MacBook Pro 13-Inch Reviews!

Article By: MacBookProShop.com

13 “MacBook Pro

I am extremely happy with my new MacBook – glad I waited for the 2010 model. For those concerned about the speed of the processor, the Core 2 Duo works very well – no need for i5/i7. Battery life is great and the bottom of the computer remains cool to the touch – much cooler than my old HP laptop. Display looks great as well. The touchpad works very well – very similar to the touchscreen iPhone. Wish I would not have waited so long to switch to a Mac.

Edit: Just thought I share this boot full, not only to wake up, takes less than fifteen seconds and the complete closure takes less than five – much faster than any Windows PC I’ve had.

In maritime transport, I put my order originally on Tuesday (04/13/2010) and received an e-mail 4 / 16 with a delivery date of 20/04. Being curious, I decided to check the delivery date for a new order in place, the 4 / 16. The delivery date for an order placed on 4 / 16 was 4 / 17, so I canceled my original order and put a new one at about 3:30. UPS delivers the computer at 9 this morning – great turnaround time. In general, I am very happy with my MacBook and with Amazon.

MacBook Pro – Pleasantly Surprised

This is my first Mac notebook. I bought a Mac mini last year and just love. I ended up hooking the television as a home theater PC and I found myself in need of a computer at times when the Mac mini has been in TV quality. I was upgrading from a Dell 2004 laptop to this and I’m only noticing some things that I would put it, if you’ve never had a Mac laptop.
Built in webcam that acts as a sensor of ambient light when it gets lighter or darker in the room.

Backlit keys.

Touchpad / trackpad gestures can be real time savers than a full keyboard (and I’m a fan of the keyboard)

I have not played with him yet, but I think I can speak with a MacBook too, and will launch applications or do things (my friends do)

The MagSafe is like a magnet connection so if the power football that will not break anything, will just pop out.

In general, I like it. It ‘pretty clear. I wanted something light with good battery life. I knew that I was happy with the graphics card on the mini, so it should not be let down here either because this is an improvement on this. I dare say that I will use the cd drive a lot, but I guess it’s cool if I need to copy a CD into iTunes. When I had this today at work next to my Dell external monitor and I could only notice how dingy brown compared watch their screens.

The colors on this screen are really great. The keyboard has a nice tactile feel to it as well, I never really miss a beat with this thing. The firewire connection has been useful for transferring my settings of the Mac mini as well.

HP Laptop Reviews

This article will I start from the history of HP. Let’s begin. A classmate of Bill Hewlett, along with Dave Packard of Stanford University went ahead to find Hewlett Packard (HP)   in the year 1939. The first product from the company, which is an audio oscillator, produced in Palo Alto garage. That was one of the electronic instruments utilized by the sound engineers.

One of HP’s first customers is the ‘Walt Disney Studios’. They bought 8 oscillators to develop and test the new-fangled sound system to make a fantasy film. At this time, Hewlett Packard or HP Company, the topmost Corporation with respect to the information technology or IT industry. HP is the organization known as the printing industry revolution. In addition, this is a pioneer in the computer world.

HP has; indeed, replace the Dell computers off late in the terms of computer sales and shipments. HP is the common name now, as far as printers and related technologies are concerned. In the last few years, HP laptops and tablet PCs has won the hearts of people. In 2002, Compaq Inc. goes on to merge with Hewlett Packard. Thus forming the largest single entity in the computer industry.

Through this acquisition, HP has surpassed Dell and IBM / Lenovo computers. After some difficulty following the merger and some marketing realignment and restructuration, HP has done a great job in presenting attractive laptop and build their leadership in the market.

Nowadays, HP has divided its home and small office laptop offering in four broad categories in order to reach their different targets. Let’s we summarize the specifics of each of these lines:

Versatile Performance

These are your standards laptops. It is the ones that you are most likely to find at most retailers. They are equipped with RAM goes from 1GB to 4 GB, the hard drives vary in between 120 GB and 320 GB and a 15.4″ screen. They weight around 7 pounds. They also come with the standard wifi and Bluetooth elements. Their price from $ 500 to $ 1100. The laptops included in this line are the followings: HP Pavilion dv5t, HP Pavilion dv5z and HP Pavilion dv6700t.

• Mobility

The main difference comes from the dimensions. The screen drop to 12.1″ to 14.1″. The hardrives go from 120 GB to 320 GB; RAM goes from 1 GB to 4 GB. They weigh around 4,5-5,3 kg. They come with the standard wifi and Bluetooth elements. Their prices vary from $ 650 to $ 1,200. The laptops included in this line are the followings: HP Pavilion dv4z, dv4t HP Pavilion HP Pavilion dv2700t and HP Pavilion tx2500z.

Entertainment Powerhouse

We are now entering the desktop replacement category; screen varies between 17″ or 20.1″. The hardrives go from 120 GB to 640 GB; RAM goes from 2 GB to 4 GB, a choice of quality graphics card. They weigh around 4, 6-15,3 pounds. They also come with the standard wifi and Bluetooth elements and more extensions than normal laptops. Their prices vary from $ 800 to $ 1900. The laptops included in this line are the followings: HP Pavilion dv7z, HP Pavilion dv7t, HP Pavilion dv9700t, and HP Pavilion HDX Entertainment Notebook PC.

• Special Edition

In short, it’s all about the look! Think about the special edition, you do not want a laptop that looks like someone else, and then this is for you. Inside, it was more or less a mix of the versatile and mobility lines. So that HP can adjust to both segments. Screen vary in between 14.1 “or 15.4″. The hardrives go from 120 GB to 320 GB; RAM goes from 2 GB to 4 GB. They weigh around 5,3-6,1 kg. They also come with the standard wifi and Bluetooth elements. Their prices vary from $ 770 to $ 1,000. The laptops included in this line are the followings: H HP Pavilion dv2800t, P Pavilion dv6700t and HP Pavilion dv2700t.

Mentioned above, HP laptops are available along with some customized features. HP laptops fall in the category of high-end models with the latest features and configuration. There are many accessories available for business purposes. Each notebook comes with the Business Edition of Windows Vista and other business related software pack.

HP has established itself as a solid brand. Their success is because of their formidable sales machine on one hand, but also because the quality of their products. HP laptop is always a high customer satisfaction rating. If you are in buying mode, Hp laptop should lead to the top of your list.

Motorola W490 Reviews and Information

Motorola W490 Reviews and Information

Released for T-Mobile, the Motorola W490’s streamlined and compact exterior borrows inspiration from the iconic slim KRZR design. Convenient to fit in a pocket or in the palm, the smooth and eye-catching flip mechanism is attention-grabbing for savvy and fashion-forward consumers looking for fun and function in their device. Measuring only 17 mm thick, the W490 packs in a large 262K-color display, the Motorola W510 allows you to handle your communication needs with effortless style. Taking and sending images is simple using the integrated 1.3-megapixel camera. With a versatile 8x digital zoom, the W490 captures everything from spontaneous moments to posed shots, and allows users to view, print or share at the touch of a button.

Though Motorola threw much of its weight this year behind its new Razr2s, the company has given us a series of models that emphasize basic features and dependability rather then flashy designs and high-end offerings. Verizon Wireless’ Moto W385, which we reviewed last month, was one such handset, but now we focus on the similar Motorola W490. Built for T-Mobile, the W490 follows the W385 in providing basic calling features in a simple, easy-to-use design

The Motorola W490 is primarily concerned with productivity as evidenced by its many features. These include voice record, alarm clock, calendar, calculator and currency converter. The unit boasts an integrated speakerphone and advance speech recognition.

Phone Features

Measuring 0.69 inches thin, the Motorola W490 sports a 1.9-inch LCD screen with support for 262K colors and a 176 x 220-pixel resolution. It has a 5 MB internal memory, which can be expanded up to 2 GB using optional MicroSD memory cards. This phone can store up to 1000 contact entries (plus up to 250 stored on the SIM card), and each entry can store up to five numbers as well as picture ID.

Design

Like the W385, the W490 sports a design that’s based loosely on the Motorola Krzr K1. Though it’s not nearly as streamlined as its Krzr cousin–the W490 is boxier with sharper angles–it has the same slender shape with similar dimensions (3.89 inches by 1.89 inches by 0.68 inch). At 3.7 ounces, it’s a bit on the heavy side for a flip phone, but you’re rewarded with a handset that has a sturdy construction and a solid feel in the hand. Our W490 review model came in basic black, but T-Mobile also sells versions in purple and green.

September 24 is a red letter day for the Motorola W490, which looks like the sleek and chic KRZR. Well, yeah, sans the jampacked features, as it lacks a camera, Bluetooth and other goodies the KRZR has to offer. The W490 is comparable to the W385 or the . I’ll stop talking about what this phone doesn’t have and focus on what it has and can do, such as music playback capability, MMS, T-Mobile’s myFaves service, among others. I hope this has a radio atleast. But hey, it’s slim and easy on the pocket!

Keyword Research Software Reviews

Keyword Research Software Reviews

Extensive keyword search and analysis is essential for website publishers. The performance of a particular website will depend upon the keywords it used as its content. For instance, if your website focused on œswimmingâ its contents must have keywords and phrases that portrays on “swimmingIn this way, the siteâ popularity search in a search engine will be higher, thus placing them on higher ranks during a particular search.

Another thing aside from higher rankings in a search engine is the profitability of the website. Although there are really high profits that can be derived from using Adwords or Adsense, if your site uses keywords that are not popularly searched by Internet users, there will be no visitors that will click on those paid advertisement.

How will you determine if a particular keyword or phrase is popular to Internet users? Fortunately, there are keywords analysis tools and software that you can use to determine it. In addition, it will not only identify what keywords are popularly searched but also it will determine how many times that particular keyword or phrase has been searched. It will be a great help in optimizing the contents of your webpage.

There are number of keyword research software that are available for keyword research and at the same time for its competitive analysis. Keep in mind that this software may be free of charge or will require you some monthly subscription.

All you have to do is to take the results you have obtained from the Sandbox database, copy, and paste it to other research tool to provide you extra results as well as search counts.

Google Suggest

This research software is useful to analyze the competitiveness of the keywords that you have searched by popularity. If your keyword is low-competitive, you can use it as your webpage content in order for your site to gain higher rankings in a search engine.

Overture Keyword Tool

It is the longest-running keyword research software that has been the favorite of many Internet marketers before the introduction of the Wordtracker. It jumbles up the keywords along with the phrases that you have used and eliminates what it thinks are irrelevant words. It is quite effective if will be used with keyword analyzing software.

These are just some of the keyword search software that you can use in determining the keywords you need to optimize your webpage content and at the same time improving your site rankings in major search engines.

How to Write Book Reviews for Your Target Audience

How to Write Book Reviews for Your Target Audience

If you are burned out with writing how-to articles to promote your business then consider writing a book review. I recommend you write a review about a book you enjoyed that is related to your products or services. Your review, of course, will be capped off with your 5-6 line by line that includes your contact information and web site URL. Many of the article directories, e-zines and web sites that normally accept articles will accept book reviews too. In addition, you can find and submit to the many sites featuring book reviews.

To begin a review, I start with the format required by Midwest Book Review. I then adapt the format and word count to what is required by each submission site. Midwest Book Review recommends the following format (examples of paragraphs are enclosed in parenthesis):

Book Title:

Author:

Publisher:

Publisher Address:

ISBN:

Price: Publication Date: Page Count:

Reviewer Contact Information:

Name: Address: E-mail:

First Paragraph: Include information about the format of the book. A nice touch is to comment on the cover design, table of contents structure and/or glossary at the back of the book.

(Sample: This beautifully laid out trade paperback has a gorgeous and practical design both inside and out. I recommend you read this book with a highlighter and a pen, ready to take copious notes in the blank pages thoughtfully provided between chapters.)

Second Paragraph: Detail the recommended audience and note why they should read the book.

(Sample: Manners That Sell: Adding The Polish That Builds Profits should be required reading for high school and college students and for anyone already in the business environment. Once upon a time, good manners were taught in school and at home, but that time has long since passed. This book provides the perfect refresher course for those of us who learned manners but no longer remember the finer points of etiquette.)

Third Paragraph: Write about the book structure and layout, number of chapters and topics covered.

(Sample: While reading this book, I discovered that the author, Lydia Ramsey, covered every conceivable point of etiquette including many that I had never been taught. Each of the twelve chapters covers one main topic broken down into digestible bite sized chunks of rules and guidelines to enhance credibility and professionalism. Topics include first impressions, greetings and introductions, the art of conversation, dressing for business, telephone courtesy, electronic etiquette, correspondence in business, etiquette in the office, gift-giving in business, etiquette out of the office, dining for profit and doing business internationally.)

Fourth Paragraph: Give a brief biography of the author including their name, name of their business (if applicable), business or personal expertise and if available, include titles of their other books.

(Sample: The author of this delightful book, Lydia Ramsey, is a business etiquette expert with over thirty years of experience working with non-profits, corporations, colleges and universities. She is a frequently published author who presents workshops, seminars and keynotes on all aspects of business etiquette.)

Fifth Paragraph: Recommend the book and offer some ideas of its practical use by individuals or groups. If applicable, mention that it would make a good gift book and wrap up the review with a positive summary of the book.

(Sample: I recommend businesses buy this book in bulk and present one to every employee from the frontline up to the top management. In this ever-changing world of so many consumer choices, the bottom line is often affected by the simple courtesies that can and should be afforded to customers. You need this book if you want your employees to succeed and your business to thrive.)

Add your copyright statement and byline to the bottom of the review and, as usual, have the review proofread by an editor before you begin submission. Your book reviews can be very effective marketing tools that will generate considerable exposure for you

Kindle 2 Reviews – Why Read Another

Kindle 2 Reviews – Why Read Another

I’m not one inclined to writing reviews but I do examine them carefully before I make a significant purchase, here on Amazon.com and on other seller web sites. So on the chance that I might say something that helps a potential buyer make up their mind, particularly someone who has not owned the first Kindle, this is my small effort to give back to the process.

First of all, I loved Kindle 1 although I noted several shortcomings due primarily to the design of the hardware. I’m glad to learn that every shortcoming(except one) has been fixed beyond my expectations. When I received my Kindle 2 yesterday, I eagerly removed it from the shipping container, plugged it in and began to download my library. As I did I marveled at the new Kindle’s fresh, sleek design. It is a beauty!

The main issue I had with Kindle 1 was the navigation button design and placement. My original thought was that I wanted to use my Kindle 1 without a cover but I quickly learned that doing so wasn’t practical. I like to read holding the Kindle with one hand and it just didn’t work well because I kept bumping the next, previous and back buttons. So I began to use the cover it came with so I could hold the Kindle by the cover, only to learn that this cover did not keep the device securely in place very well. So I bought an m-edge cover, which is bulkier and the front does not fold back easily. I was stuck reading using two hands and I didn’t like that at all.

Kindle 2 solves all these problems. I’m not going to bother with a cover at all now. I love the way it feels in my hand without a cover. It is easy to navigate without any risk of accidentally changing the page I’m on. I will probably buy a Belkin sleeve to protect it when I take it out but that’s all. Now my reading experience is complete!

The Kindle 2’s redesigned features are fantastic. The display is better and the 5-way button is a major improvement. I do a lot of highlighting and this design fix is huge. Looking up words is much easier and many times faster. One improved feature I haven’t notice any comment on is the progress bar at the bottom of each book page. Now it shows the total number of locations and the percent already read. This is so much better than the old way of determining how far I’m into a book. Thank you, design team!

The fact that Kindle 2 has no SD card capability and the battery is not user-serviceable is not an issue with me. Even with a few hundred books in my library, it will be a long time before the 2 gig memory starts to be a limiting factor and when it does (if it does) I’ll just archive what I’ve already read. Amazon’s design team has made it simple to pull archived books back to the Kindle 2 without having to go to a computer.

The only item on my wish list that was not addressed in Kindle 2 is the lack of an improved file storage system. It would have been nice to have that but it doesn’t take away from my enjoyment.

Page turns are significantly faster and the page reloads are less intrusive to the reading experience. On/off buttons are repositioned to be easily accessible. The home page is easier to navigate. There are other improvements that many others have already noted so I’m going to stop here without repeating everything that’s been said already. But the biggest thing about Kindle (both 1 and 2) is the Amazon store and how simple it is to browse and buy books from. I’m so impressed with the way they have seamlessly brought the store together with the reading device via Whispernet to make the digital reading experience such a wonderful thing to enjoy.

Kindle Vs. Sony Ebook Reader Reviews

Kindle Vs. Sony Ebook Reader Reviews

There has been a lot of buzz lately about the brand new e-book reader launched by Amazon. The most popular e-book reader around has been the one launched by Sony.

The price difference

One of the main differences that really stands out between the Sony E-book Reader and Kindle is the vast price disparity. There’s a whopping 100 dollar difference with the Sony reader being priced at 300 USD and Kindle having a price of 400 USD. While the Sony reader promises a host of freebie features like free viewing of PDF files, no internet connection needed, free access to blogs as well as RSS feeds and even a memory card included in the welcome kit, this reader from Sony sure has plenty of upsides to it. However, Kindle isn’t far behind what with the capacity to contain more than 200 titles and an SD card slot that is included with it. However, you do need to pay 1 dollar for every blog and RSS feed respectively which is quite a bit expensive.

The format

While the Sony Reader allows you to view PDF files free of cost, the Kindle charges a 10 cent fee for every PDF file that you would sync into the device. Also Kindle tends to read HTML, plain text formats and images from the SD card but doesn’t do too well with DOC, RTF and PDF formats. But then again even the Sony Reader cannot read DOC formats directly.

E-ink technology

As far as the 6 inch LCD screen display goes in the Kindle, the display uses the revolutionary e-ink technology using ‘Vizplex’ film on the surface. However, both the Sony Reader and the Kindle have used the same technology. The plus side to this technology is that 40% of received light gets deflected and uses reflected instead of transmitted light which makes both devices easy on the eyes.

Printability

There is no need to print any document because Kindle offers portability in taking along all personal documents at anytime in any place, thereby eliminating the need for printing. The 10 cent fee is applicable for wireless transfer of word documents. However, if users do not wish to shell out this fee, free transfers can be leveraged. For this, the file or attachment needs to be sent to ‘name’@free.kindle.com where name stands for the ID used for your Kindle email address. So if the Kindle email ID is smith@kindle.com then attachments need to be sent to smith@free.kindle.com and then the file gets converted and emailed to the associated Amazon account.

Battery life

The Amazon Kindle is by far a better choice when it comes to battery life. You can go for four days at a stretch without any need to charge the Kindle. Besides, this is its good network coverage in almost any area which makes for good portability. Turning pages is as easy at the click of a button which means that even if you are reading the e-book in bed, operating the Kindle is much easier than the Sony Reader.

Ipad Sanctioned Reviews Hit The Internet

Ipad Sanctioned Reviews Hit The Internet

Major publications, including the NYTimes, USA Today, The Chicago Sun-Times, PcMag and The Wall Street Journal were equipped with iPad units to review to begin the first sanctioned review publications of the upcoming iPad tablet device.

Pogue takes two approaches in his review: The view of the ‘Techies’ and the side of the ‘Everyone else’: To use the iPad, “You operate the iPad by tapping and dragging on the glass with your fingers, just as on the iPhone. “ but David then proceeds to state that once the screen is off all the fingerprints and marks whilst using the device are “grossly visible.” As for the iPads processor and hardware speed, its a winner – “At least Apple had the decency to give the iPad a really fast processor. Things open fast, scroll fast, load fast. Surfing the Web is a heck of a lot better than on the tiny iPhone screen first, because its so fast, and second, because you dont have to do nearly as much zooming and panning.”

His general consensus – That a laptop will achieve more for less money. But in his section for ‘Everyone Else’

“And the techies are right about another thing the iPad is not a laptop. Its not nearly as good for creating stuff. On the other hand, its infinitely more convenient for consuming it books, music, video, photos, Web, email and so on. For most people, manipulating these digital materials directly by touching them is a completely new experience and a deeply satisfying one.

The bottom line is that the iPad has been designed and built by a bunch of perfectionists. If you like the concept, youll love the machine.

The only question is: Do you like the concept?” We will see this coming weekend if users like the concept from both the “Everyday” world and the “Techie world.”

Walter has said that the upcoming iPad device has the ability to change portable computing profoundly, but to achieve this it first has to prove and accomplish the task of defining itself as a laptop alternative, but as other tablet devices have failed to achieve and get into the grand scheme of things with their devices, the iPad does also infact lack many features, “such as a physical keyboard, a Webcam, USB ports and multitasking.” the features quoted are nowadays expected from a portable computer system and many users require such features to enable functioning within their businesses, work place and for general personal experience and usage. Walter also goes onto say that users have to adapt to the change, he used his iPad heavily day and night in replace of the bulky and heavier laptop and computer systems and he found it a pleasure to use.

“For the past week or so, I have been testing a sleek, light, silver-and-black tablet computer called an iPad. After spending hours and hours with it, I believe this beautiful new touch-screen device from Apple has the potential to change portable computing profoundly, and to challenge the primacy of the laptop. It could even help eventually, to propel the finger driven, multi-touch user interface ahead of the mouse-driven interface that has prevailed for decades.”

Depending on how one uses a computer system these days will determine whether the iPad is right for your needs as a user and consumer. but to fully grasp its uniqueness you will have to try the iPad tablet yourself and make your own judgments and observations.

“The most compelling sign that Apple got this right is the fact that despite the novelty of the iPad the excitement slips away after about ten seconds and you are completely focused on the task at hand. Whether its reading a book, writing a report or working on clearing your Inbox. Second most compelling in situation after situation, I find that the iPad is the best computer in my household and office menagerie. Its not a replacement for my notebook, mind you. It feels more as if the iPad is filling a gap thats existed for quite some time.”

Andy said that the user experience for the new device is exceptional and elegant.

“Aside from Apple enthusiasts, many of us wondered who would drop hundreds of dollars for this not-quite-computer. But having used the iPad for some time, I can tell you that the device just makes sense. When you combine basic-but-essential work tools with iWork, an improved browser, e-mail, iPod, and photo applications, a well-executed e-Book platform with iBooks, and throw in thousands of downloadable apps and games, and package it all in a gorgeous, slim slate with a beautiful 9.7-inch touch screen, you have yourself a winner. Is the iPad cheap No. Is it flawless Not at all. Omissions including support for multi-tasking, a built-in camera for video chats, and Flash support in Safari leave room for improvement, but otherwise, the Apple iPad is a very convincing debut. And it will undoubtedly be a driving force in shaping the emerging tablet landscape.”

Tim, gave the iPad a “4.5 red dots out of 5″

“The first iPad is a winner. It stacks up as a formidable electronic-reader rival for Amazons Kindle. It gives portable game machines from Nintendo and Sony a run for their money. At the very least the iPad will likely drum up mass-market interest in tablet computing in ways that longtime tablet visionary and Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates could only dream of. Apple has pretty much nailed it with this first iPad, though theres certainly room for improvement. Nearly three years after making a splash with the iPhone, Apple has delivered another impressive product that largely lives up to the hype.”

Over the upcoming week thousands of reviews will be places by the everyday consumer and the techies, we will all wait in anticipation for the launch of what looks like to shape up as a very successful tablet device by Apple. Stay tuned.
