The Benefits Of Plr Content For Long Tail Keywords

The Benefits Of Plr Content For Long Tail Keywords

Over the period of the last 10 years the progression of traffic attainability has consistently changed. Finally webmasters are starting to understand the real benefit behind ‘long tail’ keywords for their sites.

So what are long tail keywords?

Long tail keywords are extensions of your main keyword past the top 20-30 in your results. For example if you run a keyword search for dogs, the first 20-30 most searched keywords are classified as the ‘top keywords’ and anything below that are our long tails.

The real benefit of long tail keywords lies in the amount of competition they have, or lack there of! You will notice that your top keywords are generally quite competitive and therefore require more advanced linking strategies to bring the page you are targeting to the top of the search engines. A page that targets a low competitive, long tail keyword however will be far easier to dominate in the search engines.

Ok so you’re probably thinking, “why do I care about a keyword that only brings me a minimal amount of visitors, wouldn’t it be better to get to the top of ‘dogs’ rather than ‘dog training in New York’? Definitely! However that doesn’t mean you can’t create a bunch of pages that target all your low competitive, long tail keywords as well.

Let me put it into context for you. Let’s say you have a page for dogs that you are constantly linking back too, in attempt to bring it to the top of the search engines. This of course may take months the gain enough links before Google, MSN or Yahoo believe you have enough to earn your place in their top 10.

What if at the same time you created a whole bunch of pages that were targeted towards your long tail keywords? The answer is you would be up sometimes in a matter of days. Now you may only get a couple of visitors a day to each particular page, but let’s say you have 20 pages that all get 3 visitors a day. That’s an extra 60 visitors daily to your site, and all you did was put up a few of pages.

Now this article’s called “The Benefits of PLR Content for Long Tail Keywords” and for good reason. Now we’ve already found out the importance of utilizing long tails on your site, but what about getting those pages up?

Well the easiest thing to do would be to write an article, targeting the specific keyword and just throwing it up on your blog. Now I don’t know about you, but it would take me a lot of time to write 20 articles on topics that I know nothing about. So how can you get around this? The answer is PLR content, which stands for private label rights content.

PLR content is content that you pay for the rights to use. Basically all this means is you pay for articles that someone else wrote, which you are allowed to put it up on your site without any reference to the author.

One of the best things about PLR content is that each article already targets a specific long tail keyword for the particular niches they are written about. This means perfect keyword density (number of times a keyword shows up on a page, 1-3% is ideal) and of course the keyword is found in the title.

Now all you have to do is submit the articles to your site (submitting articles twice a week is ideal for search engine spiders) and in no time you’ll start see your traffic begin to increase progressively.

The main reason why PLR content is so idea for targeting long tail keywords is because the time it takes to write an article from scratch, or the cost to get a good quality article written, is far greater than spending the 10 minutes or so rewriting an existing PLR article for that keyword.

Using Google’s Keyword Tool to Find Long Tail Keywords

Using Google’s Keyword Tool to Find Long Tail Keywords

Keyword research is an art form. If you have the fundamentals of IM and can master keyword research and keyword utilization you will make money online.

It’s important to remember that these days, Internet Marketing is all about Google. Google is the gateway for the internet for most people.

If people are looking for information on the web, the first place most people look is Google. And if you are an informational marketer, Google should be your best friend.

With Google it’s all about the keywords. Google is built off of keywords, and key phrases. Since this is the only way Google can figure out what the user is looking for.

Keyword research therefore is hugely important. You can find “profitable keywords” for your niche that doesn’t have much competition and you could literally write yourself a check.

You would then use these keywords and either attack it with Search Engine Optimization (SEO) or AdWords (Google’s text advertisement system).

SEO is trying to get on the #1 result, or get on the first page of Google for your various keyword of choice. With AdWords, you are trying to create profitable Campaigns with good CTR’s (click thru rate) and high sales conversions. With AdWords you will pay to be on the first page of Google, SEO is organic and takes more time usually.

A good way to figure out which keywords to target for your website is to:

1) Use Google’s Keyword Tool.

https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal

Click, ‘Website Content’ and enter in your website address.

This basically grabs all the relevant keywords that Google thinks is relevant to your website.

2) Grab the results then put it back into Google’s “Descriptive words or phrases” search.

This will output the keywords Google thinks is similar to the keywords that are relevant to your site.

If your AdWords campaign uses these keywords, your cost per click would be lower, because your site is more relevant.

With SEO, if the keyword you’re targeting for SEO purposes is already the keywords Google associate with your site, you stand a much higher chance of ranking for those keywords.

Making Money Online: Long Tail and Latent Semantic Indexing (lsi) Keywords

Making Money Online: Long Tail and Latent Semantic Indexing (lsi) Keywords

If you want to get any kind of traffic to your website or blog, you must use keyword phrases in your content.

Is this the only way to get traffic?

No, but it’s the best free way to attract visitors to your site.

Using a free or paid keyword tool, you will type in the word you want to target and see what results come up. Usually you’ll get a long list of keyword phrases that you can use for your content. At first glance this list looks great, but are all these phrases really going to produce the results you want?

No.

The next step in your keyword research education is learning about Long Tail Keywords and Latent Semantic Indexing (LSI) keywords. These are two additional elements to keyword research that you must know in order to get the maximum results from your efforts. This knowledge alone can put you miles above your less informed competition.

Long Tail Keywords

While doing your online marketing research, you will often come across discussions about long tail keywords. Okay, so what are they?

Long tail means, not so popular or low hanging fruit. Basically some keyword phrases are more popular than others. The more popular phrases naturally produce the most searches, and therefore, the potential for bigger traffic numbers. However, because of their popularity, every Tom, Joe and Mary will be using them in their content.

This means that the competition to rank well in the search engines for the most popular keyword phrases will be pretty stiff. So, what’s an eager internet marketer to do?

Go for the low hanging fruit, of course. Yeah, this means you’ll be giving up huge chunks of potential traffic, but your odds of ranking in the top 20 for those phrases are pretty slim to begin with so, why not give yourself a better advantage?

You can dramatically increase your chances of ranking in the top 20 results by using long tail keywords.

Here’s how to look for these gems:

Lets use the keyword – mortgage.

You go to your keyword tool and type in – mortgage. You get the following results:

Mortgage rates = 9617 searches per day

Home mortgage – 1798 searches per day

Mortgage how much can I borrow = 298 searches per day

How low can 30 year fixed mortgage interest rates go = 19 searches per day

Okay, here’s how you’re going to analyze your results and quickly decide whether or not these keyword phrases are good choices.

Go to Google and do a search for each of the above keyword phrases – make sure you put them in quotation marks i.e. “mortgage rates”.

By using quotation marks, you’ll get an accurate picture of how many sites are using those exact same keyword phrases. The fewer sites using these phrases, the better your chances of ranking in the top tier of search engine results.

Here’s the results of our Google search:

“Mortgage rates” = 51,300,000 competing pages

“Home mortgage” = 43,300,000 competing pages

“Mortgage how much can I borrow” = 16,500 competing pages

“How low can 30 year fixed mortgage interest rates go” = 0 competing pages

Mortgage Rates and Home Mortgage gets thousands of searches per day, but look at your competition. Wow. There’s just no way you are going to rank well for those two phrases. The best thing to do is forget about them. Move on down the line to find some low hanging fruit.

Ideally, you want to find phrases that have under 50,000 competing pages.

Mortgage how much can I borrow has 298 searches per day and only 16,500 competing pages.

How low can 30 year fixed mortgage interest rates go has 19 searches per day and zero competing pages.

If your niche is mortgage and you put these two excellent phrases on your site, you will be in prime position to rank well. You may get less traffic for these, but these people are just as hungry for information as all those bigger traffic people. Using long tail keywords can result in getting highly targeted traffic to your site.

Latent Semantic Indexing (LSI) Keywords

LSI is something that is fairly new on the scene. Google and other search engines are now taking LSI into account when ranking web pages, so this is something you need to know about.

LSI is basically a set of related keywords that are sprinkled throughout your web page content, or article, in a completely natural way. These words tell the search engines that your content has a high relevancy value to people looking for certain information.

Kwbrows.com is a good free tool that can help you find LSI keywords.

Let’s find some LSI keywords for – mortgage.

Here are the results:

FHA, mortgage loan, second mortgage, mortgage broker, mortgages, interest, calculator, bank.

Using these words throughout your content, in addition to regular keywords, can result in higher search engine rankings for your website pages.

Finding Long Tail Keywords For High Search Engine Ranking

Finding Long Tail Keywords For High Search Engine Ranking

The search for long tail keywords is an essential component of an affiliate training for beginners because money is rather made with niche than with mass products. Well researched keywords determine your success and profit, and are responsible for high search engine ranking. The question here is how to find long tail keywords for niches that will make money long term.

Long tail versus short tail keywords

Since Google became so popular in 2003, keywords became part of Google’s success as they made the use of the internet so easy. Short tail keywords are very unspecific, and general. People who search for short tail keywords in Google are actually not in the buying mood. The art is to find keywords that will make you money in a niche, called long tail keywords because people search for them specifically, they look for a solution to a specific problem. This task that seems so simple involves a lot of work, and asks for some attention and diligence because this is part of the basics that you need to master in an online training course for beginners.

The importance of long tail keywords

Long tail keywords are golden. They are specific phrases, and the more specific you are in their search the better. When thinking about keywords, put yourself into potential buyer’s shoes, and think about keywords they would search for when searching for ‘aquarium’. For the term ‘aquarium’ you will find over 10 Million sites dealing with this topic, and half a million searches. If you would chose ‘aquarium’ as your designated keyword, then your website, blog, or article would be completely lost in the big shark pool. You would be competing against too many other sites.

Benefits of long tail keywords

higher conversions easier ranking more visitors more sales, more cash

Keywords and Latent Semantic Indexing (LSI)

In order to achieve high search engine ranking, keywords have to be chosen according to certain criteria. Google works in your best interest when you group words together that have the same semantic root (LSI), this means that you have to pull ‘theme words’ together. Under ‘aquarium’ you will find ’salt water aquarium’ and under this, ’salt water aquarium coral’, ’salt water aquarium cleaning’, ’salt water aquarium tanks’, ’salt water aquarium designs’, and so on. These long tail keywords you need to include in your site as Google will love you for that, and pay you with high search engine ranking.

Keywords Effectiveness Index (KEI)

When choosing the main keyword for your site, you need to compare and analyze the ratio of competition to search volume. The more competitors, and the less people searching for the keywords, the harder it gets for your site to be found. A favorable KEI would be a lower number of competitors (>10000), and a reasonable search volume (<320). The recommended keyword density is 3 to 4 %, so you use your chosen core keyword 3 to 4 times in a 100 words. When writing a text, the long tail keyword has to appear in the title and as anchor text in the main text body to achieve high search engine ranking.

Making Good Use Of Long Tail Keywords

Making Good Use Of Long Tail Keywords

Keyword research is one of the most important work to be done when optimizing your site. Here, you need to find the best keywords to use for your pages. However, that’s really the end of it. As it turns out, there is still plenty of keywords, other than the high ranked ones, that will prove as effective when used properly.

And this is long tail research comes. Those not too familiar with SEO work will probably wonder what this term and its counterpart, short tail keyword, mean. At the simplest, this two terms refer to the groupings that optimizers make of their list of keywords. These are based on the ability of the keywords to generate traffic from searches made about them.

Short tail keywords are search terms that can individually generate big amounts of traffic. These keywords are usually the more generic terms that are easily recognized and remembered by internet users. And since most users only bother with a few select keywords, the list is quite limited, hence the term short tail.

On the other end, long tail keywords are the terms that are still related to the subject being searched, but are not often used. This are usually the more specific search terms that are often several words long, which users find hard to recall. Long tail keywords account for the bulk of terms that are related to a subject, but often account for less than five percent of the search traffic for a certain subject. The term long tail comes from the fact that keyword density graphs show these as a long “tail” trailing behind higher ranked keywords.

This doesn’t mean, however, that it isn’t worth the time to optimize for long tail keywords. On the contrary, doing so will actually be very helpful in generating more traffic to your site. This is because their combined traffic is quite considerable. All you need is a good strategy to handle them.

The first thing that you need to do is to find these keywords. This is quite easily, since all you have to do is look at your keywords list and see what terms are generating the least amount of traffic. As have been said, these are usually the more specific terms for your subject. Another good source of long tail keywords are alternate spellings (such as long tail and long-tail), an even misspellings, of your high ranked keywords (for example long tale).

Once you have determined your long tail keywords, it’s now time to make use of them. Optimization pretty much follows the same way that you do it for your top keywords. One thing that you need to keep in mind is that you need to make the words a bit more prominent if you want them to be searched. Place them in areas that are crawled first by spiders, such as headings and page titles. Also be sure to make these prominent in your pages’ content. Don’t overdo it though, as you might actually end up with something that has a low page rank.

Long tail keyword phrases can bring in more visitors than a single, more popular search term,as you will be able to rank higher for those specific long term keywords.

Using Long Tail Keywords To Your Advantage

Using Long Tail Keywords To Your Advantage

A keyword is a simple word or phrase that is typed into the search engine by a user looking for information. For example if a searcher was looking for information on family photography tips, they might use some of the following common search terms.

family photography
photography tips
taking photos

If you used a keyword research tool like Wordtracker, you would discover that these phrases are very popular search terms. In fact, if you built a web page that focused on any of the keywords above, you would have a very difficult time ranking in the top 10 on Google’s search results page?

Why? Because the competition for general keywords can be fierce. Keyword competition is defined using the term Supply. If a keyword phrase as a high supply, it means that there are many web pages out there that are using this keyword. The higher the supply, the more the competition.

Long Tail Keywords are simply the longer and more targeted phrases that people type into the search engines. In our photography keyword example above, we looked at a few very general competitive keywords. Here are some long tail keywords relating to photography.

night time photography tips
eliminate blinking from photos
removing red eye from photos

Do you see the difference? Long tail keywords are much more targeted to a specific sub topic. The nice thing about discovering long tail keywords in your particular niche is that they typically have a much lower level of competition, so it is easier to rank in the top ten in the search engine results.

Another advantage is that long tail keywords bring in much more targeted traffic. While the keyword ‘family photography’ may be a very competitive keyword for photography sites, the traffic brought in by such a keyword will be pretty broad. By comparison, someone finding your site through the long tail keyword ‘eliminate blinking from photos’ is looking for specific information. If you can provide that information, you stand a much better chance of building trust and confidence with this visitor and converting them to a newsletter signup, registration or purchase.

Someone that gets to your site via a long tail keyword is typically ready to pull the trigger on some type of purchase or action. We say that they are “late” in their buying cycle. In addition, you’ll find it easier to achieve a top ten ranking at the search engines for long tail keywords. By sprinkling them into your page copy, you are more likely to pull in traffic that converts at a higher rate. The downside is that long tail phrases will typically not generate the high traffic numbers of more general keywords. But remember, the more general keywords are much more competitive.

If you use an analytics package like Google Analytics, you’ll actually be able to see the types of long tail keywords that people typed in to get to your site. While long tail keywords can make up 50% or more of your traffic, many of them will only be one-time traffic generators.

So then, is it possible to research and target long tail keywords when writing your web pages? The answer is ‘yes’ and ‘no.’

First off, if you write good original content that is genuinely helpful to your target market, you’ll automatically weave in long tail keywords without even trying. As your page content grows, visitors will get to your site through more and more of these long tail phrases. In other words, the tail will grow longer and longer. In fact, you’ll find visitors getting to your site using search phrases that you would have never thought of yourself. This is the value of focusing each of your content pages on a specific topic that provides valuable information to a narrow target audience.

All hail the long tail!

What Are Long Tail Keywords Phrases

What Are Long Tail Keywords Phrases

Long tail keywords are a type of keyword phrase that has at leas three, and some times as many as five words in the phrase. Long tail keywords are used when the website wants to refine search terms to the web page, as well as when the searcher is looking for something rather specific. Like normal keywords, long tail keywords are used to define what is on the web page and what the publisher wants to be found under in search engines and on search engine results pages. These keywords are highly specific, and draw less traffic for the website, but tend to draw more quality traffic, which leads in more conversions than normal keywords. Long tail keywords can also be used by publishers and visitors in different ways.

Long tail keywords are 3 to 5 keyword phrases that are much more specific to the product or service that you are selling. These search phrases are used by people who are further along the decision making process and therefore much more likely to convert. E-commerce sites (online stores) need traffic to generate revenues. These stores can get this traffic via paid search (search engine marketing), but at the same time they should be putting effort in to organic SEO. Free traffic, even if untargeted is good traffic if it can lead to revenues or back links. Long tail keywords can often lead to traffic if spread across enough different phrases.

The basic definition of a long tail keyword (key phrase, search) is a keyword phrase that is extremely targeted to a specific niche so that it gets a small amount of extremely targeted traffic. The theory is that you can possibly get more overall traffic to your site by using a large amount of long tail keywords (all of the small traffic for each one being added together) than you can using a small amount of general keyword terms. Basically, long tail would be the dozens and dozens of keywords and keyword phrases that a website is found for, but are not considered a large focus of your marketing efforts.

There are many free keyword tools out there. Both Google and Yahoo offer these tools too. They will show you the most relevant long tail keywords according to the search volumes that match your single keyword.

Analytical SEO tools can help in selecting the best, most profitable and lucrative long tail keywords.

Writing quality content targeting such phrases can prove very lucrative and the increase in web site traffic generated collectively by choosing the right long tail keywords can meet or exceed the traffic generated by more competitive keywords. This is especially true when applied to new web sites and domains which have few quality links.

For an example of long tail keywords, let’s consider the SEO sector – “SEO consultant” is one example of a highly competitive search phrase, whilst “SEO consultant London” is an example of a less popular long tail keyword term

Long Tail Keywords are less popular, less searched for terms which when targeted collectively by a website can result in significant levels of traffic, leading to improved sales. The principle behind long tail keyword theory is to identify moderately popular search terms (with reasonably high search volumes) that people often need to go onto page 2, 3 or even 4 of the search results panels to find relevant results to their query. This implies that existing websites have poor quality content or little relevance to the search term.

Obviously creating content to match the possible long tail searches is probably the best way to go to accomplish long-term organic results. This is done by creating new web pages, using the long tail search term as the topic of the page, the page title, but then considerable content needs to be placed on that page to support the phrase or concept to rank well. It can be challenging, especially when you are a small business person and have so many other responsibilities to juggle.

Brainstorm a list of long tail keywords and use them! This may seem like obvious advice, but sometimes the simplest solution is overlooked. Try to come up with a list of keywords and phrases that really describe the content of your site, and start creating new content that includes the phrases. Especially with something like a blog that is just starting out, you need to keep adding new content frequently. Create new posts make sure that you are using your keywords and phrases in the titles, tags, and inside the post as well. The key here is to add this new content frequently, and add a lot of it. This will help you to start to increase your visibility on search engines, and start to attract new visitors to your site.

Whether you can achieve high rankings for competitive keywords or not, long tail keywords could be highly beneficial for you. If you have a website selling Armani Suits’ but can’t pull any search engine traffic, rather than targeting the keyword Armani’ or Armani Suits’ try targeting more specific keywords such as Armani Mens Suits’. Hopefully you will see an increase in conversions and sales.

Whether or not you plan to use keyword advertising, tools such as Google Ad Words Keyword Tool tell you the advertiser competition and search volume of keywords you enter (if they have data for them). When you enter a few keywords, it suggests additional keywords to consider. You can also search for keywords related to your site content by entering the URL of your site.

Google’s Search Based Keyword Tool – Monetize The Long Tail of Search

If you’ve tried to optimize for the search engines before, you’ve probably been frustrated to find that you can’t rank for the words you want. Say you sell windows. You will never be able to rank for “windows” or “window sales” unless you have a team of people doing search engine stuff for you. Sorry, it just isn’t going to happen.

Click here to see how the new Keyword Tool will help you explode your affiliate marketing profits!

What you need to do is to target “long tail keywords.” That means the 3-word or longer phrases that people enter that are far less popular, but which still have some traffic. If you were to do a bit of keyword research using your favorite free or paid keyword site/software, you might find (and I’m making these numbers up) that “windows” gets 300,000 searches a month and has high completion, and that “window sales” is similar.

But what about “buy double-paned windows online”?

Maybe that phrase only gets 500 searches a month. Maybe less. But if you really optimize for that keyword and build a few backlinks, you may find that it’s not too hard to rank for it.

Or what about “how do i buy windows on the internet”? Or “cheap double-paned windows”? These may also have low search numbers (maybe 100 or 200, even), but people ARE looking for them. The big window companies are busy optimizing for “windows.” You can sneak in underneath them and get a lot of the traffic for these long-tail keywords.

And if you optimize for a lot of them over time – maybe you do a lot of individual, interlinked posts on a blog, with each page targeting one long-tail – that can really add up to big traffic!
