candy making, Swiss Maid Fudge is particularly proud of their quality and variety of handmade caramel apples. Candy-lovers looking for a taste of the “real deal”, can choose from eight different staple varieties: Chocolate Dipped Peppermint Stick Apple, Cinnamon Apple Pie Apple, Peanut Caramel Apple, Pecan Caramel Apple, Plain Caramel Apple, Rocky Mountain Apple, Turtle Caramel Apple, and White Chocolate Dipped Peppermint Stick Apple. As a special treat, they offer four more varieties during the holidays: Holiday Caramel Apple, White Chocolate Dipped Snowball Apple, Chocolate Dipped Peppermint Stick Apple and White Chocolate Dipped Peppermint Stick Apple. Anyone wanting to experience candy-making first hand can get their hands on Swiss Maid Fudge’s Caramel Apple Kit, which includes all the ingredients and tools for making handmade caramel apples in the home kitchen; just add apples! Candy connoisseurs will be especially pleased to know that Swiss Maid Fudge retails their handmade products online, shipping a little bit of Wisconsin to the rest of America. Using no preservatives, they ship candy as soon as it’s made. Family-owned and operated since 1962, Swiss Maid Fudge now offers a line of superb, old-fashioned candy beyond fudge and handmade caramel apples, including hand-dipped chocolates, salt water taffy, caramel apples, caramel corn, brittles and crunches and homemade caramel. Swiss Maid Fudge has received an award for “Best Product” by Orca Communications Unlimited, LLC for the high quality candy products they offer. For more information, or to order handmade candy online, visit www.SwissMaidFudge.com.
