As you sit down to write an article you need to ask yourself who is going to be reading this and how can I help them? As I have mentioned in several of my articles the trick is not to create something with the intent to “make” it go viral. The trick is to create a blog that contains valuable information and is well written and then it will go viral. This same principle applies when looking to increase your readers’ interaction. It is really important to have a clear idea about who you want to reach with your article. If you want an effective article you should focus on specific group of people. So, first of all you’ve to define your target audience. After defining this you can analyze your target audience age, gender and income. Think about their age, gender, their living area, and lifestyle, income level.
After analyzing all this stuff you’ve to plan for writing. Think about your target audience what they need to know. What type of information you can bring to them? Clearly identifying the “who” and “what” underlying your articles will serve to keep you focused.
Once you have established the “who” and the “what”, it’s time to focus on an idea. Once you’ve compiled a list of problems or issues, select one or more to focus on as a topic for your article. From there, you can break the idea into several detailed points which you will expand into your article content. Remember, just focus on a one topic for each article. Deal with a only single problem. Give them helpful tips, resources, and other information that will leave the reader with a solution the can use right now.
I have a good friend who owns a helicopter flight school, when he sits down to blog he is communicating to an entirely different audience than you or I may be intending to communicate with. With this in mind make sure that you are targeting the correct audience. If your blog is geared toward an audience looking for information on kite building you won’t want to write a post that directs most of its attention to model airplane building. You may want to write a blog comparing the similarities and difference between the two but your main goal of the blog post should be appealing to your readers’ main interests.
You may want to write a list of questions that you would be interested to know the answers to if you were new to the niche which you are blogging in and answer those in a article or two.
What is your target audience?
Where they located?
What do they think about your current writing?
What would you like them to consider about your brand?
How will you attract them to your articles?
Who else is competing for their devotion?
Make sure that your articles do not wander from the main subject. The more on target your posts are, the more likely your readers are to return to your article and share it with others they know. Blogs are meant to be dedicated to one subject such as professional networking, vintage car restoration or triathlon training.
It doesn’t matter what is your mission to identifying and gaining the devotion of your target audience is the necessary means to reaching those objectives. Your target audience is very important in the achieving of goal. It’s really beneficial in the long run. You are require to conducting a market analysis. By knowing your target audience you can be more confident in the steps to take to fix with that audience. By focusing on your abilities you can promote your brand through your content. Here are some questions that you should ask to yourself before writing.
I would like to leave you with one last though when targeting your audience in your articles. It is a good idea to re-read your articles from the perspective of a reader while in the editing process. Make sure that it captures your attention. You want to be sure to give complete thoughts in your writing. For instance, I have had acne ever since I was a teenager. I wanted a solution to this problem, and when my network marketing company began offering an acne solution that worked wonders for my skin, I decided to market that product to other people who had problems with acne, just like me.

I’ll use my acne example to illustrate.
This network marketing strategy makes the most sense to me, because I already have a great understanding of my target market. (Other acne sufferers)
Why?
Because I am a member of that market group. I can relate on a very personal level with people who struggle with acne. Therefore it is much easier for me to understand what acne sufferers really want and communicate that message to them.

Yes, on the surface people in my target market want clear acne free skin.
That is obvious.

I had to ask myself the hard questions to understand what acne sufferers really wanted. I had to find out what I really wanted from clearing my skin.
Would clear skin mean I didn’t have to cake on make up anymore?
Would it mean I didn’t have to be embarrassed when I had a breakout?
Would it mean I’d fit in and feel more comfortable in social situations?
Understand the EMOTIONS behind why your prospect is looking for the solution they seek. Successful marketers understand that we all buy for emotional reasons, so tap into your prospect’s emotions.
By leading with YOUR own hot button, you have a much deeper “emotional” understanding of your potential customers.
What does that mean for you and your business.
That means you automatically have an upper hand to your competition who has not personal experience with the product you are marketing.

I just referred out a project to a PR person the other day that could have been 00’s of dollars in my pocket but you know what? The project wasn’t in my scope of the type of business I wanted anymore.
I used to take on projects like that (up until even this last February) but now I am much more focused on what and where I really want to spend my time and who I want to spend it with.
The client still hired me for a small portion of the project but with doing what I love to do – give feedback on their website to maximize that, write a couple follow up marketing letters to get the word out and to organize and write an email marketing campaign including working with some of their power partners.
This is the type of marketing I LOVE TO DO! I’ve learned that no matter what the amount of money I could make on a project, if it isn’t something I really want or love to do, then it will stress me out because I won’t want to get it done.
So why do that to someone (the client) and why do that to myself?
Just like I wrote in that article a few weeks ago – about being your true authentic self – I am truly living it and loving every minute of it.
You can do this too if you just DECIDE TO.
It can be hard if you’re struggling for money but I’ll tell you, it’s totally worth it if you can bite the bullet for a little while – the jobs you are meant to have and the people you are meant to work with will come but YOU MUST BELIEVE!
Who is your IDEAL TARGET MARKET and WHY?
- Who is the most obvious and most likely person or company to buy your products or services?
- How can you really narrow it down so that you know EXACTLY who and what that person/company looks like?
- What are the easiest products or services to sell for you?
- What do you love doing the most?
- How can you structure or reposition your business model so that you are only servicing the customers you like working with that will actually pay you and benefit most from your products or services?
- What changes can you make so that your marketing materials – your website, brochures, flyers, mailers, email newsletters and even your business cards – project the EXACT MESSAGE that will best attract that SPECIFIC TARGET AUDIENCE and make them take action and buy the products and services YOU WANT to sell?
Ask yourself these questions and really BE TRUE TO YOUR TARGET.
I know you will find that you will instantly attract the kind of clients you WANT and the ones you don’t want won’t come around any more. But you must BELIEVE and TAKE ACTION to make a few mind changes and marketing shifts.

It is a proven fact that the headline is the most important part of any advertisement. No matter how good the rest of your copy is, if your headline stinks your ad will fail. It’s that simple.
How can so few lines of copy be so important? Because the headline is your first (and often last) chance to make an impression on a reader. It needs to grab the reader by the collar and make it impossible for him to continue without reading the rest of your message. If your headline fails the rest of your copy will never even be read.

In Scientific Advertising, the legendary Claude Hopkins uses newspaper headlines to demonstrate the importance of targeting your headline just right:
“Suppose a newspaper article stated that a certain woman was the most beautiful woman in the city. That article would be of intense interest to that woman and her friends. But neither she nor her friends would ever read it if the headline was ‘Egyptian Psychology’”.
For a more contemporary example, we can look to Google AdWords.
Let’s say you run a website that sells specialty teas. You want to drive some traffic to a special you’re having on a delicious Earl Grey.
You can only use a limited number of characters for your headline so you have to choose your words carefully. You could use a headline that simply stated what your site is about, such as “Specialty Teas”, but the traffic you’d receive would not be very targeted.
You’d likely get a lot of “tire-kickers” who are just browsing or looking for free information. Since you pay for each visitor, you’d be spending good advertising money on poor quality traffic.
Instead you could try something like “Earl Grey Sale Ends Today”.
This simple example off the top of my head shows how you would target someone looking for earl grey tea.
Someone searching for “earl grey” sees your ad and immediately knows:
1. You have the exact product they’re looking for
2. They can save money because you’re having a sale
3. The sale ends today so they have to act fast!
That’s a lot of information packed into 5 little words. See how tightly targeted it is? The people who click on your ad will be very likely to buy from you.
And people who are only interested in free information about chamomile tea will know not to bother – they are not your buyer anyhow.
