Beginners’ Internet Marketing Tips – 3 Secrets Of Taking Control Of An Internet Marketing Business
Beginners’ Internet Marketing Tips – 3 Secrets Of Taking Control Of An Internet Marketing Business
Most beginners in internet marketing start learning about their business from a starting point of zero knowledge. Working on the internet is nothing like anything else you have ever experienced. It is a big understatement to say that there is a lot to learn; the learning curve is huge. Everything is new and confusing; a lot of things are quite frightening.
The sheer volume of advice and information aimed at internet marketing beginners can cause confusion. This confusion contributes to the reason so many newbies give up before they get started on the real work of internet marketing. Panic can easily build up when you need to make decisions about things you never knew existed before today.
Panic = lack of control.
How can you take control of your internet marketing business?
Learn the 3 secrets to taking control of an internet marketing business.
Secret number 1: Many of the promotions you receive will do the same thing. They might even do the same thing in exactly the same way. If you don’t have any prior experience of working online, you won’t be able to see this.
Take choosing an autoresponder as an example. You get to know the basics of what an autoresponder is for, and you understand that you need one for your business. Until you start marketing, you will only have a vague idea of how you will want to make use of it. For instance, will you want to build one subscriber list or several?
You might be tempted to choose a system offering multiple options. This is not necessarily a wise move and it can incur unnecessary expense that will injure your cash flow. I’ll explain why this is so.
If you are a beginner at internet marketing, you might spend your first year concentrating on building one list in one particular niche. If you are paying a fee to have multiple lists, this is a waste of money. It is better to choose the most basic item that will do the job. Later, when your business expands, and outgrows this system, you can move your contact list to a different autoresponder company if necessary. You will, however, find that most companies have different scales of membership and all you will need to do is upgrade to the next level.
Secret number 2: Price does not always reflect true value. You will be invited to join any number of programs that promise to help you make money. Membership fees vary enormously. Some of the least expensive programs offer great value for money. Some of the high price ones deliver a good service, but are not actually giving good value for the price they charge.
You won’t be guaranteed to get the best by paying the highest price. Two of the best beginners’ internet marketing training courses I have tested are two of the cheapest ones I have seen online. Then again I have tried another one that is equally as good, but which comes with a jaw-dropping price ticket. When you are starting out think basic and buy basic. The option to upgrade is one of the marvels of internet life.
Secret number 3: The most important aspect of making money online is not who teaches you, it is how you apply what you learn. There are many people offering online training courses for internet marketing beginners. Pick one mentor, and stick with that mentor until you fully understand how internet marketing works.
The key to making money online is to be consistent. You might not pick the greatest internet marketing coach in the world, but you won’t be able to judge until you get some experience. Don’t get sidetracked by a new flashy program (shiny new things are an everyday distraction when you work online). You will not work consistently and effectively if you constantly bounce around trying out a bit of one program and part of another. You will do better working systematically through the teachings of a mediocre coach that you would by chopping and changing between various systems.
Online coaches and gurus are individuals and their style of teaching varies a great deal. When choosing a mentor or internet marketing coach pick one who makes you feel comfortable. Don’t enrol with a coach or marketing guru who promises easy results for beginners. Internet marketing requires some hard work if you are going to become successful working online. “Opportunity is missed by most people because it comes dressed in overalls and looks like work.”
Get ready to put on those beginners’ internet marketing overalls and get down to work.

Social Media is here to stay. We:
⢠Twitter, in 140 characters or less, what we are doing.
⢠Post updates, pictures, movies and more in Facebook.
⢠Answer questions and make connections in LinkedIn.
⢠Blog and participate in other social media efforts.
What is the gain by these efforts? An increase in business? More Facebook Fans? Engaging customers?
First, let’s make sure you’re participating in social media. You company should be using some – if not all – of the following tools:
⢠Facebook. There are currently over 300 million active accounts in Facebook. Individuals create Profiles. Businesses create Pages.
Task: Conduct a search for your competition in Facebook. Are they actively participating? How many Fans do they have?
⢠Twitter. Keep your customers and clients up-to-date on your business’ daily activities, news, tips, service, help, FAQs, etc.
Task: Start a Twitter account and search for topics of interest to find people to follow. Observe and then participate.
⢠LinkedIn. If you do not have a LinkedIn account, you need to start one today. Participating in the Answers section helps your status as an authority in your field.
Task: Create an Individual LinkedIn account and a Business account.
⢠Blog. A must in today’s online efforts. If your company doesn’t have a blog, you need to start one. Now!
Task: Start a blog today.
⢠YouTube. If YouTube were a search engine, it would be the second largest one behind Google. Your company should create a YouTube Channel for educational, promotional and sales videos.
Task: Search YouTube for videos in your industry.
Second, if your company is already participating in any of the above social media tools (or similar efforts), it’s time to take your company’s participation to the next level. This process is called “social media optimization.”
With Social Media Optimization (SMO), there are similar comparisons to SEO (Search Engine Optimization). Strategic SMO tactics can drive huge amounts of traffic to your website.
Ultimately, there are two primary goals with SMO:
⢠When searching Google for your company name, brand, products, services, etc., all search results in the Top 10 should be either your company’s website (a result of SEO) or your social media pages/accounts (a result of SMO).
For example, your company’s Facebook Page, Twitter account, LinkedIn account, blog, and website pages should all be listed in the Top 10 search results in Google.
⢠Customers and clients should be able to find your business in Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc., when searching by targeted keywords, events, brand, company name, etc.
For example, if you are a sheet metal supplier in Indiana, then potential customers should be able to find you through searches on the keyword “Indiana sheet metal suppliers”.
Of course, other goals could be customer service; handling complaints, etc. All-in-all, by participating in this space, you will be engaging with potential customers or with current customers.
So, where do you begin “optimizing” your SMO efforts? How do you take it to the next level and leave the social media 101 class in the dust? It starts with your company name, your brand name, your products and services and, more importantly, it begins with targeted keywords and content.
Remember whether you are in the B2C (Business to Consumer) industry or B2B (Business to Business) industry, all interactions are B2P (business to person). Social media allows your company to build stronger relationships with individuals to help grow business.
In Part II, we’ll get down to more specifics with Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, blogging, etc. In the meantime, review your “

Advertising Agencies Change Ways – Social Media Is Taking Over
Advertising Agencies Change Ways – Social Media Is Taking Over
In this day and age, a historic moment in time where the internet is taking over, advertising agencies are changing their ways and jumping aboard the social media bandwagon left and right. Unconventional forms of marketing are becoming conventional, and top ad agencies recognize such.
In particular, blogs or “blogging” has entered the forefront of social media marketing. I know the saying may be old school, but nowadays “everyone and their mama” has a blog. Millions of companies and regular old folks are blogging on a daily basis ranging from posts about how to smoke a rack of ribs to benefits of marketing online. Blogging is the most notable form of marketing in 2010, and will continue to be a leader as time goes on. Blogs, similar to social networks, respond to our genetically programmed want/need for human interaction. We want to associate with other human beings, and blogging allows for direct communication with individuals around the globe, which fills such a void.
Additionally, social networking is equally important. Twitter, Facebook and other social sites are some of the highest ranking websites on the internet, which I believe speaks for itself. Plus, Google and Bing are now displaying Twitter posts (aka Tweets) realtime in their search engines, so Twitter in particular has become not only a social media tool, but a tool for Search Engine Optimization (SEO). This is an area Aaron Schoenberger from The Brainchld Group has been researching since its conception, and Twitter SEO has proven to be a very effective tactic.
A critical part of any social media campaign is SEO. There are no ifs, ands or buts. The harsh reality is, the coolest social media campaign can fail if it receives limited exposure, and SEO focuses on achieving high rankings to combat failure. By obtaining targeted traffic via SEO, companies can be sure of success given high rankings and qualified, free visitors.
I am looking forward to the future and believe the entire advertising industry will, at a certain point, go online. Books and magazines are slowly being phased out and replaced with iPads and Amazon Kindles. Television commercials will slowly fade away as the internet and TV merge. All of this is inevitable.
Sincerely,
Aaron Schoenberger

Amazon’s Kindle is Taking the World by Storm in 7 Ways
Amazon’s Kindle is Taking the World by Storm in 7 Ways
Kindle caught the people by surprise, but it was a very pleasant entry. In fact, it was welcomed with open arms that, until today, Amazon still has to advise their customers to wait. There are no more left for anyone to enjoy.
What makes Kindle tick? Here are 7 reasons:
1. It gives you wireless connection. If youâre fond of Wikipedia, blogs, and other online reading materials, then Kindle is the one youâre looking for. This feature, though still in its experimental stage, also provides Kindle an edge over its mighty competitor, Sony Reader. You can also skip looking for a Wi-Fi hotspot as you can still browse without any WiFi connection. You can also piggyback on the present networks for cell phone, and you donât even have to pay a single cent.
2. You can save your books. Do you have plans of reading your favorite novel in your PC rather than in Kindle? Thatâs actually no problem, as youâre provided with two ways to do that. First, you can make use of an SD card which you can remove from Kindle. You can also transfer the files from your device to your PC with the use of a USB cable.
3. It prevents eye strain. One of the greatest disadvantages of reading books in your PC is the fact that you have to actually squint your eyes to protect your vital part of the body from the glare. Too much of it can definitely cause eye strain. With Kindle, however, utilizes the e-ink technology, which means words appear as if theyâre written with ink. You can actually read your favorite news articles or blogs even if youâre under direct sunlight. Moreover, everything appears sharp and very clear.
4. It physical attributes is A+. It may not be the most beautiful device in the world, but still, itâs still so lightweight, weighing only 10.3 ounces. This makes them very comfortable to carry around. Whatâs more, you can also maximize the sizes of fonts. This is very much helpful for people who are accustomed with reading materials with specific font size.
5. Your choices are varied. In line with its signature books, Amazonâs Kindle has far better books that you will surely enjoy reading in your spare time than its counterpart, Sony Reader. Theyâre also fairly priced, considering that thereâs actually no hassle of sitting in front of your PC and logging into your Amazon account just so you can place an order. Moreover, Kindle can also archive all of your previous purchases just in case you want to re-download an ordered book.
6. Itâs compatible with MAC. There arenât a lot of products that can instantly claim that they can work well with MAC, but Amazonâs Kindle did, and it definitely delivers. Thus, people who are so fond of such types of PCs can also take delight in not only books, but blogs, newspapers, and magazines as well.
7. Kindle is everything-made-easy. First of all, it contains a Home button, which is very important. As you know, you can get drowned of the immense collection of reading materials. You can also create some notes and edit them, which makes Kindle such a perfect partner for college students.

Copywriting is Not Archery: Taking Aim at the Hidden Heart of Your Prospect
Copywriting is Not Archery: Taking Aim at the Hidden Heart of Your Prospect
Your prospect is actively hiding from you.
One of the biggest mistakes you can make when choosing a copywriter is to hire one the same way you’d pick a champion archer.
In archery, you should look for the bowman with the strongest shooting arm, heaviest bow, straightest arrows, keenest eagle-eye, most number of arrows in their quiver and steadiest aim.
Many businesses look for the copywriter who knows the most techniques, the best persuasion methods, the most killer headlines, the most tempting offers and the most satisfying guarantees.
What’s the problem with that?
Archers have it easy — their targets stand still. The bullseye is obvious.
The copywriter’s toughest — yet most important — job is simply to FIND their target — the prospect!
Prospects are not standing stationary in one open area, for all to see . . .
No, your prospect is going about their life. They are totally uninterested in advertising EXCEPT for the small part of their brain which is biologically hardwired to be on the lookout for solutions to the problems of their life.
THAT is the copywriter’s target — the prospect’s desire for a better life.
If the copywriter does not hit the prospect square in the middle of his needs and desires — the ad fails. To get through to the prospect’s self-interest, you must hit them with a benefit they need in a way that’s new, interesting and credible.
Then — and only then — do the other aspects of copywriting (headline, lead, Big Promise, testimonials, offer, guarantee and so on) matter.
A copywriter can write a headline that reads terrific — great benefits, arouses curiousity, gets the reader’s attention, makes a wonderful promise, sounds really really good.
That is, it seems like a great headline to other copywriters.
But if it isn’t aimed at the target market, it’s a failure.
That can be a problem while you’re learning copywriting. You read a letter by a terrific copywriter, you think it sounds terrific . . . but if you’re not part of the target market, you don’t really know.
That’s why it’s important for copywriters to learn from sample sales letters that have been proven in their marketplaces.
That’s why copywriters need to be careful what they swipe and how they swipe.
If a copywriter tries to apply the appeal of a proven health headline to a financial package, it may not work because the markets are different.
So it’s better to swipe from proven sales letters or ads in the market you’re aiming at.
If you swipe from outside your market, swipe structure but not emotional appeals, promises or benefits.
If the copywriter can’t aim their copy at the bulls eye of the prospect’s self-interest, they’re no better than a archer who shoots arrows at the sky.

Facebook Taking Over the Internetz
Facebook is the most popular social network in the world, but that’s not quite enough for them. Finally ready to venture outside their walled garden, Facebook may be unveiling a decentralized version of their site that allows Facebook users to interact on on other sites around the web. But does this mean Facebook’s ready to cede control of its users, or is it just extending its greedy grasp further?
Says the New York Times:
Details of Facebook’s plans — which involve a variation on its “Share” button, already prevalent on many sites — are expected to be introduced by Mark Zuckerberg, the company’s chief executive, on Wednesday during its conference here for third-party developers. But even before Facebook makes its plans public, its aim to become a social networking force across the Web is facing competition.
The NYT notes that Google and MySpace are part of a coalition led by Meebo to standardized data portability, and Twitter’s @anywhere platform shows a similar move to decentralization.
The New York Times predicts more about Facebook’s coming changes (Facebook declines to comment):
For instance, Facebook will introduce a universal “Like” button that Web publishers will be able to put on their pages. Similar to the Facebook “Share” buttons that are already popular with many Web sites, the “Like” buttons will make it easier for Web publishers to offer more social experiences, in essence allowing Facebook friends to enjoy those sites together.
While “Share” buttons allow users to post links that their friends see on their Facebook pages, those links are fleeting. The Like button will allow Facebook to keep a record of what a user linked to, providing the company with ever more data about people’s preferences. Facebook, in turn, plans to share that data with Web publishers, so that a magazine Web site, for instance, may be able to show users all the articles that their friends like. A site like Yelp may show reviews from a user’s friends, rather than those from strangers.
Facebook may also be planning to bring its toolbar to other sites as well—a potential bone of contention with the other major coalition, since Meebo’s main offering is also a toolbar.
I like the idea of showing your friends’ reviews on Yelp above random strangers’, but the privacy concessions required to make the NYT’s predictions a reality are sure to be met with strong opposition.
What do you think? Will Facebook try to take over the web this week? Or is that yet to come?

Taking Advantage of Advanced Learning on Internet Marketing
When you are enjoying moderate success in Internet marketing by just following the basic principles, is it enough to be content on that level of success? For many people, it is quite adequate to earn income on the side through Internet marketing. However, for people who want to make serious profits about this business, the basic principles cannot suffice.
Maybe you are one of those people. Maybe you are earning some good money from just following the basic principles of Internet marketing that you may have learned from websites like Profit Lance or Wealthy Affiliate. And maybe you are wondering how you can go beyond the basics and earn more for yourself.
For that, you will need to learn advanced techniques on Internet marketing. There are many websites that provide this learning. But there are two prerequisites that you must observe in order for you to gain the advanced knowledge that is necessary for you to go beyond the basics of Internet marketing. These two prerequisites are:
1. You have to have more than just a passing familiarity with the basic concepts of what Internet marketing is all about. There are learning programs that can be found online that can teach you all the advanced knowledge that you need to know about Internet marketing, but these always assume that you already know the basics. One such example of a learning program is The Rich Jerk.
2. You have to be willing to work hard and do the steps as delineated in the learning program of your choice. No matter how easy and effective your choice of learning program is, it will not work for you if you do not do what it says you should do.
There is a third prerequisite if you are the type who gets offended easily. The third prerequisite would be to accept whatever you learn with humility. Some learning programs can take on an arrogant tone, such as that of The Rich Jerk, and can easily offend your sensibilities. Take your personal sensitivity aside for a while and focus on the learning.
Once you already have the prerequisites in place, then you choose a learning program that works for you. A lot of advanced learning programs on Internet marketing come in e-book form that is constantly updated and comes with a 24-hour customer support. Oftentimes they also come in audio forms for those who prefer to listen than to read.
There are also advanced learning programs that come with a one-on-one mentoring system. This is for people who really are serious about wanting to earn serious money through Internet marketing. They get in touch with the author of the e-book and go through a personal mentorship program that can last for six months or so. The best way of learning how advanced Internet marketing is done is by learning it personally from an expert.
If you really want to earn considerable amounts of cash from Internet marketing, there is nothing preventing you from pursuing it. The only decision you have to make is whether pursuing it is worth it for you or not.

Such editors indirectly encourage extensive use of nested tables to position design elements. As designers edit their documents in these editors, code is added to the document which is sometimes unnecessary. Furthermore, unskilled designers may use tables more than required when using a WYSIWYG editor. As the dotcom boom receded in 2001 and the Web development industry shrank, coders with more industry experience were in higher demand. In a large number of cases UI development was carried out by coders with greater knowledge of good coding practice. These advantages are Accessibility, Bandwidth Efficient, and Maintainability.AccessibilityAs a result of the separation of design (CSS) and structure (HTML), it is also possible to provide different layouts for different devices, e.g. handhelds, mobile phones, etc. It is also possible to specify a different style sheet for print, e.g. to hide or modify the appearance of advertisements or navigation elements that are irrelevant and a nuisance in the printable version of the page.Bandwidth EfficientUsing external style sheets to position page elements means more mark up language may be cached and further reduce download times for subsequent pages using the same resources. Poor implementation of tableless design can result in many more lines of code used per page element which can increase download time. Tables have a defined set of rules which are clear and concise while tableless design often involves working around browser inconsistencies.MaintainabilityIn tableless layout using CSS, virtually all of the layout information resides in one place: the CSS document. Because the layout information is centralized, these changes can be made quickly and globally by default. The HTML files themselves do not, usually, need to be adjusted when making layout changes. Taking the Fear Out of Ezine Marketing
Electronic magazines (Ezines) and online newsletters are quickly supplanting their in-print ancestors, especially as more and more people first turn to the Internet when trying to gather information on a specific subject.
Ezines are also an integral part of website marketing since they work so successfully in building traffic, identifying qualified prospects, spreading “news,” and encouraging both repeat and up-sell purchases. Additionally, since they contain what is perceived as important and valuable information on a subject, Ezines and online newsletters are great for establishing yourself as an expert in your field.
Many website owners think that Ezines are solely for marketing and sales-oriented websites but nothing could be further from the truth. Although they are invaluable to those types of websites, no matter what the focus of your content there is always an audience waiting to learn more about the subject. Importantly an online newsletter can help turn your website into a profitable enterprise since there are lots of ways to make money from it, even if you don’t directly sell products.
For example, you can carry Google provided advertising or solicit ads from companies that market to the type of readers you’ve attracted. Additionally, since Ezines are perceived as “news,” rather than advertising, they also allow a website owner to appear impartial even when he or she is not; this opens up a myriad of promotional and endorsement possibilities that can help optimize profits.
All this said it’s clear that just about every website could benefit from having an Ezine. The biggest obstacle most people face in adding this service for readers is their own misconceptions that developing, writing, publishing and managing an Ezine are beyond their capabilities. They simply don’t know where to start.
Luckily, Mike Filsaime has taken his incredible expertise and pulled it together into an ebook, “Ezine Marketing 4 Newbies.” Like his other “…4 Newbies” guides, this one is chock full of information, techniques and step-by-step guides to get novices up and running a successful Ezine in no time.
The book covers all the fundamentals, from determining your Ezine niche, to finding appropriate third-party content, writing your own articles, actually publishing your Ezine and – importantly – how to add the interactive elements that build reader loyalty and website visits. You’ll also find a wealth of information and highly successful tools to use in marketing your Ezine or newsletter and building your email list by leaps and bounds.
