Sony’s Vaio X netbook attempts to reach a different class of customer than do most netbooks

Sony’s Vaio X netbook attempts to reach a different class of customer than do most netbooks

The iPad is designed as a mobile Internet machine. The integrated Safari browser runs impressively fast, even on complex Web sites. Put to the key web standards test Acid3, the iPad scored a perfect 100 points. That said, Apple has stubbornly refused to incorporate Adobe’s Flash technology, frequently used on the web for video playback, interactive graphics and online games.

Sony’s Vaio X netbook attempts to reach a different class of customer than do most netbooks, which are inexpensive and tend to underwhelm on performance. With a starting price of ,299, Sony is aiming the Vaio X at mobile professionals looking for an ultra-lightweight computer with a physical keyboard and a VGP-BPS2A battery that will last maybe half a workday without needing to be recharged. It’s a great machine if you have no problem with sticker shock in a category wherein many netbooks sell for 0.

The two new 13-inch MacBook Pros feature 2.4GHz and 2.66GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processors, up from 2.26GHz and 2.53GHz respectively, with 4GB RAM. While this speed increase can only be a good thing, we have to wonder why Apple is sticking with the Core 2 Duo instead of going for a Core i3 or even a low-end Core i5, taking the entire MacBook Pro range over to the new CPUs. Using a Core 2 Duo as the rest of the MacBook Pro range moves to the Core-i chips makes the 13-inch model look a little dated.

Netbook vendors seemed to have agreed on a certain set of solutions such as 1G memory, 100G+ hard drive, Intel Atom processor, embedded cameras, etc., but after that, the choices are many. It has taken me a while to get to this point, but if you were to buy a Netbook today, the minimum requirements should be.

The highly attractive Toshiba(Satellite A300 Battery) Mini NB305-N410BN is a 10.1-inch netbook that offers features and performance comparable to many other netbooks. Looks-wise, however, it is hard to beat. You can purchase the Mini NB305-N410BN for 9.99, and it comes with a one-year warranty as well as technical support online or via telephone.

Good battery life, design and ergonomics, plus a reasonable £256 exc VAT price, mean that HP ’s latest netbook immediately becomes one of our favourites. The Toshiba retains its A List crown thanks to a better trackpad and wireless, but it’s a close-run thing and the stylish HP is good enough to earn a Recommended award instead.

Several years ago, there was a debate about the safety of li-ion batteries after millions were recalled due to overheating and the potential to catch fire. Since then, the technology has been adapted to address many of those hazards, but li-ion batteries are still more volatile than other battery types.

One of the first things you notice with the 5310m is that it feels very solid—almost like a ThinkPad(ThinkPad T60 battery), though obviously it looks completely different. The magnesium alloy main body provides a firm foundation to build upon, and the LCD and cover are sturdy as well showing very little twist or flex. The keyboard is likewise free of flex and provides a comfortable typing surface. All told, build quality is definitely a highlight of the ProBook.

We performed ours standard bevy of tests on these new Apple MacBook Pro models, and compared them to the previous generation of 13in MacBook Pro, the new 2.4GHz 15in MacBook Pro and the 13in unibody MacBook.

The new entry-level MacBook Pro also proved to be faster than the previous “better” and “best” configurations in the 15-inch lineup, with 2.66GHz and 2.8GHz Core 2 Duo processors, respectively. Comparing the new 2.4GHz Core i5 MacBook Pro with the previous top of the line 2.8GHz Core 2 Duo MacBook Pro, the new entry-level 15-inch was 5 percent faster in our Speedmark 6 testing, with 7 percent faster scores in our Photoshop test, 17 percent faster Cinebench CPU score, 16 percent faster MathematicaMark 7 score, and 19 percent faster Aperture score.

Motorola K1 Krzr – More Than A Fashionable Mobile Phone

Motorola K1 Krzr – More Than A Fashionable Mobile Phone

Can a fashion mobile phone come with high spec features? Or, more exactly, can a phone that is destined to attract the eyes also be technologically optimized? Motorola proves that it can, with the new and innovative Motorola K1 KRZR.

What can be said about Motorola K1 KRZR? Appearance-wise, this phone manages to fit in the super-slim category that has been gaining more and more converts recently. Furthermore, the thing that impresses most when looking at this Motorola K1 KRZR phone is its striking glossy appearance – sure, not the most practical characteristic (considering the visible fingerprints and scratches), but definitely eye-catching. Even if it is considered an actual fashion phone, rather than a smartphone, Motorola K1 KRZR seems to have great functionality, especially when it comes to the keypad and ergonomics. Still, these great looks come at a price – Motorola K1 KRZR might not be the lowest maintenance mobile phone out there.

Let’s talk about more specific features. First of all, there is the screen, which presents no less than 262,000 colors and a good resolution: 176 x 220 pixels. Furthermore, the camera sports a zoom function and a resolution of 2 megapixels, although it lacks flash capability. Besides these, short videos can also be taken with this Motorola K1 KRZR phone, at a CIF resolution. The music player is quite well optimized and supports a great variety of formats, ranging from MP3 to AAC and AAC+ formats with stereo output for wireless Bluetooth.

If you are curious about the memory capabilities of this phone, the default capacity is only 20 Mbytes – which isn’t much, but the creators thought about your needs, and it is actually extendable to 2 Gigabytes. What else is there to say? The battery lasts decently long, the mp3s can be used as actual ring tones, there are plenty of Java games to choose from, voice memo recorder, aircraft mode and other such entertaining or multimedia features that enhance the overall package.

Some might think that Motorola targeted the ladies with this phone, especially because of its appealing glow and structure, but this phone has proven popular to both men and women. Motorola has ensured that the KRZR is not just about pretty looks; it is easy to use, it feels great to hold it, and at the same time, it offers a wide set of high spec features that can satisfy even the pretentious customers.

Blackberry Mobile Phones: Better Than the Best!

One of the most reputed names in the field of mobile production is Blackberry. They have earned this reputation after producing quality products one after the other over a substantial period. There are various reasons for the success enjoyed by Blackberry for such a long period. For starters they have always been open to the demands of the public.

In other words their market research is impeccable which enables them to know exactly what is it that people want in their mobile phones. It also enables them to know why a particular handset did not do well or why it did well. They then work on the weak areas and make sure that next time round their product wins mass approval from public.

One of the USP of all Blackberry mobile phones is their super receptivity which ensures that there is no disturbance whatsoever in receiving or making calls. Such is the level of clarity that one feels as if someone is talking directly in his years though physically he might be sitting thousands of kilometres away. Then again whether one is calling from a plane or from a garage or from a lift or while climbing stairs the link never fails which allows the user to enjoy his conversation without any hindrance. All these features make receiving and making calls from Blackberry an absolute joy.

Then again every Blackberry handset extends the freedom and connectivity of an all-in-one phone, e-mail, web browser and organiser. Along with such features Every Blackberry handset also provide intuitive menu system, familiar QWERTY style key board and easy to read display which makes keeping in touch extremely easy.

Every Blackberry handset is packed in with so many important features that it becomes impossible to cast your eyes of it. The aPad iRobot Takes Aim And Fires At The Apple iPad At Less Than Half The Price!

The aPad iRobot Takes Aim And Fires At The Apple iPad At Less Than Half The Price!

The aPad iRobot and Tablet PC’s in general are the future… Or so say many of the biggest computer hardware manufacturers in the world.  The heads of HP, Samsung, Nokia and of course Apple, with the iPad have sworn that this will be the new way we interact with and use computers.  While Apple’s iPad is already on the market, all of the other companies that want a piece of this computer segment continue to work through designs and re-designs to ensure that they get their slate or tablet PC’s just right.

That hasn’t stopped some smaller, yet very innovative companies from jumping on the tablet PC bandwagon, releasing various tablet pc’s and form factors to try and compete with, and offer an alternative to, Apple’s iPad.  The operating system of choice for many of these small companies is Google’s own ANDROID OS.  Already popular in many smartphones that have come to market.  It was originally designed only as a smartphone os, but works amazingly well as a full fledged touch control operating system on tablet PC’s too.  Much like Apple using their iPhone OS in a tablet PC, manufacturers are looking to the previously mobile only Android OS for their tablets as well.

One of the small companies I mentioned earlier developed and is shipping the aPad iRobot is poised to be a real contended in the tablet PC world.  While companies such as HP and Samsung try and rush out tablets that we’ve only seen concept art for, the aPaid iRobot has already started shipping and aPad’s are already in the hands of customers world wide.

While the company behind the aPad iRobot may be small, the aPad itself is BIG on features.  Boasting expandable memory via MicroSD Flash cards and built in apps and videos, set up out of the box, to allow you to take your content with you anywhere you please.  The aPad comes with a 7″ touch screen and runs Google Android OS.  With a built in camera – something the iPad from Apple lacks – it offers video conferencing from the moment you open the box and power up the unit.

It runs Android OS 1.6 and has built in support for GMAIL email, High Definition Videos, and access to all the Android Marketplace apps you can get your hands on.  All installable and useable just like Apps from Apple’s AppStore.

One of the things people complained about with the iPad was the lack of a standard or mini USB port, to allow third party accessories to be connected easily – and without having to spend more money on adapters.  The aPad iRobot has that covered too, with the mini USB allowing you to add any USB Compatible device, including an external Hard Drive and USB keyboards too.  And not to be out done by anything Apple.  The Apad also has the built in G-Sensor so that it will automatically switch to the direction that you’re holding the aPad – either vertically or horizontally.

An 600mhz processor powers the aPad, with an additional 600mhz for the DSP (digital signal processor) allowing HD movies to be watched.  Our favorite time waster – YouTube, is just a touch away as an icon on the main menu.  You’ll instantly be on YouTube watching whichever video you want to watch.  For all of the social networking folks out there, you’re set to go as well.  Facebook and every other major site can be accessed via the built in Google Browser that bring up web pages lightning fast on the high resolution 7″ screen.  Google Maps, Google Talk and PDF reader are all built in.  Much like Apple’s iPad, the aPad is a very capable and comfortable eBook reader too.  And it’s much more comfortable to read your eBooks on the aPad than on any mobile phone out there.  Sometimes, bigger IS better.  And this is really the case with the aPad iRobot.

And the best part of the aPad iRobot is the price.  While Apple’s entry level unit comes in at a crisp 9.00 – the entry level aPad  can be had for less than half the price.  At under 0.00 it’s much more obtainable for the majority of people that want to try out a Tablet PC but don’t want to spend 0.00 to do so.

I can honestly say that for most regular tasks, browsing the web, reading and responding to email, catching YouTube videos, etc… a Tablet PC – in this case the aPad, feels much more natural than any notebook or netbook out there today.  There’s just something about holding it in your hands and being able to carry it around with you to show videos or pictures to friends that really does make a tablet PC very attractive.

Rather than focusing on ever larger machines running lower-power processors

Rather than focusing on ever larger machines running lower-power processors

Finally, but most importantly, have a play with any notebook you’re considering and thoroughly check its build quality. Does its case feel weak and plastic rather than solid? Does the screen flex when opened and shut? Unlike their desktop PC siblings, notebook PCs can get a lot more knocked about so a solid build will greatly extend their life expectancy.

A valuable feature of the Xserve is that it comes preinstalled with the latest Mac OS X Server 10.5 Leopard with an unlimited user licence. Apple has made good on its promises with this OS as installation is a very pleasant affair. The  process starts with a server setup screen where you can choose from standard, workgroup and advanced configurations.

Rather than focusing on ever larger machines running lower-power processors, would the effort be better spent on creating more cleverly engineered sub-Netbooks with even smaller screens? If consumers are already somewhat confused about the performance level of Netbooks vs. Core 2 Duo laptops, making Netbooks larger doesn’t seem to be the way to make the understanding any clearer. Then again, a bigger screen for the affordable Netbook category is hard to complain about…or is it?

Having said that, I took the HP (NASDAQ: HPQ) Mini 2140 on the road to meetings several times and it held its own. It was quite comfortable to carry and PP2171M battery use. I didn’t even need a case or bag. The other thing is that it boots up fast using the Basic version of Vista running a full version of Office. It also comes with SUSE Linux or Windows XP.

Again, Dell has not made any official announcement of a specific product. But the frequency or rumors about such a device is increasing. The latest appraisal came Tuesday from Bernstein Research analyst Toni Sacconaghi Jr., who said that while there’s potential for Dell to make some decent profits from a good handset–which could arrive “in the next six months”–he’s not convinced Dell’s execution will be all that graceful.

Like other netbooks, of course, the 2133 and Mini 1000 have been purchased and used by bunches of businesspeople as well as kids and consumers — the battery DD880A idea of an easy-to-afford, easy-to-carry PC companion for checking e-mail, browsing the Web, and doing a little touch-up work on a report or presentation created on a desktop is what’s made the category a smash.

Welcome to the April 2009 Most Popular Tablet PCs list. This report is made using the total page-views each product page receives in one month; so each time someone clicks one of the product links, they are submitting a vote in our monthly rankings. This list doesn’t always show which models are the best selling, but instead the models that readers want to research the most.

The battery hp DD880A, named for its 35 keys, performed all the functions of the slide rule to 10-digit precision and could determine the decimal point or power-of-10 exponent through a full 200-decade range. This combination of features ultimately made the slide rule, which had been used by generations of engineers and scientists, obsolete.

In the wake of our winter roundup of retail laptops, we noticed that while there are plenty of good, inexpensive laptops available. For frequent travelers, there are still few options that cost less than ,000 (Netbooks excluded).

Kindle Books Are More Important Than Kindle Readers To Amazon

Kindle Books Are More Important Than Kindle Readers To Amazon

Since its launch in November 2007, the Kindle electronic book reader has been a great product for Amazon. Amazon’s strong association with both books and electronics was a marriage made in heaven and the Kindle, after an upgrade to Kindle 2.0 in February of 2009 followed by the introduction of the large display Kindle DX model in the summer of the same year, went on to become Amazon’s top selling product.

Over the 2009 festive season, the Kindle reader became the most gifted Amazon item ever – and, on Christmas day 2009, the number of Kindle book downloads was greater than the number of physical books sold for the first time ever. This was more than likely due to people who were lucky enough to find a Kindle under the tree experimenting with their new readers – and many of the books downloaded would have been free – but it was still a landmark event for both Amazon and the Kindle.

Amazon did seem to be a slightly reluctant manufacturer on occasions however. They went out of their way to make sure that Kindle books could be read without a Kindle reader. At the moment, Amazon has released free Kindle “Apps” for a wide variety of different devices – many of which would be considered to be the Kindle’s competitors. These include the PC, the Apple Mac, the iPod Touch, the iPhone, the iPad, the Blackberry smart phone and any device running Android. Amazon looked to be their own competition at times.

However, the method in Amazon’s madness became clear after the release of the Apple iPad. This saw the price of e-book readers fall as many consumers rushed to buy Apple’s new device which, amongst its many functions, was suitable for use as an e-book reader. However, although the price of e-book reader hardware was falling, the average price of the e-books to read on these devices was rising.

The main reason behind this was the deal which Apple had negotiated with the big publishing houses prior to the iPad’s launch. This allowed publishers to fix the price for the e-book versions of their publications at whatever level they wished – under the condition that the e-book wouldn’t be sold at a lower price for use with any other reader – the Kindle for example. Amazon’s policy of pricing e-books at $ 9.99 or less was pretty well destroyed overnight – it was starting to look as if the iPad wasn’t just a “Kindle Killer” but that it was going to put paid to Amazon’s plans for Kindle books as well.

However, upon closer examination, Amazon’s release of Kindle Apps for so many different devices starts to make a lot of sense. Each App is actually an outlet for Kindle books – and with a higher average e-book price, Amazon will be able to sell Kindles for less but still make money over the lifetime of the reader by selling their Kindle books at higher prices. Even if the iPad were to totally decimate Kindle sales – an unlikely event – Kindle books will keep selling. And, should some other mobile computer, smart phone or reader come along then there will no doubt be “an app for that” as well.

Find out more about the Amazon Kindle reader and take a look at the huge selection of Kindle accessories available to help you personalise and protect your reader.

Micro Niche Finder – Better Than the Google Keyword Research Search Tool?

Micro Niche Finder – Better Than the Google Keyword Research Search Tool?

When it comes to making money on the internet, proper keyword research is essential to making money & getting excellent results. Many of the top names in Article Marketing swear by the Google Keyword Research Search Tool, since its results come from Google itself. I have found Micro Niche Finder to be better than the Google Keyword Research Search Tool, & this review will tell you why.

Micro Niche Finder pulls its data from the same place as the Google Keyword Research Search Tool, but from there MNF seems to outpace the Google Tool by leaps & bounds. I personally have found the monthly search rates from Micro Niche Finder to be more accurate (in my opinion the Google tool’s estimates seem to come in on the high side).

Micro Niche Finder will save you time in performing several important aspects of keyword research. You CAN accomplish these tasks with the Google tool, but it takes a lot longer to do it manually. With Micro Niche Finder you have the following important functions at your fingertips:

GoogleSearch -The number of total search results in Google GoogleExactSearch-The number of exact phrase results with the keyword in quotes Clickbank Marketplace-Will show Clickbank products related to your keyword Search Search for Affiliate Programs-Will return Google results for affiliate programs related to your keyword Amazon Search-Amazon products related to your keyword DomainTools Lookup-shows if a domain name is available with the keyword in it; great for getting type in traffic EzineArticles Lookup-Will show how many articles are on EzineArticles for the term, no results is a GOOD thing AdWord Ads-Will show the AdWords ads for the keyword, great for gauging commercial interest

Just a click of your mouse will give you all this vital information that can take HOURS to do manually if you are using the Google Keyword Research Search Tool.

Another great feature is a Strength Of Competition analyzer that will give you a green check mark for phrases that are poorly optimized & easy to rank for, a yellow caution sign for words that are more optimized & harder to rank for, & a red stop sign for terms that are too competitive.

Micro Niche Finder will also show you what your term costs for an AdWords ad, the monthly search volume, the exact phrase count for your word, & the commercial intent for your term.

How will this tool help you make money & rank well in the search engines? Let’s say that you uncover a long tail keyword you want to use & it has a monthly search volume of 1000 searches. The exact phrase match on Google is under 10,000 competing sites & the strength of competition rating is green with a low number of occurrences in the title, body or anchor text of pages. You check for the number of E-Zine Articles for the term & Google politely informs you that no results are found. What does this mean for you?

It means that if you write an article for E-Zine Articles with the phrase in the title, 2 or 3 times in the body, & used as anchor text in the resource box, you can be certain to show up on the first page of Google, where 1000 people a month are going to see your article on the 1st page of Google. WordPress blogs work well for this too, & you can check for the number of times it shows up on other high PR article sites & Web 2.0 properties.

Just think how nice it would be to know every time you write an article or blog post that it was going to rank well on Google & get repeat traffic BEFORE you wrote it. Micro Niche Finder can help you do that. Which is why in my opinion it is BETTER than the Google Keyword Research Search Tool.
