Intel Server Chip Replaces The Economy, Worries The Pressure Is Still A Huge Breakthrough
Intel server chip replaces the economy, worries the pressure is still a huge breakthrough
With the Xeon 7500 series, the official release to the end of Dell Inspiron 500m battery 2010, Intel successfully completed, including single Clarkdale, dual Westmere-EP, multiple Nehalem-EX, as well as high-end multi-Tukwila Itanium included, from low to high-end server, a full line of new layout. Big success last year, the Nehalem micro-architecture to Intel’s confident, however, multiple applications for 7500 can realize its wish Xeon writing a brilliant year 5500, for now the time has yet to be verified.
Nehalem architecture big success
March 31, Intel launched Xeon 7500 (Nehalem-EX) family of server processors. Construction of the new server platform to a maximum of 256 two-way road from the server system, and using the previous generation Xeon 7400 series compared to the average performance improvements of up to 3 times.
According to Intel, Nehalem-EX The largest surprise is not just up to 3 times the performance, but reliability and scalability enhancements, these enhancements make Nehalem-EX will spawn a new 8-way and 8-way x86 server market over, and in the database, ERP and other key business areas and the impact of large-scale virtualization, integration, traditional RISC camp.
Intel’s Nehalem’s self-confidence is not without reason: Intel’s latest filing shows a Q4 2009 release, the quarter net profit of 23 billion U.S. dollars, up almost 9 times last year. And from fiscal 2009, although it has experienced economic turbulence, the overall sales decline compared to 2008, but the server processor business was thriving, with sales growth of 3.4%, operating profit increased 7.7%, of which, Nehalem micro-architecture to Dell Inspiron 9300 Battery growth in 5500 became the mainstay of support for this – as of last year, the Xeon 5500 is about 90% share of new products on the server market downturn played a positive role.
Is well known, published last year by the end of March of the Xeon 5500 is a dual system for the Nehalem platform, due to technical series of “revolutionary” innovation, so get this product has a number of intelligent features, such as in energy efficiency improve significantly, so that enterprises can quickly recover the investment, so that the data center more flexible and achieve business integration, lower total cost of ownership, have all contributed to rapidly seize the dual Xeon 5500 server market, and rapid completion of the to Xeon 5400 platform replacement.
Just released Xeon 5600 (Westmere-EP) will be the new Xeon 5500 successor, a series of new technologies will make Intel’s dominance in this market more stable, however, Intel’s larger plot – -4 Road and over the high-end market, Xeon 7500 can make their wish fulfilled, the current market view, there are still many uncertainties.
Market acceptance has yet to be tested
As mentioned earlier, unlike the Xeon 5600, Xeon 7500 is for multiple high-end systems, Intel’s goal is not only users from a previous generation of Xeon 7400 to the Xeon 7500 platform, the switch upgrade, a deeper In fact, the idea is to attract more users to migrate to x86 platform RISC directly with IBM, Sun and other vendors, such as competition for traditional minicomputer critical computing market. Therefore, Nehalem-EX is located in the server consolidation, virtualization, data processing is a huge demand for enterprise applications and high-performance technical computing environment, while attracting users to use RISC minicomputer moved to Xeon platforms.
Although Intel’s view, the Xeon 7500 has a x86 system, the highest level of RAS features, and with the minicomputer, mainframe, the gap has been small, but to convince the user and the completion of this work is not easy. One is the traditional minicomputer users, from Unix to x86 open platform, performance is often not their top priority, more of a minicomputer x86 servers can achieve the kind of stability and security; and the industry boss IBM carrying a new generation of its POWER7 workload optimization and integration platform, pre-emptive, and super performance, high scalability and superior return on investment and so on outstanding performance.
In addition, the technology Xeon 7500 Xeon 5500 was higher IBM ThinkPad T60 battery the threshold. For OEM manufacturers, the Xeon 5500 two-way mass can be done, but many roads Xeon 7500 must be attached for more applications and solutions. Because of its capabilities and market strategies of the different face Xeon 7500 given more choices, OEM manufacturers will face more difficult to promote. Further enlarge the sales channels, if the solution does not possess the necessary capacity, channel operators have to first learn how to sell, and sell it to this product.
Therefore, the success of Intel’s ability to break through, the pressure is still great.
HP Slate with Windows 7 operating system, the entry price of 549 U.S. dollars. This Tablet PC with 8.9 inches capacitive multi-touch screen with a resolution of 1024×600. Slate HP Intel Atom Z530 processor, clocked at 1.6GHz, in addition to integrated 32GB flash memory and 1GB memory. HP will also provide a storage capacity of 64GB of products, priced at 599.
The two versions of the HP Slate battery life is 5 hours, integrated SDHC slot, dual cameras, USB port, SIM card slot, and for power, audio and video output support HDMI connector.
HP does not believe that Apple’s iPhone OS operating system is a big selling point, but in fact may not be the case. Insiders pointed out that HP’s internal use of the Internet in this Slate level of hardware, using Windows 7 operating system, Hewlett-Packard to integrate these two noteworthy. Taking into account the iPad has enabled users have high expectations for Tablet PC, HP will face great challenges.
P4000 has three advantages: first, more storage virtualization engine, completely linear expansion. Utilization rate of the second space availability. The third is the new automation products, one sentence is a full-featured high availability multi-engine.
Fan always has been cited earlier is one example of the traditional relationship between the train and subway, the train has two locomotives, pulling a lot of cars behind, when the engine power was fixed after a good performance of the train on the fixed die, the decision completely on the engine. If you add only two cars behind the locomotive What is the result? This is a great waste of power, but the additional 20 cars on the Pao Deman had. But the subway is not the same, every subway train has a power system, in theory, no matter how many cars are the same, our P4000 and the subway is the same.
P4000 Unlike traditional arrays, including the cage, the Sony VGP-BPS5 battery, it is 2U of equipment, each system is a device, each node with the same subway car with all the things, which include the CPU, including the memory array card, it is are linear expansion. Add the two applications from the original three applications, storage resources not how to do? I would expand a P4000, the first three nodes running the original data will automatically balance to the fourth node, where all operations are automatic and require no background interference, which is automatically extended multi-linear engine equipment. When the current need to buy two two, when the future demand for increased storage on the plus three, four, existing networks need to make any changes to the Department, and the capacity expansion is not limited to, can expand up, It is no restriction on the expansion, which is multi-engine concept, each node expansion will increase the performance will not be subject to restrictions on capacity expansion, which is mentioned above the horizontal expansion typical example.
The second major feature is fully functional, if equipped with a conventional optical switch to a conventional fiber array, in addition to the array may be equipped with optical switches in addition, also need SAN management software, database software, Snapshot software. We all bought housing, in general the first set to buy a blank room, if 500,000 to buy a blank room, but you have to live in. There are many processes, first of all to buy furniture decoration to live in, you may buy the rough housing 50 million, to actually live in. may have more than one million. P4000 all software are inside, you just buy this one node, all common storage software is no longer spend money to buy a good custom, for example, like snapshots, data replication, thin provisioning, including network RAID are configuration inside do not need to spend money to buy another, no hidden consumption inside.
P4000 array card, CPU, memory are built inside, as long as the Ethernet switch connected to the OK, and does not require any additional lines, as long as a network cable to the Ethernet switch in on it, hardware is one step, you take it directly is fitting room, no additional overhead.
In addition we also sell a software alone is VSA, when the budget is not enough when you can use the resources of the original old, old PC server, the old blade to do the integration of storage. VSA from software to hardware to the software, we provide all hardware-based software application, so it is a full-featured software and hardware in place. Here we demonstrate for a DEMO, see our snapshot function.
This demonstrates the main points is to tell you the content, the first all functions are free, and the software is very simple. The second snapshot in any reserved space in the storage array in the other also will have no reserved space applications in any environment can be applied, for example I did a snapshot, replication is used to streamline the configuration of this concept, in any case do not need to reserve space, in the same grade in only P4000 can do, but it is a powerful built-in equipment. Snapshot own recovery is very fast, very simple to HP pavilion ze4400 Battery interface.

How Can You Ensure That Your Mailing Lists are Still Reaching Your Target Audience?
How Can You Ensure That Your Mailing Lists are Still Reaching Your Target Audience?
There are two main ways of ensuring your direct marketing is still reaching the right audience as effectively as possible.
1) List Cleansing
The need to clean your mailing list is ever present. UK consumers and businesses are in a constant state of flux, and have more and more opportunities to decline receiving direct marketing messages through various suppression files.
For example over 60% of UK households and more than 55% of businesses have registered telephone numbers with the Telephone Preference Service, in order to block unwanted sales calls. Around 3 out 5 unchecked sales or marketing phone calls to consumers or businesses will now be to a TPS or CTPS registered number.
In addition, the consumer environment in particular is constantly on the move, as people move house and leave home. In the UK 3,200,000 people move house every year – up to 7,000 every day. Approximately 11% of addresses are mailed incorrectly each year. Plus the latest official figures show that there were 572,192 deaths registered in 2006 across the United Kingdom – it is both unethical and costly to continue mailing the deceased with your marketing messages.
Consumer or business or consumer addresses should be checked against the Mailing Preference Service (MPS) Quarterly in order to meet obligations, alongside a check against the relevant Telephone Preference Service (TPS) for consumers or Corporate Telephone Preference Service (CTPS) for businesses.
2) Test Marketing
Once your list has been cleansed it is a good idea to trial your mailing list. Sending your mailings to a test group of 100, with a follow up telephone call a shortly afterwards will ensure that you are sending your information to the relevant people.
This may seem time consuming in the short term, but longer term it can save your business money and avoid wasting time and energy. By the time you’ve factored in the cost of postage, list rental, and printing, direct mail can be a costly business – if you get it wrong.
It is also worth using this opportunity to test your direct mail campaign. Businesses can think about testing promotional offers and the power of your letter. The best way to avoid an expensive mistake is to test the main aspects of your direct mail campaign well before your mailing letter even hits the postal system.
Summary
Don’t forget that if you are using direct marketing to reach either existing or potential customers, the quality and accuracy of your data needs to be spot on to avoid wastage and get the best possible results, so make sure you invest in data cleansing and quality lists from only the most reputable of sources. Never be tempted to cut corners by using out of date lists or buying in low cost poorly targeted databases.

Conficker still on the loose
This 8 months old Conficker or Downadup worm is still infecting around 50.000 computers on a daily basis and is proven to have infected several of the top 1000 companies in the U.S..
In September 2008 several security companies including Microsoft warned about a new threat arrives our computers, the Conficker was on its way to you. The message was to all, update your software including the operative system to stay clear of the threat.
In May 2009, eight months later and several worm generations later and a massive amount of media attention the Conficker or Downadup virus is still active and makes its entry to computers worldwide.
According to internet security company Symantec there are still around 50.000 computers infected by this virus and India, U.S.A and Brazil are worst hit by it.
Lots of the hype in the media seems to have died around Conficker, but it is making progress and spreads with a surprising speed.
Millions of computers are already infected by this malicious worm that can open security holes in back doors on your computer. This makes it possible for cyber criminals to utilize resources on your computer without you knowing it at all. The virus seems to spread to become the largest botnet in the world.
Companies are spending millions of dollars to avoid infections and misuse of their computer systems. However, it is difficult and really expensive to stop its parade into their computers anyway.
Companies makes an effort in stopping the viruses and to get control of its progress by setting up sinc hole servers to illustrate infection progress and the amount of infections. Based on this they can illustrate that many of the largest companies including Microsoft are still infected by viruses of various kinds.
The estimate is that 6 out of 10 web sites are vulnerable to viruses and could be sources of viruses.
The giant botnet of conficker is huge but has not yet made any dramatic on the net, or at least as we know about at this moment. But the botnet grows by the day and becomes fatter and fatter and therefore more powerful to launch an attack on the net.
It is a sizable botnet with enormous resources globally, and with the right control system, this botnet can perform significant activities on the internet and create potential situations that can be very harmful both to private companies and individuals, but also public authorities. -
Therefore it is of main concern how effective internet security companies can create a serum against these viruses, but also how authorities around the world can protect themselves as well as you and me against any malicious attack now and in the future.
You can check if your computers are infected by taking the picture test. Since the worm blocks over 100 antivirus and security net places, it will also block certain pictures from any security vendor.
If you seem to be infected after taken this test, you can remove the worm with Microsoft own Malicious Software Removal Tool.
If this should fail, you can also remove the worm manually – even if this is not user friendly at all, and should be left to someone with some knowledge about the operating system.
Security vendors also provide software to remove this virus, so you could check some of their web sites to get help there.
If you can not access their web pages, then you have to turn of the blocking function of the worm itself manually. You can do this by the following procedure;
1. Klick on start and choose run
2. Write «cmd» in the dialogue box and press ok
3. Write the command «cd..» till you are left with only «C:\>» in your screen
4. Write the command «net stop dnscache» and click enter
5. You will now be able to use the web sites and links provided above.
If you are not infected and would like to stay like that, then you have to do the following to avoid infection.
1. Update with latest security patches from Microsoft. To stay updated is smart to avoid infections of a variety of worms and viruses, since they try to utilize security holes in the software.
2. Install antivirus and other security software and keep them updated. Try to avoid use of free versions of these tools, as some malicious activities are registered amongst some players of free antivirus software providers.
3. Make sure to have strong user identities and passwords on all systems and software you use on your computer and web sites.
4. Have a control on use of memory sticks and external hard drives on your computer. Turn off the autorun function on your computer.
5. Make sure you keep updated versions of other commonly used software like Adobe reader and flashplayer together with the realplayer f.inst. There are several other programs that are vulnerable, so please check upgrades of all installed software on your computer.

Does Keyword Density Still Matter For SEO
Does Keyword Density Still Matter For SEO
If you read back through older information on search engine optimization (SEO), such as information from 4-5 years ago, you will likely notice that keyword density played a crucial role in how a page ranked in the search engines. In case you are unfamiliar with the term, “keyword density” refers to the ratio of your target keywords to the rest of the words on a webpage. For example, a keyword density of 5% meant that 5% of all the words on a given page were your target keywords for that page.
Webmasters and SEO’s (myself included) would spend a great deal of time analyzing pages trying to determine the perfect keyword density that would send our pages to the top of the search engines. Each engine had their “sweet spot” when it came to keyword density. If you could find that sweet spot, you were golden.
Unfortunately, those days are gone. So much of a pages ranking today is determined by FAR more than keyword density. Factors such as link popularity, link reputation, LSI (latent semantic indexing), supporting phrases, etc. all player a role in one way or another and to one extent or another in the ranking of a page. There are so many other elements in play that it is not uncommon for pages to rank quite high for a term that is not even on the page given the right mix of other factors.
So, does this mean keyword density is dead? Well, to some extent yes. Keyword density still plays a part in how a page ranks, it is simply that it is nowhere near as important a part as it was 4-5 years ago. In other words, if all other things are equal, the page that has the keyword on it, will outrank a page that doesn’t, but just because a page has a high keyword density does not mean it is going to rank well in the engines.
When designing pages with seo in mind today, I generally shoot for a keyword density anywhere from 3-15%. The density will generally depend on the amount of text on a page. I don’t’ sweat it. I want the page to read naturally. I also make an effort to include other “supporting” phrases in the page such as synonyms and other words or phrases you would expect to find on a page with the keyword I am targeting. This is becoming more and more important, but I’ll cover that more in another article.
See you at the top!

Good Web Design Could Still be Available to Beginners Like You
Good Web Design Could Still be Available to Beginners Like You
Web sites have been in existence for more than a decade and the idea of web design has changed considerably during the years. In the nineties, you could find web pages with web design as simple as text for its entire body with a graphic or two strewn here and there. Such web design was perfectly acceptable then and frequently relied only on tools as simple as notepad to create. Nowadays, most web sites require considerably more advanced web design, often calling for entire teams of web content creators to make them. If you’re new to the field of creating web sites, how do you learn to make web sites that you would truly like to visit?
First of all, you need to visit many web sites and be critical of them. Ask yourself what elements of their web design impressed you? What elements of their web design did not seem too functional or were just plain ugly? By knowing what it is that you want, you could be taking the first steps to becoming a really good web master.
Next, you just need to learn the basics. Much of web design coding during the nineties for these web sites still function as the basics for these new more colorful web sites. Yes, web design still relies on good old HTML. Visit any tutorial online and after an afternoon, you’re sure to be acquainted enough with HTML to make your own site, albeit a very simple one.
Now, with this knowledge of the basics of HTML, you can revisit your favorite web sites and see how it is that they were created. Use the browser’s ability to see the coding for these sites and you’ll find out what web design tricks they employed. Did the site use fancy moving graphics that responded to your mouse’s clicks? Then it might just have used flash in its web design. Did it have music embedded into it as mp3? Then find out just how the web master did this using your browser’s view layout feature. Any of the best web sites’ web design tools are always just there, ready for you to see how they were put to use.
After this, the next step would be to emulate the sites’ features. It’s not too difficult as you can just copy anything using copy and paste. Place these codes into the site you’re trying to create. Don’t be greedy and copy every feature from every site all at once. You need to start small with one feature at a time. That way, if a feature does not work, you’ll know just where the problem is.
It’s not all about using the web design features, though. You should only use web features that are useful for your sites’ purposes. Are you building a site only for yourself? Then try to have web design that expresses your self. Are you building a site for your families’ company? Then maybe you could keep it simple and straight to the point, just giving the company’s details. After uploading your web site, give yourself a couple of days rest and look back at it. That way, you’ll have a fresh take on your own web design; good luck.
Yahoo: Actually, Search Is Still Popular (We’re Just Confused)
Yahoo seems to be a little confused about its prospects these days. Now that their search deal with Microsoft is approved, they’re suddenly not that interested in search, because people aren’t interested in search. (Odd how that one’s not generating the same interest as a couple years ago when Ask.com did/didn’t say they were getting out of search.) And yet at the same time, they’re releasing research that shows just how important search really is.
SEO by the Sea reports on a study, to be presented today, that shows search is responsible for more than 1 in 5 pageviews online. Search itself saw 10% of online pageviews, and indirectly lead to 21% of the pageviews and about the same proportion of purchases online.
They tell us that main web search accounted for 6.2 percent of all pageviews, multimedia searches take up 1.4 percent, and item searches another 1.4 percent. They followed browsing trails from these searches to the pages that searchers followed from the searches, and tell us that those pages browsed as a result of searches result in another 12.4 percent of pages visited on the Web. . . .
The study also looked at “checkout” pageviews to see how often people arrived at ecommerce checkout pages, and tell us that approximately 20 percent of people making a purchase online eventually arrived at that page directly or indirectly from a search pageview.
Based on >50M pageviews collected over 8 days in March 2009, the study reaffirms the importance of search. Over the last year, social networks have continued to grow—but the two categories play very different roles. Meanwhile, if Yahoo really thought that search was on the way out, wouldn’t they have their employees sit on this research?
Naturally, Yahoo is right that people are using social networks and recommendations from friends to find new websites and places to hang out—and possibly even answers to questions. But if they really think people aren’t searching, 1.) they need better internal communication, 2.) the search deal is a waste of time and money and 3.) they don’t understand how people find information in the first place—a cardinal sin in the IR industry.
Even in the reports this morning, Yahoo acknowledged that people spend about a sixth of their online time searching. While they also cited stats that said they spent another third of their time communicating and half their time browsing, I think that showing that people spend a significant amount of time—but not a majority of it—searching shows how successful search engines are. Would anyone want an Internet where we spent half our time searching for something, and a minority of our time actually reading what we’d found?
With these stats, it sounds like Yahoo’s trying to have its cake and eat it to: search is important, but it isn’t. It drives pageviews, but social is the wave of the future. Buy search ads, but buy display ads. What do you think? Is Yahoo trying to attack this from both sides?
This looks like a case of

Multichannel Retailers Still Ignoring Mobile
I know, we’re all ready and geared up for the year that will finally be the year of the mobile. (This time, it’s for real! Maybe.) But apparently more and more consumers on the mobile Internet isn’t quite persuasive enough for retailers already pursuing multiple channels, according to research from Multichannel Merchant. eMarketer reports that in February 2010, while they were happy to explore options in SEO, social media, and conversion, four out of five multichannel retailers weren’t using any form of mobile commerce or advertising.

Mobile advertising is the most popular choice among the few that do use “m-commerce,” with an m-commerce site and an iPhone app as the next most popular. (Overlap indicates that at least 7% of retailers surveyed were doing two or more of the above activities.)
However, that may not be quite as devastating as it sounds, considering another survey by ATG. According to this survey, 87% of US Internet users never purchase products on a mobile device, and 79% never use a mobile device for product research. However, 19% of US Internet users do use a mobile device for product research at least monthly (though only 6% use it for purchases that frequently).
Still, now is a good time to begin at least thinking about mobile commerce applications for sites. Because seriously, this year is really, finally the one. This time.
Maybe.
What do you think? Are marketers who haven’t gone into m-commerce behind the curve? Or are they wise to wait?

Yahoo Hacked in China (Still Waiting for Other Shoe)
In January, Google reported a coordinated hack attack targeting Chinese human rights activists’ Gmail accounts. In response, Google (eventually) pulled their search engine from China.
And now the hackers are at it again. The Yahoo “e-mail accounts of more than a dozen rights activists, academics and journalists who cover China have been compromised by unknown intruders” last month, according to the New York Times. NYT reporter Andrew Jacobs, one of the targeted journalists, said the “hackers altered e-mail settings so that all correspondence was surreptitiously forwarded to another e-mail address.”
Several of the affected users received messages from Yahoo after problems accessing their accounts, according to the AP.
Yahoo hasn’t yet decided to respond, as Agence France Presse reports. Yesterday, the side stepped the news agency’s questions on the matter, only stating
Yahoo! condemns all cyberattacks regardless of origin or purpose. We are committed to protecting user security and privacy and we take appropriate action in the event of any kind of breach.
However, Yahoo doesn’t really have a whole of options. They left their Chinese business in 2005, selling their interests to Chinese e-commerce company Alibaba (which later had an IPO larger than Google’s). They still own 39% of Alibaba, but don’t have operational control of the company. They may be able to shut down their email offerings, which are routed through Chinese servers.
There’s no indication that these are the same hackers (or not), although the targets are substantially similar.
