Apple TV next generation design of the whole touch-screen remote control exposure
Apple TV next generation design of the whole touch-screen remote control exposure
Apple’s iTunes 9 has been heard before the new interface shots of the BGR foreign websites, and recently brought a suspected Apple’s next generation product design, picture, rumored that it is likely to be the second-generation Apple TV remote control concept design artwork.
Information obtained from the picture you can see, this is a no button of the remote control, which uses similar with the Sony Vgp-bpl2 Laptop Battery all-touch-screen cell phone design, looks like a stretched version of the iPod nano, mode of operation is also with them very similar, by a finger touch to complete a variety of media players, and even web browsing applications.
Just ended in September, Apple on the Apple TV product lines of fine-tuning of the 229 U.S. dollars before the 40GB product delisting from 329 U.S. dollars to replace the 160GB version of the product, priced reduced to 229 U.S. dollars. Should the exposure of this picture is really the next generation of Apple TV’s standard accessories, it is so seductive strong remote control, for only the price of more than 200 U.S. dollars of the Apple TV is, is not it seem too extravagant to do?
Single from the sales point of view, Apple TV is Apple products introduced in recent years, the sales of the most dismal paragraph. Since it went public two years ago, the hardware configuration has not been much change. Although this position with the Apple TV itself is related by Apple as “interest products”, but Apple recently a series of moves of view, does not rule out the possibility he became the main product. When that happens, this revolutionary remote control design may become a major selling point.
Edit Comment: From the full-Touch Tablet PC rumors, to the full-touch remote control, Apple’s products the recent exposure, it seems related with the touch screen. We look back at this stage in the sale of popular Apple product, whether it is iPhone cell phone, iPod nano, there are MacBook laptops, have touch technology. These applications are the user’s love and concern, and because of patent reasons, Apple has become an insurmountable advantage of other brands within a short time, replication technology to copy product so far not as simple.
In fact, frequent introduction of Apple’s touch-screen products, also in copying his success, he saw from the Hp Pavilion zd8000 Series Laptop Battery a powerful business opportunities, people’s habits are changing, more mechanical parts button operation, it is likely because of Apple’s strong elected touch technology has been eliminated from the final will only be able to see in museums, this is not impossible to happen. Perhaps, is to change the habits of our time.
As market competition intensifies, the Internet phenomenon of the homogenization of the more serious, major manufacturers have to seek a breakthrough in order to obtain higher profits. However, when large-screen access to the Internet after the introduction, the price began to rise with the tide and even comparable with the traditional notebook. To industry sources, manufacturers in pursuit of profits at small and lightweight to change the characteristics of this way, the advantages of the Internet will cease to exist.
Rapid increase sales volume
According to the latest report released in the second quarter, notebook sales to reach 38 million units, of which the Internet was particularly strong in this market, compared with the preceding quarter, up 40%, the growth rate nearly twice the average laptop. Internet access to this strong sales, making its total notebook market share rose to 22.2%. ASUS Internet pioneer market share in this decline, as first-line brand Hewlett-Packard, Dell, Lenovo and Toshiba have access to the Internet in this market.
At present, the Internet in Latin America and China, the prevalence was even higher than regular notebooks. Internet in this low price is more suited for these emerging markets. Particularly in these areas for the first time computer buyers do not need to mainstream notebook possess all the features. In many areas, telecommunications operators to subsidize the purchase of the Internet, which also facilitated the access to this sales growth.
In Western European countries, many telecommunications companies signed a two-year Ibm Thinkpad t43p Laptop Battery in the user agreement to provide 100% subsidy, which is provided free of charge Internet access to this. Analysts said the markets surging in the Internet is bound to Apple and other companies will have a traditional notebook computer to form a larger pressure.
Gradual increase of the phenomenon of homogenous
As market competition intensifies, many manufacturers have begun to look to play cards. Recently, the Japanese Bandai has launched a cartoon online book, its greatest feature is the appearance of a cartoon image of the shell part of the desktop backgrounds with the relevant patterns. The product is sold in Japan rapidly. Sony has also launched a sudden appearance design and excellent workmanship processes VAIO W series, while we have a MININOTEBOOK, but either from the processor or chipset, all indicate that this is a pure and simple access to this. The Asus EeePC latest clamshell phone is one of the representatives of the family to make, its only a business card size, the world’s smallest PC motherboard, to overcome the difficulties of internal space for small, high level of integration to achieve a more energy-efficient, longer-lasting The endurance capacity.
In addition, Google and Nokia are also entering the online market is full of the expectations, these companies continue to join not only enriched the Internet in this market, product lines, but also in technology, market planning, long-term development of the industry to the Internet in this one More change the future.
Experts point out that in recent years, the Compaq Presario m2000 Laptop Battery in its present developments in the field less and less clear, homogeneous phenomenon even more serious, a number of cottage manufacturers have shifted their positions, and even mainstream companies are also devoting himself struggled in the face of sales gradually declined, making a number of vendors have to adopt a similar appearance of mold, but also for future market development of this great Internet bottlenecks.
The price war will no longer have the advantage of
The screen size because of the Internet in this growing, especially in the 11.6 inches of the advent of the Internet since the Internet has soared in the price. Reporter Zhongguancun see that there is a lot of Internet companies have already started this price war, like the Asus EeePC clamshell phone 1005HA-H’s prices have been lowered to 3199 yuan, not only so, until October 15 the same day promotional period, purchase EeePC clamshell phone 1005HA, you can receive more gifts
Asus EeePC relevant person in charge, told reporters that the Internet has its own room for the development of this still exists, but it has its own characteristics that must be taken one way, blindly to meet consumer demand, will be the immediate short-term interests as the highest goal of the behavior will lead to the development of the Internet in this track.
At present, various new technologies and new demands of customers are constantly emerging, according to the actual user needs to develop the Internet in this and other differences between the existing terminal, rather than a single price war in the PC makers to set aside the title of straw after , Internet this should show its own unique charm.
Nokia N97 and 5800 – the Touchscreen Army Cometh
Nokia N97 and 5800 – the Touchscreen Army Cometh
Touchscreen mobile phones are big business. After the success of the iPhone, every manufacturer in the world set about designing their own touch-based phones to try and take it down. now, it’s the turn of Finland, with the Nokia N97 and Nokia 5800. Let’s see what they’re like…
Nokia 5800 – takin’ on the iPhone
First up is a whole new member of Nokia’s Xpress range of music mobile phones, the stunning Nokia 5800. This one’s very obviously built for music and media, as it has a separate XpressMusic touch-key which pops up a list of links to music, videos, the web, and more. Oh, and the Nokia 5800 has a 3.2 inch touchscreen, to actually play with all your media content. Essentially, the Nokia 5800 was created to be a teeny handheld jukebox and movie player, and as music handsets go, this is just about the sexiest.
The Nokia 5800 has also got a 3 megapixel camera, HSDPA internet access and sat-nav, so that it’s a brilliant all-rounder, in addition to being a wonderful media gadget. Oh, and it’s got a strap to attach an imitation guitar plectrum. Pointless, but brilliant. However, the Nokia 5800 is very definitely a mid-range phone; it’s not, nor was it ever meant to be, a full-fat top-ender. That role falls to another mobile…
Nokia N97 – sheer, cosmic power
With the Nokia 5800 on course to deliver touch-based mobile phones to the mid-range market, that opens up a massive gap at the absolute top-end, and yes, there IS a touch-based mobile phone coming soon to take its place as the top-end powerhouse: the utterly awesome Nokia N97. This takes the same Symbian S60 Touch operating system used by the 5800, and crams it inside the shell of a proper, full-fat smartphone. Which means it has an even more huge, 3.5 inch screen, a flip out QWERTY keypad, and the camera now weighs in at a meaty 5 megapixels. The Nokia N97 is, in a very definite way, destined to be the new flagship Nseries mobile phone, and it’s truly as hyper-powered as we’d heard from rumours, with HSDPA, GPS, digital compass, and integrated Flash, meaning you get an internet experience that tops any other mobile phones! Put it like this: the Nokia N97 is simple incredible. It gleefully relieves itself over other mobile phones and while the Nokia 5800 angles to take over the mid-range, I reckon that the Nokia N97 will completely DESTROY the competition in 2009!

Touchscreen Mobile Phones Come of Age – Blackberry Storm and Htc Touch Hd
Touchscreen Mobile Phones Come of Age – Blackberry Storm and Htc Touch Hd
Touchscreen mobile phones have walked (well, not literally walked, but you get the point) among us for many years, but only in recent times have they become so prevalent. Now, the next stage of their evolution has happened, and we are witness to two new breeds of touchscreen excellence: the phenomenal Blackberry Storm and the titanic HTC Touch HD.
Why was 2008 the big year for touchscreen mobile phones?
That’s the big question, isn’t it. After all, touchscreen mobile phones have been on the scene for years, so why has this year been so explosive in terms of touchscreen evolution. Well, as much as I hate to admit it, it can be put down largely to 1 mobile phone. The reason I hate to admit it is because it’s the iPhone, a phone I personally loathe. I don’t like it because it’s had so much hype, with Jobs himself, and Apple addicts saying that it’s obviously better than all other mobile phones, and revering it in a way usually only seen with religious icons. Except it isn’t, other mobile phones leave it in the dust in terms of features. It’s not a mobile phone, it’s a flashy toy. The one thing I will concede, though, is that the interface on the iPhone is all swishy and quite nice. THAT’s the bit that’s given mobile phone makers a kick up the backside, and once it did, the race was on for all of them to make their own killer touchscreen mobile phones, from Nokia to Blackberry, from HTC to Samsung. The big two, heading into Christmas, are from Blackberry and HTC, and both of them have something new to offer…
Blackberry Storm – storm in a teacup?
First up is the Blackberry Storm, and it genuinely does bring something new to the world of touchscreen mobile phones; specifically, it brings a whole new type of touchscreen, a clicky touchscreen. Basically the screen on the Blackberry Storm actually moves slightly into the body of the phone, so that when you press down on it, to select something on screen, it feels exactly like you’re pressing a real button. Considering that the Blackberry Storm uses a virtual keyboard for typing emails, that clicky screen is one of the single most useful additions in the history of mobile phones. Basically, no other mobile phones have got it, and the Blackberry Storm is going to sell like hotcakes because of it, AND because it’s downright gorgeous in its own right.
HTC Touch HD – the Titan awakes!
Where the Blackberry Storm is sleek, and smart, there’s another touchscreen mobile phone on it way, which is less ’super-smart bomb’, and more ‘massive nuclear warhead’. Whereas the screen on the Blackberry Storm goes for innovation and cleverness, the screen on the titanic HTC Touch HD goes for sheer size; at 3.8 inches, it’s got a bigger screen than ANY other mobile phones in the entire world. And that’s a good thing, because the HTC Touch HD is essentially and oversized HTC Diamond, and uses the same TouchFLO 3D interface, optimised for finger controls. The vastly enlarged screen on the HTC Touch HD makes this one of the single most perfect touchscreen mobile phones ever imagined, and perfect for touch control. Oh, and of course, the HTC Touch HD also has a 5 megapixel camera, GPS and HSDPA, so it’s probably bang on the money to say that this is the one… Of all the mobile phones released this year, the HTC Touch HD is the iPhone-Killer!

The Rise of a New Touchscreen Star – the Mind-blowing Nokia 5800 Xpress
The Rise of a New Touchscreen Star – the Mind-blowing Nokia 5800 Xpress
Nokia aren’t known for making touchscreen mobile phones, despite making them in the past. That’s about to change with the release of their first mainstream touchscreen phone: the frighteningly brilliant Nokia 5800 Xpress.
A Touching History – Nokia touchscreen mobile phones through the ages
Nokia’s history of touchscreen mobile phones hasn’t exactly been brilliant. The first, the Nokia 7700 was only slightly advanced, and was vile. Its follow-up, the Nokia 7710, wasn’t a great deal better. Nokia have never released a touchscreen mobile phone that’s really hit the big time; they’ve always been, at best, niche mobile phones, or in most cases, not mobile phones at all (as in, they were Nokia internet tablets). With the release of the iPhone, though, it was clear there was a market for touchscreen mobile phones, so Nokia said, ‘We’re having some of that!’
The result is the mobile phone I’m talking about today, and thankfully, the new Nokia 5800 Xpress is far nicer than its predecessors!
Nokia 5800 Xpress – why it rocks
The key thing that’s different about the Nokia 5800 Xpress is its operating system, which, rather than recycling one from old mobile phones, is the brand, spanking new, never-seen-on-any-other-mobile-phones Symbian S60 Touch interface. And just like its top-end rivals in the world of touchscreen mobile phones, the Nokia 5800 Xpress is designed and optimised to use finger control rather than a stylus. In that respect, the Nokia 5800 Xpress is aiming very clearly at beating the iPhone. Features-wise, it easily does that, with a 3 megapixel camera, full-fat HSDPA internet speeds, and built in GPS. Oh, and video recording, something the iPhone lacks. It’s also got access to its own music store, and there’s not getting away from the fact that the Nokia 5800 Xpress is one of the most anticipated mobile phones to be released this year.
But is it going to rule the world?
Nokia 5800 Xpress – ruling the world in two easy steps?
Well, it certainly has the chops to go far, but will the Nokia 5800 Xpress rule the world of mobile phones? Sure, it’s got the novelty value of having that unique touch interface (that’d be step 1), and it’s got the massive brand-power of Nokia behind it (step 2). But… and it’s a big but… what will stop the Nokia 5800 Xpress from ruling the world is what’s missing from the mobile phone; specifically, a big ‘N’ on it to show it’s an Nseries phone. I know it may sound silly, but I honestly think that launching the Nokia 5800 Xpress in any range other than the Nseries may well hurt its sales. But not that badly. Make no mistake, the Nokia 5800 Xpress WILL be one of the biggest mobile phones of 2008!

Touchscreen Crazy – Blackberry Storm Vs Htc Touch Hd
2008 has been a good year for touchscreens. Mobile phones that have that touchy-feely interface have done really well this year, and this Christmas, we’re going to see a battle between two of the best. But which IS the best – the Blackberry Storm or the HTC Touch HD?
A touching story of mobile phones
Touchscreen mobile phones have been around for years, right from the early days. There’s something about that interface that entices people. Maybe it’s feeling closer to the action, maybe it’s novelty value, but the fact is, touchscreen mobile phones are good sellers. If you needed that message ramming home, consider the success of the iPhone 3G, this year. It’s sold loads, its fanbase is very, very vocal in heaping love on it, and it’s given other mobile phones the impetus to up their game. Here was a mobile phone that took the idea of a touchscreen, and made it focused on giving a great experience to the user. Many mobile phones since then have gone down that same route, and now, in the run-up to Christmas, there are two brand new competitors – the HTC Touch HD and the glorious Blackberry Storm.
HTC Touch HD – the biggest screen in the known universe
The first thing you’ll notice about the HTC Touch HD, the absolute first thing, is the fact that the screen, at 3.8 inches, is bigger than any other mobile phones I’ve ever seen, ever! I mean, that’s just VAST. The only potential downside is that anybody who’s jumped early and bought an HTC Diamond is going to be not best pleased, since the HTC Touch HD is essentially the same mobile phone but with a much bigger screen and a better camera, which now comes in at 5 megapixels. The HTC Touch HD is looking as though it’s going to be a stonkingly good mobile phone, combining raw power with the patented TouchFLO 3D interface seen on the Diamond… and let’s be honest, when you’re a mobile phone with a 3.8 inch screen, you could be rubbish and people’d love you. Good job the HTC Touch HD is also a frighteningly good mobile phone in its own right!
It will have some competition, though, because it’ll be going up against the first ever touchscreen mobile phone from RIM: the phenomenal Blackberry Storm.
Blackberry Storm – storm in a teacup?
If the HTC Touch HD isn’t your cup of tea (say if you don’t like Windows Mobile), there’s another touchscreen mobile phone that will rock the world this Christmas, and it’s a beauty. It’s garnered loads of attention, for being the first touchscreen Blackberry in the history of ever. It’s the gorgeous Blackberry Storm, and it is as good as we all hoped it would be! It’s also super-advanced, because the Blackberry Storm is the first mobile phone to have a moving, clickable screen. So, you scroll through menus by rubbing on the screen, and you select something by pressing the screen into the Blackberry Storm, making it feel just like clicking a button. Stunningly useful, and it’ll give you a sensation unlike any other mobile phones. Combine that with Blackberry emails, a brilliant internet browser, 3 megapixel camera and superb media playback, and bring to the boil, to make the Blackberry Storm into a virtually perfect touchscreen mobile phone. The HTC Touch HD may have the big screen, but without a doubt, the Blackberry Storm is the nicer of the two, and in my opinion, the one you should drop your cash on!

Storming the Touchscreen Market – Nokia 5800 and Nokia N97
Storming the Touchscreen Market – Nokia 5800 and Nokia N97
The world of touchscreen mobile phones is starting to get exciting, as the biggest name in the business has waded in with not one, but TWO mobile phones: the Nokia 5800 and the utterly mind-blowing Nokia N97.
An undistinguished history – Nokia touchscreen mobile phones in the past
Many people are under the false assumption that the Nokia 5800 is the first ever touchscreen mobile phone to come from the Finnish manufacturer. It’s not. Quite the opposite, in fact, there have been a few touchy-feely phones to wear the Nokia badge. Starting with the 7700, there have been a couple of Nokia mobile phones that work by you prodding and poking the screen. They had a relatively big (for the time) touchscreen in common, but the other feature they had in common, unfortunately, was that they were irredeemably awful. Only one of these mobile phones, the 6708, showed any promise, but that was destined only for the Chinese market, and so, never saw the light of day in the UK. The mobile phones we got were, and I use this phrase with much feeling, utter, utter garbage.
However (and yes, it’s a big however), these bad, bad memories have all been exorcised by the launch of two new Nokia mobile phones, both of which have touchscreens, and both of which are much, MUCH nicer…
Nokia 5800 – touching music
First up is a new entrant into Nokia’s Xpress family of music mobile phones, the gorgeous Nokia 5800. This one’s very definitely designed for music and media, as it has a dedicated XpressMedia button that brings up a list of shortcuts to music, videos, the web, and so on. Oh, and a 3.2 inch touchscreen, to actually watch/play with/use those different media. Basically, the Nokia 5800 is designed as a little handheld entertainment centre, and as music mobile phones go, this is easily one of the sexiest. The Nokia 5800 also comes with a 3 megapixel camera, HSDPA internet access and GPS, making it a brilliant all-round mobile phone, as well as a brilliant media player. Oh, and it has a lanyard to attach to imitation guitar plectrum. That rocks!
However, the Nokia 5800 is very definitely a mid-range mobile phone, it isn’t, nor was it ever meant to be, an absolute top-ender. That position falls to another…
Nokia N97 – the single best phone EVER made?
With the Nokia 5800 all set to bring touchscreen mobile phones to the mid-range market, that leaves a very big gap at the very top-end, and yes, there IS a touchscreen mobile phone on its way to fill that gap: the frankly awesome Nokia N97. This takes the same Symbian S60 Touch interface and crams it into the body of a proper, full on smartphone. So it has a bigger, 3.5 inch screen, a slide out QWERTY keyboard, and the camera’s been upgraded to 5 megapixels. The Nokia N97 is, in a very definite way, the new flagship Nseries mobile phone, and it really is as high-spec as the rumours had us believe, with HSDPA, GPS, digital compass, and built-in Flash, meaning you get an internet experience like no other mobile phones! Put simply the Nokia N97 is awesome. It gleefully relieves itself over other mobile phones and while the Nokia 5800 aims firmly for the mid-range, I am predicting that the Nokia N97 will DOMINATE the world next year!

Is There a Better Touchscreen Smartphone Than the Apple Iphone 3g?
Is There a Better Touchscreen Smartphone Than the Apple Iphone 3g?
These days it seems almost impossible to go a whole day without hearing about the new Apple iPhone 3G. With its cutting edge features, it is the touchscreen cell phone that everyone wants to own. The question is, does it make fiscal sense or even common sense to own one.
Why is an Apple iPhone 3G s special? The Apple iPhone 3G is what is referred to as a touchscreen smartphone. You can surf the web, make phone calls, and even instant text message to your hearts content all by touching the screen of the phone. WOW! Sounds like there’s nothing else like it? Well, there is.
There are a number of other touchscreen smartphones that have features comparable to the Apple iPhone 3G. And unlike the inflexible iPhone 3G that can only be purchased in the AT&T Wireless Store, the other touchscreen smartphones out can be bought online or at the store front.
In this particular articleSearch4cellphonedeals.com will focuses on five different touchsrceen smartphones that are just as sleek and innovative as the Apple iPhone 3G. The list of phones includes (in no order): the LG Vu, LG Voyager, HTC Touch, Samsung Glyde and the LG Dare.
With any of the touchscreen smartphones in this article, you will have to start a new two-year contract or extend your existing contract in order to get the special prices listed. Of all the phones covered by search4cellphonedeals.com in this article, the LG Voyager and the HTC Touch are FREE with a new two-year agreement. The LG Vu is FREE and offers a .99 CASH BACK rebate and instant discount with a new two-year contract from AT&T (as of this writing, throughWirefly). Compare that to what you will pay for an iPhone 3G……9-9….you do the math.
Two of the cell phones, the LG Voyager and the Samsung Glyde, also incorporate slide-out QWERTY keyboards designed for fast instant text messaging. This may not be a big deal to the some, but if you ask a teenager or even some adults, fast instant text messaging is the most important feature they look for in a cell phone. Instant text messaging seems to be the preferred choice of communications in most teens, even over talking.
All of the cell phones that search4cellphonedeals.com are comparing to the iPhone 3G in this article offer big, beautiful touch displays that allow complete control over your cell phones features. All of these touchscreen smartphones support a full suite of features such as Facebook, Flckr, Google Maps and YouTube.
The following features may be a little more up to date with the newest Apple iPhone 3G versions, but just remember, everyone else is gearing up for their latest releases too. But as stated earlier, you can only get an Apple iPhone 3G at the AT&T Wireless store (if you can get one, most stores have the iPhone 3G on back order), so you may want to consider one of the other touchscreen smartphones in this article for convenience alone.
When it comes to features, the iPhone is not as cutting edge as you might expect. All of the touchscreen smartphones mentioned in this article by search4cellphonedeals.com, except for the iPhone, are Bluetooth enabled. All play MP3s and Acc, but the iPhone does not play WMA like the rest. All but the iPhone offer photo/digital messaging and voice dialing. All but the iPhone have memory card slots. When it comes to speed, only the LG Vu is as slow as the iPhone with a top speed of 1.7 mbps, the rest boast 2.4 mbps.
As for features that the iPhone 3G excels in besides price? The megapixles on the camera are 2, the same as all but the LG Dare that has 3.2. The iPhone 3G also has double the memory at 16GB.
Now the inevitable question comes, what carriers work with these other touchscreen smartphones? The LG Vu, like the iPhone works with AT&T Wireless, the LG Voyager with Verizon Wireless, The HTC Touch with Sprint PCS and Alltel, the Samsung Glyde with Verizon Wireless and the LG dare with Verizon Wireless. So as you can see there is a wide variety of carriers getting on board with the touchscreen smart phone craze.
It seems that maybe everyone wants the Apple iPhone 3G because it is a status symbol. Look at me, I have the new iPhone 3G! To us at search4cellphonedeals.com this makes no sense. You can get an equally innovative touchscreen smartphone for a fraction of the cost (or even FREE), and you can get it online if that is your desire. So really, you may be saying, hey look at me, I spent a fortune on a touchscreen smartphone when I didn’t have too.
At search4cellphonedeals.com, we believe you buy for common sense, not because you have to have the hot new phone. Remember, today’s hot new phone is next year’s dinosaur. Now this is not to say that the iPhone 3G is a bad touchscreen smartphone and that you shouldn’t purchase one. Search4cellphonedeals.com is simply trying to shed some light on the fact that there is an alternative (in fact several) out there that can perform lightning fast instant text messaging and much more. Sometimes in life, it is better to be a leader and not a follower.

Next Generation Touchscreen Mobile Phones – T-mobile G1 Vs Blackberry Storm
Next Generation Touchscreen Mobile Phones – T-mobile G1 Vs Blackberry Storm
Touchscreen mobile phones have also been knocking about, but they’ve never previously taken on the world-beating significance they’ve attained nowadays. Well, now, there are two totally unique mobile phones vying for your attention: the T-Mobile G1 and the Blackberry Storm.
T-Mobile G1 – a new, Android life form
For many months, one of the biggest news stories in the world of mobile phones has been the development of a brand new operating system: Google Android. Anticipation was high for the first mobile phone to come built around it, and that handset is the T-Mobile G1, quite literally the first of a new breed of mobile phones. Featuring Android, the T-Mobile G1 comes in a sleek body with a huge touchscreen that slides to one side, revealing a full QWERTY keyboard. Also included is a 3 megapixel camera, HSDPA internet access, and GPS. The cool thing about the T-Mobile G1, though, is the list of cool extras you get thanks to Google Android. Features like direct access to the Amazon MP3 Store and the Android Marketplace (for downloading software to your T-Mobile G1) are among the coolest things seen on ANY mobile phones!
Blackberry Storm – the perfect storm?
Blackberry mobile phones have always had a reputation for one massive feature: email. However, as of 2008, they’re going to be famous for something else. Y’see, in the Blackberry Storm, they’ve made something unique. It truly is a one of a kind mobile phone, with a clickable, MOVING screen. That’s right, when you press on the screen on the Blackberry Storm, it actually moves slightly into the body of the phone, meaning it feels like a real button, when you press on it. No other mobile phones can claim that feature, and it means that typing messages on the Blackberry Storm’s virtual keyboard feels exactly like a REAL keyboard. It’s truly a unique innovation, and it means that for emails on the Blackberry Storm (the real reason for any Blackberry’s existence), it feels simply superb. Other features include a 3 megapixel camera, HSDPA internet and GPS.
T-Mobile G1 vs Blackberry Storm – which one should YOU buy?
So, in this battle of innovation, which do you go for? The unique software of the T-Mobile G1 or the unique screen of the Blackberry Storm? Well, there are pros and cons to both mobile phones: the T-Mobile G1’s got a physical QWERTY keyboard, and the extra features that come with having Google Android, but it has the drawback of being a whole new operating system, and therefore, it’s still working out a lot of bugs from its systems. Meanwhile, the Blackberry Storm has that simply incredible screen, Blackberry email access, and is the better looking of the two mobile phones. So, in the end, it’s going to come down to personal choice, but being as objective as I can, I feel the Blackberry Storm is a smarter purchase than the T-Mobile G1.
Asus EEE PC T91 Features Full Touchscreen and Weights For Only Two Pounds
Asus EEE PC T91 Features Full Touchscreen and Weights For Only Two Pounds
The Asus EEE PC T91 is the first tablet netbook by ASUS with full touchscreen feature and is already available in the US market now. Broadly, touchscreen tablets are an off-repeated combination of excitement and disappointment in many ways. Mostly what’s out there are great ideas with mediocre hardware, mix it with sleek and modern shape, but very bad execution of the touchscreen feature. Let’s see if the T91 would be able to sidestep these issues.
The T91 is a compact little machine and has a pretty attractive physical appearance. It weights only two pounds including the lithium polymer battery with a thickness of only an inch. The LCD can swivel to the left and move quite smoothly, giving a sturdy feeling about the netbook. The 8.9-inch EEC PC T91 provides a small and standard keyboard that allows surprisingly easy and efficient typing. The machine is certainly compact but not cramped and features a nice clickness. The backlit LED resistive touch panel of this machine is considerably bright and good looking, though, at the same time, its very glossy and takes fingerprint easily. It boasts two USB, one VGA, and two audio ports, and a power button on the screen’s left bottom edge. There is another button directly to the right of the power button, which is one of the means of activating the touch interface. Moreover, it has a flexible stylus fitted under the bottom right side of the main body.
When it comes about the specs of T91, it has an Intel Atom Z520 1.33 GHz CPU, 1GB of RAM, 16GB SSD, Intel GMA500 graphics and a lithium polymer battery that offers 5 hours of constant backup. Other than that, it also features 802.11 B/G/N Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.1 plus EDR and 10/100Mbps Ethernet.
To get the touchscreen appropriately responsive, the Asus EEE PC T91 comprises an easy, 9-point calibration procedure and also loaded with some custom-built software called Touch Gate interface. The touchscreen interface can be activated from the usual XP desktop in three different ways- via the desktop icon, the slider icon on the top of the desktop and a physical button located right to the power toggle. Hitting any of those will bring up the main Asus Touch Gate interface which is basically a very simple row or different icons that can be reorganized in any order. Memos and Notepad is pretty self explanatory without plenty of whistles and bells, but the applications work very much efficiently. The touchscreen is quite responsive and calibrated to both fingertip and stylus, so the notes can be made with actual handwriting after getting a little used to with the process.
Clicking your finger left to the Touch Gate interface, it will appear a screen called ‘Widget Screen” which comes with many pre-installed and customizeable widgets from Yahoo. Overall, the software with the EEE PC T91 is designed really nicely and operates pretty good as advertised. Still, there are few limitations with the CPU and the responsive touchscreen, we had to move slower than we usually want to.

Nokia 5800 Product Focus – is This the Future of Touchscreen Mobile Phones?
Recently announced is the first mainstream touchscreen device from Finnish manufacturer Nokia. They’ve made touchscreen mobile phones before, but… nothing like the awesomeness of the new Nokia 5800!
Nokia and touchscreens – lessons from history
Believe it or not, the Nokia 5800 isn’t the first of their mobile phones to feature a touchscreen. That accolade goes all the way back to the Nokia 7700, a mobile phone that, well, never actually got released. But it was still the first, nevertheless. It’s just a shame, really, that Nokia’s first attempt at a touchscreen mobile phone was, frankly, rubbish, since it had a bit of a dodgy interface, the looks… well, the looks were described as anything from ‘a bit misjudged’, to ‘looks like a taco’, all the way up to ‘bad prop from Star Trek’. The follow-up, the Nokia 7710 wasn’t much better, being a bit buggy, still huge, and it lacked the features that other mobile phones were rapidly starting to have (cameras, 3G and so on). After that, the only Nokia devices to have touchscreens were not actually mobile phones, as the concept was shifted over to their range of internet tablets.
But now, touchscreen mobile phones are all set to make a triumphant return to the Nokia range, with their newest and bestest touchscreen mobile phone ever: the Nokia 5800.
Nokia 5800 – touchscreen mobile phones for the masses
Soon to be released, the Nokia 5800 is sure to have a very big effect on their portfolio of mobile phones. And the inspiration of it can be traced back to the release of the iPhone, so you can be absolutely sure they’ve made the Nokia 5800 as slick and as user-friendly as possible. The new S60 Touch interface in the Nokia 5800 is tremendously elegant, as well as being really rather powerful. Put simply, it’s a joy to navigate round, and so much nicer than many other mobile phones on the market. Combine with a list of top-notch features, like 3 megapixel camera, HSDPA and so on, and you get a really cool smartphone. But it’s with music that the Nokia 5800 really shines, as it’s music that this beautiful mobile phone lives for, with a music player that really is second to none. In conclusion, I can sincerely say that the Nokia 5800 is one of the most impressive mobile phones I’ve seen in a long time.
But the surprising thing is… the Nokia 5800 is a mid-range mobile phone, not a top-ender. So what will happen, when the Nokia 5800 magically morphs into the first touchscreen Nseries mobile phone.
Captain N – the future is Nseries
There’s no doubt that the Nokia 5800 is a really cool mobile phone. It’s slick, pretty and clever. but what will the new S60 Touch interface be like when it gets put into Nseries mobile phones? Are we going to see something akin to the Nokia N96 that you control by prodding the screen? Well, the answer, unsurprisingly, is yes, as confirmed by Nokia themselves. The Nokia 5800 is merely the first toe in the water, as it were, and there WILL be Nseries mobile phones released with the new touch interface. That’s when we’re going to see the big, uber-top-end, ultra-powerful mobile phones, with cameras probably in the tens of megapixels, massive amounts of storage, and frighteningly fast internet access. They won’t be the Nokia N96 with a touchscreen, though, for the simple reason that they’ll blow everything away, the Nokia N96 included!
