How to Make Targeted Online Advertising Work for You

How to Make Targeted Online Advertising Work for You

It doesn’t matter if you have created the best website on the World Wide Web, complete with the best layouts, graphics, and other fancy stuff, if no one is visiting it. And speaking of visitors, you can use a number of ways to get people on your site. One of the best ways is to utilize the power of targeted online advertising. This method of advertising allows you to get a lot of visitors to your site that are more likely to be interested in what you have to offer. This will also increase your chances of making a sale off your website.

When you want to start an online advertising campaign for your targeted audience, one of the very first things you will need is good copy. A capable copywriter can produce copy that will make your targeted online advertising campaign more effective. What the copy needs to do is to include the most important and relevant keywords in the content, as well as provide invaluable assistance in the actual writing of the articles themselves. But even if you cannot hire a good copywriter for any reason, you can still ask for help from your webmaster in getting meta tags for your website.

Pay-per-click search engines can also help you with targeted online advertising. But for this method to be effective, you will have to find the most relevant keywords for your website. When you have the keywords you need, it will be relatively easy to set up ads that go with the text links for your site. This technique will increase the exposure your website receives, but you’d have to pay a small fee for every click that visitors will uses on your site. Even so, using PPC search engines are still a very good technique for driving potential customers to your site.

You can also use article submission for your targeted online advertising. You can generate articles that are related to your interests, and then submit them to e-zines that specialize on the same interests. You can include a link to your website at the bottom of each article. If your articles are interesting enough for the readers, more people will be encouraged to visit your site to see what else you have to offer. You can either write the articles yourself, or you may choose to go with a qualified writer. Either way, this is a very good way of targeted online advertising.

These three strategies will surely help you in your online advertising campaign. You can write good copy or hire a copywriter to produce them for you. You can also submit interesting articles to related e-zines which can drive in targeted traffic to your site, or you can use a pay-per-click search engine for attracting more people. You can even use a combination of these three tips. If effectively used, targeted online advertising will be invaluable in reaching the people who will be your potential customers, and develop your website into a successful online business.

How to Get Targeted Web Site Traffic – 1 of 3 – Keyword Research

How to Get Targeted Web Site Traffic – 1 of 3 – Keyword Research

On the web, the first and foremost goal of all businesses is to get targeted web site traffic. Search engine optimization is the best method that can deliver such results in a natural way. In general, pay per click advertising could also bring such results for you, but it will cost you a lot and as soon as you stop paying the advertising site, your ads will stop showing up.

On the contrary, the type of targeted traffic you get from search engines in a natural way remains there in search engine result pages for a long time, even after you stop paying your expert SEO service provider.

What’s Targeted Website Traffic?

Every marketing campaign is supposed to define its particular goals. When an online business seeks lots of visitors, it should plan for the exact type of visitors it desires to attract to its site. This is done when they plan to get targeted website traffic. They decide what type of people should come to their site and why.

At the earliest stage of search engine optimization process, a keyword research is performed to discover what phrases people search for to find the kind of products and services such business owners have. Then, after lots of keyword analysis, a group of phrases (usually more than 3 words each) are selected that indicate more inclination toward what such a website is offering. These keyphrases are grouped and prioritized to be used for various parts of the site.

Here’s an example of how to get targeted web site traffic: Suppose your site is selling properties in Canada and you have intended to increase your website traffic in a smart way. There are several categories in a real estate website for buying and selling like villas, condominiums and so on. The visitors you’d like to attract to an important page of your site are those who would want to buy condos. If you manage to get these people to that particular page of your site, you’ve managed to get targeted web site traffic to your site.

How to Achieve Such a Goal?

Everything depends on the keyphrase you choose for this page and then optimizing one of your pages for it. The phrase should be what a buyer may think of while searching. So, from among several similar phrases, you may be convinced that “buying condos” is the closest one. Well, obviously it is more narrowed than “condos” or even “buying properties”, but it should be more precise and to the point. Besides, the more words we have in a keyphrase, such a phrase will be more likely to attract the same visitors we want. So, we add the location to it too.

As the company is in Canada, “buying condos in Canada” is better than the previous phrase. Sometimes, there could even be more specific word to use within the same number of words. For instance, if you’re selling the condominiums in Toronto, and people use this word in their searches at various engines like Google, Bing, etc, why not replace Canada with it?

So, the phrase that helps you get targeted web site traffic to the specific page of your site will be: “buying condos in Toronto”. This is how keyword research can play an important role in getting targeted web site traffic for your site.

Targeted Pay Per Click Advertising – What are the Benefits?

Targeted Pay Per Click Advertising – What are the Benefits?

Most websites and blogs contain advertising of some kind. It’s one of the most common ways to monetize a website, whatever subject it may be on.

Targeted advertising is definitely the preferred type of advertising you want to have on your site, purely because it fits in more easily with your content and it will also attract more interest from your visitors. Pay per click is usually the choice for payment method in this form of advertising.

You will also often achieve a higher click through rate on any targeted PPC ads you use on your site, as opposed to using more general ads. This is because you will already have targeted web site traffic coming to your site, which is naturally attracted to the subject of your site. This traffic may come from links, search engines and advertising, but wherever it comes from it is in your best interests to make sure that you can provide other sources of information for them to click on if they wish – and that includes targeted ads to attract their attention.

Some people think that this encourages people to leave your site as soon as they arrive on it, but if your own website is built professionally and contains valuable content then you can rest assured that people will want to explore it. Everyone surfs off elsewhere in the end, and if that happens as a result of them clicking on one of the targeted ads you have included on your site, then you will at least make some money from their departure.

Pay per click targeted advertising works at its best when you tap into the traffic you are already getting to your website. But you can tap into that audience in different ways, for example by targeting a specific geographical area in the event that your business is local rather than global in nature. You will obviously get a much better click through rate if you are based in the US and your ads are targeted towards US customers rather than those living all around the world.

Many targeted ppc advertising programs also allow you to manipulate the appearance of the ads themselves. By doing this to ensure they fit in with the overall color scheme and appearance of the rest of your website, you are more likely to get even better results. Some people even opt to remove the borders around the ads so that they blend in more readily with the actual content.

It is clear that targeted ads are far more successful than any generic ads could ever be. By knowing your audience and providing the ads they want to see, you will be maximizing the revenue you receive from this area.

How to Discover Your Media Niche and Use Targeted Publicity to Build Your Business

How to Discover Your Media Niche and Use Targeted Publicity to Build Your Business

Whether you own, run or market a company, getting your business in the public eye has to be one of your best moves. To be able to consistently do that takes smart advertising and even smarter publicity tactics.

When it comes to publicity though, most people who are new at the game believe they can write a press release, send it to a radio or TV station or local newspaper, then just sit back and wait for the calls. Then, when the phone doesn’t ring, they might make a follow-up phone call or two to the newsroom, only to learn that no one’s even glanced at their release!

That’s a lot of hard work down the drain.

So what’s your first “media marketing” step? Simple. You need to find the media “niche” that best suits your message.

You first need to look at your message and ask yourself a few questions. Is it newsworthy? Is it consumer related? Does it have a local twist? Is there a visual aspect to it? Is it a topic I can have a long conversation about? What age group am I targeting? Is there a financial income I’m targeting? The answer to these questions will help you determine the correct medium.

Let’s Take TV First

Whether a morning, noon or evening newscast, they communicate to their audience through pictures. It’s all visual. A producer is looking for something “camera-worthy” that’s also newsworthy, entertaining, informative, or a “how-to.” If you don’t think your message can be visual, think again.

We once had a life insurance agency that wanted us to arrange local and national TV appearances for their CEO. The segment pitch we prepared was an interview about the importance of life insurance and why it’s vital for women to protect themselves for the future.

That probably sounds to you like a visual sleeping pill, right? But we had our client prepare big, attractive graphs showing the mortality rate of women versus men, and that told a powerful visual story. It wound up being a very successful interview for the media as well as our client.

Each newscast, believe it or not, is written specifically for a targeted audience that’s based on age, profession, and income. For instance, early morning news shows are usually watched by working adults and families getting ready for school. Noon shows are aimed for stay at home moms and retired individuals. Late night news is usually targeted for younger business people.

Matching Up with the World of Talk Radio

Radio talk shows, in contrast to TV, communicate through words rather than pictures. It’s conversational, so you need to have a message that lends itself to a conversation. What’s more, many radio shows love local angles. Is there a “community angle” in your message?

Like TV, radio talk shows vary from morning to night. Morning shows, as you might suspect, generally have shorter interviews during “drive time.” With news, weather sports and traffic, talk show hosts don’t have time for 30-minute interviews.

Midday shows, now run the gamut of topics since so many people listen to the radio at work. Today, you’ll find lots of business shows airing during the work hours.

After work is the second “drive time” of the day. Listeners are more relaxed then, and it’s more conducive to a longer interview.

And don’t discount those overnight shows. Think no one’s listening? You’d be mistaken. Evening and overnight interviews reach a broad audience of listeners, including 2nd and 3rd shift workers, public service employees, truckers and many people who work overnight.

Getting Yourself in Print.

Magazines and newspapers resemble radio and TV in that they’re looking for the newsworthy, the entertaining, the informative as well. But certain segments of print also like visuals.

For example, if you’re pitching a story about a new clothing or jewelry line, send photos with your pitch. Or, if you have a story about a gourmet food product, make sure to include a delectable dish photo. Whenever appropriate, photos can help you make the grade.

Targeted Traffic: Choosing The Right Search Engine Keywords

Targeted Traffic: Choosing The Right Search Engine Keywords

You probably would like to have the maximum amount of traffic to your website, and you may be looking at your website statistics to see how many people are visiting your site each day. But before you jump for joy over an increase in traffic, you should consider whether you are getting targeted traffic or not. Targeted traffic means that you getting visitors who are in interested in your product. If it is not targeted traffic, then you will not see any corresponding rise in orders, inquiries and sales and when you consider it, these are the most important statistics for your website.

If you want to get the kind of traffic that can be converted into some tangible results then there are two steps to take: Optimize your site for the right search engine keyword or keywords and promote this site in places where your target audience frequents.

Who is your site speaking to and who is it attracting? You can find out by looking at your website statistics and seeing what kind of searches people are finding your site with. If you are selling used cars, then you want your site to be found by people looking for a used car, not a new car. Whatever your site is about you have to be careful that your unique selling proposition is clearly identified and emphasized clearly. Your copywriters have to make sure that the search engine keyword that people use to search for products such as yours is prominent in headlines and in the body text as well as in the link text on the page.

If you are not sure how the usual Internet surfer does his or her surfing, then go to the www.overture.com site and use the search term suggestion tool, and you will see approximately how many people searched for a particular term and what variations they used during the past month. If you get your search engine keyword or keywords right, and if your site is properly optimized for that keyword, then the people who visit your site will be more likely to follow through and buy your product or sign up for your newsletter, or take the actions which you most desire them to take.

Also, once you have your proper keyword or keywords selected and properly blended into your site you can get highly targeted traffic via pay per click advertising. This can be expensive, but if your site can really convert visitors to buyers then it is the fastest way to get results.

Another way to get targeted traffic is to actively promote your site in places where your target audience is located. Imagine what your average customer looks like, how old she or he may be, what they wear, where they live, and most importantly, where they hang out on the web. What kind of websites do they visit? When this is clear in your mind, then you have to bring your site to the notice of this target audience.

Maybe you will have to advertise on sites where they visit, or place your link on such sites or in such directories. Do they visit certain forums? If so, then you should make some postings on those forums. Do they read electronic newsletters? if so then you should advertise in those newsletters or write articles that are published in newsletters and the websites where these people “hang out.” A well directed promotion campaign will bring the kind of traffic that is useful for you.

To sum up, targeted traffic combined with a persuasive website equals Internet success.

Looking For Targeted Leads? Then Follow These Steps Now

Looking For Targeted Leads? Then Follow These Steps Now

The following five important lead generation pointers must be considered by anyone looking to enhance their leads from their marketing efforts.

1. Your Audience: The very best marketing piece or sales presentation is useless if you do not project it to the right audience. It doesn’t matter whether you are marketing on the internet, via direct mail or creating display ads. Targeting the right audience is critical.

In order to identify your target audience, you need to do a certain amount of research. Some of the questions that will lead you to uncover a thirsty market are; Who are they? What are their wants and desires? And what are their fears and inhibitions?

2. Product Benefits: When selling a particular product, it is important not only to know the product thoroughly, it is just as pertinent to know the various benefits of the product’s features. It is these benefits that convince a prospective buyer to respond to your sales pitch and sign on the application form.

For this, a good technique is to enumerate all the possible benefits of a particular feature of your annuity and jot them down. This will not only help in selling more annuities, but will give a boost to your annuity lead generation as well.

3. The best way to market your product: In the case of a home based business, the response levels to marketing are often quite low. This is because your prospects have already been bombarded with a ton of advertisements selling annuities. So, it is most likely that he will hit delete on your piece or will simply ignore it.

A suitable alternative to frontline leads marketing is to create a “lead generator”. The most common form of lead generator is an information product. It may be a booklet or a report in this case. However, this is not a product brochure; instead it is a report that works more like a sophisticated sales letter if written professionally.

So, as a substitute to advertising your business opportunity, you would be advertising the report in your lead generator. The secret is to use the lead generator as a means to secure the contact information of your prospective buyers. This helps you to construct a priceless list for which every home business owner would give their right arm.

4. Systemize: Irrespective of the fact, whether you use a lead generator or directly market your annuity, you must first systemize your marketing operations. Statistics say that on an average for every sale to take place, 7 contacts must be made. This means that for every lead generated, follow-ups should be in place beforehand.

5. Testing: When marketing to your leads, you should also consider testing your operation on a small scale. Once you have chosen your market and the way to generate leads, put out a small ads or test a fraction of the number of names from a well-selected list. If you fail to achieve the desired response rate, then you know you have not wasted a big sum of money. Also, you can spot the errors in your marketing system and fix them. With this miniature trial and error technique, you can cut your losses, build a profitable lead generation system and can then implement the same on a larger scale.

Therefore, a winning lead generation program is most likely to succeed when you target the right audience, discover your product’s plus points, pick the right approach, follow it up and always test on a small scale (to de-bug your system).

8 Reasons Why Targeted Email Marketing Works!

8 Reasons Why Targeted Email Marketing Works!

Email has revolutionized business communications over recent years and has rightly earned the label of the Killer Application of the Internet. The use of email marketing has had a similar and profound impact for companies looking to promote their products and services. Emailing to a highly targeted market increases effectiveness tenfold!

It has been especially powerful for small and medium sized businesses (SMEs). Without the marketing budgets of larger organizations, SMEs nevertheless have the same requirements for a cost effective, successful and measurable method of communicating with their customers. Email marketing offers not only this but can be used in every element of the marketing process, from building your brand, driving traffic to your website or marketing special offers, to providing customer service or technical support.

But just why does email marketing offer such possibilities to small business and, indeed, organizations of all sizes? Below are outlined 8 reasons why email marketing has to sit right at the top of every SME’s marketing activities checklist.

1. Successful

First and foremost, email marketing produces results! A well designed campaign using a properly managed mailing list will give response rates which are much higher than other direct marketing methods.

While there are many variables that contribute to response rates, indications are that overall email marketing gains a response rate about 5 times higher than direct mail. By getting a much larger percentage of people interested in what you are offering, immediately you are massively increasing the number of potential sales. Added to this, the quick response methods allow a much faster turnaround of questions and objections thus clearing a way through to closing the sale.

Even though the unacceptable rise in Spam has had a detrimental effect on the proper commercial use of emails in marketing, the success levels of well run, targeted and fully compliant campaigns using full opt-in lists continue to advance in leaps and bounds. Effectively, whatever your goal, email marketing delivers in a way that few , if any, direct marketing methods can match.

2. Targeted

The more targeted your marketing message is, the more likely it is to be successful. Email marketing provides the means of customizing each message which is sent out, so that the information, promotion or offer can be individually personalized and targeted.

Effectively, using targeted HTML emails gives you the opportunity to quickly and easily tailor the message to directly respond to each prospect’s own needs and interests. Results consistently also show that the more you can personalize your messages, the higher your response and conversion rates will be.

In many respects, a well run email campaign makes the concept of “one to one marketing” available to all, because of the way that it is perfectly suited to segmentation and personalization. Whereas printed mailers are created, printed and fixed, with email marketing you remain in control of the process for longer giving you more flexibility both in the overall approach and offering. A company by the name of Email to Zip revolutionized the highly targeted approach of emailing to a 5 mile radius of a zip code.

3. Economic and Cost Effective as little as 5-15 cents a targeted email.

Email marketing eliminates the significant time and expense of full graphic design, printing, postage, handling and so on which is associated with printing and processing traditional direct mail campaigns. Yet with graphic html emails, you are able to create the same imagery and provoke the same responses with the added benefit of having follow up information instantly available via your website.

Perhaps just as importantly, with the correct maintenance of an email list, the cost benefits increase as does the ROI through the closer relationship established with the recipients. Coupled with the higher response rates that email marketing attracts, you therefore get more positive responses, more quickly and at a lower unit cost! Win – win situation!

4. Trackable

When using email marketing, you can track the results of your campaign in real time thus providing you with instant feedback on its success. This allows you to respond to developments as they happen and to follow up while the campaign is still in progress.

For each message, you can see whether:

* it was received successfully;

* it was opened and read;

* the recipient used the links in it to reach your site.

There are two immediate benefits of this level of information: firstly, it puts you in a position to be able to make changes to a campaign already underway to improve its response rate; secondly, when sending out follow up messages, you have the possibility to segment your mail list according to the action taken on receipt of the initial one. This allows you to respond immediately to any issues which arise and to complete the feedback loop quickly and effectively.

Moving forward, you also have a complete record of those elements and links which worked best for you and those which require changes to improve their performance. The experiences taken from the campaign can then be applied to future campaigns with a high degree of accuracy.

5. Measurable

As the adage goes, “If you can’t measure it, then you can’t manage it” and measuring the success of your marketing spend is more important today than ever. To make best use of your budget, it is essential to keep track of not only the costs but also the results and the revenue that the campaign specifically generates. This will allow you to focus your activities with the most appropriate methods in future.

In addition to tracking the recipients’ reaction to the email, you can also follow their subsequent path through your website, with the appropriate software. This allows excellent visibility as to the success of the landing page and the anticipated route through to the purchase or sign-up page, according to your campaign’s objectives.

Together, this information is invaluable when planning future campaigns or being able to precisely calculate the costs and sales generated by any email marketing activity that you undertake. Hopefully, the ROI (Return on Investment) you achieve will be as good as the campaigns run by companies which have reported ROI rates 40 times higher than those achieved with direct mail!

6. Testable

To achieve the best possible response rates, it is common practice to send any intended piece of marketing material to sample groups to test its effectiveness before starting the main campaign. With traditional direct marketing, this process can be time consuming and costly.

However, with email marketing, this process is fast and effective with results available almost immediately, thanks to the instant measuring of the results. Additionally, as there is no printed material involved, the turnaround for any changes in layout or wording required as a result can be incorporated into the main mailing quickly and easily.

7. Immediate

The speed at which business happens is constantly increasing. Email marketing allows you not only to keep pace with these changes but stay ahead of them, not only in terms of the speed of response to the campaign but also the creation of the campaign itself.

Firstly, the “Call to Action” can be immediate and ideally handled through the website. When you read a compelling offer in an email you can respond using the links in the message itself, usually taking you to a specially created page with additional information and recommendations. Responding to a direct mail piece, on the other hand, requires a much more active response, such as completing and sending off a form or even just picking up the phone. Just as importantly, the responses start to come back immediately! On average, 80% of the responses happen within 3 days as opposed to the weeks which is more normal for traditional direct mail.

Secondly, the creation and distribution of the email campaign is also much quicker. Carefully constructing, producing and sending a good html email which is going to bring the top level results, need only take a matter of days (or indeed hours if you are working with a supportive partner!) rather than weeks for a printed mailer.

8. Flexible & Adaptable

Email marketing is adaptable enough to support your business in many different ways and can help to achieve a variety of different goals. While email marketing is often considered stronger when you are looking to maintain customer relationships rather than forge new ones, it is in fact able to fulfill a variety of different purposes for your business. Some of these are:

* Increase the number of visitors to your website

* Attract new clients, leads or registrations

* Build stronger relationships with existing clients

* Provide improved levels of company, product or service information

* Build brand awareness

These goals can be achieved through the use of emails to distribute different items, each offering different opportunities for strengthening the relationship with the company’s customers. Some of the more common ones include:

* Sales promotions / vouchers

* Account statements

* Company Newsletters

* Press Releases

* Product Announcements

In summary. Email marketing is inexpensive, targeted and it works!

This is not necessarily true because a small “targeted” list of subscribers can match up any day to a 100,000+ list. It is hard to sift out the buyers from the lookie-loos unless you know a couple of things.

1. You need to know who your customer are
    What are their needs, what is their demographic, what situations are they in. You need to be able to communicate with them and show that you know where they are coming from. Building a relationship with your target audience is a major part of building a successful list. Once they can trust you they will be more willing to buy from you.

    Why would you want to spend that time building a relationship only to be in jeopardy of losing it by providing useless information. People obviously signed up with the intent of recieving valuable knowledge about something whether it be a new deal on a hot product that they know about an that you are selling, or maybe they needed a little extra cash to pay bills and you are providing them with valuable content and direction to systems that could benefit them. If you are looking to find products like that you might want to go to a site called Clickbank and do some quality research there.

3. Joint Ventures
    Now that you have a list craving to obtain the great products and services you are providing then you can try to increase that list by finding a joint venture. A JV Partnership is typically a business enterprise in which two or more companies or individuals enter a temporary alliance. In this case you agree to sell each others products to your respectable lists. This can become very lucrative for you if you can the right person to do business with

    Utilizing these three strategies will increase your list and sells dramatically because your are only working to supply info to the people who want it. That is why optin e-mail list marketing is the best way to generate leads and these are easy steps to obtain those leads.

How To Build A Targeted List

How To Build A Targeted List

Everybody in internet marketing says “the money is in the list”.  The email list, that is.

Why is that?  Can’t I just do direct selling on my website?  Sure you can. But if you were to build a list, you would have a very  interested group of people waiting to hear what you have to say!

Getting your sales to convert, takes a lot of work, and of course, you need traffic.  Sending traffic to your sales page might get a small conversion rate of about 1-2%.  But that means that 98-99% of your hard earned traffic goes away. . . forever!

Hey, that’s almost EVERYBODY!  And you will never hear from them again. Now, if before they left your site, you had a way to capture their email address, you would start to build a list. A very good list, because you know they clicked your link for more information, so they are definitely interested in your topic.

Now this list you are building is a very targeted audience, because you already know they have a good interest in your topic or they wouldn’t have come this far by clicking thru.  That is why you never want to just “buy” a list of emails.  So much better to build it yourself, one by one.

This kind of a targeted list will be much more likely to listen to what you have to say. And because you captured their email address, you will get that chance to communicate with these people again and again.

Now this is where the secret comes in:  Now that you have a list, it is very important how you treat these people. Don’t just pitch sales to them – they will quickly jump off your list. Instead, spend some time building a good, strong relationship with your people, so they will come to like you, trust you, and then, even buy from you.  People buy from people they trust sooner than from strangers.

Building a list of “relationships” takes time, but it will be well worth it. Just remember they are real people, like you and me. Really talk to them and give them valuable information in your emails.  Even give them some free bonuses that also contain valuable information.  However, make sure that what you are sending them is NOT junk! Make it really good stuff, and they will love you for it.

So,how do you go about building this list?

This is what I am learning in Alex Jeffreys’ coaching class right now.  He is definitely the go-to guy when it comes to building a list.  And he has put all this important information about list building in an ebook that he will let me give you for free! There are secrets in this ebook, that I have not seen anywhere else. His methods build a list fast and that’s exactly what I am looking for.
