Kindle 2 Reviews – Best Price On Kindle 2

After the success of the original wireless reading device from Amazon, the Kindle 2 has been designed to enhance the experience for all users. They went back to the shop and added on a few extra features as suggested by buyers of the first version.

More Storage

This newer version has had the built in storage capacity extended. Now you can upload over 1,500 book titles. You can carry your whole library with you all the time in the palm of your hands. At the same time all those titles are backed up automatically for you on the Amazon servers.

Sharper Display

Unlike computer screens, the screen on this device has been designed to read like real paper. With this new version they have made the images sharper than ever with 16 shades of gray for super crisp pictures. The enhanced paper display makes it easier to read your books, even in bright sunlight.

Longer battery life

The battery power has been improved too, and now lasts longer. You can now read for days without charging your Kindle 2 due to the longer battery life. You do not really need to carry your charger around all the time you can just leave it home and charge your device from there.

They have also added a new text to speech feature as well as Portable Document Format (PDF) support. However the original main features are still available too. You can still buy a book and have it delivered to you in less than 60 seconds, in your house, on the beach or virtually anyway. Let us not forget the easy access to hundreds of thousands of book titles in the Kindle store at a cheaper price than the hard copy versions.

An iPad Leather Case Offers The Best Protection For Your Apple iPad At Half The Price

An iPad Leather Case Offers The Best Protection For Your Apple iPad At Half The Price

iPad cases could come and go, and goodness knows the price ranges for them are unquestionably ridiculous at nearly all retail stores. IN fact, just dealing with the local bestbuy, wal-mart and Fry’s, I found cases that pretty much ranged from right up to about 0 – ridiculous! And while I do agree that you MUST protect your iPad – it just makes sense to do so, I can’t help but think that our tendency to put a case on our gadgets is being taken advantage of.

We can count our lucky stars that there are a good number of stores online that will ship you a case for less than what it costs in your local computer store – even after shipping costs you’re looking at about 50% less.

So, my sincere tip is – get your iPad case online. Regrettably we cannot really get a discount on the iPad alone – so we have got to make the most of the savings we could get for the accessories like the ipad case. It does not matter whether you’re ordering it online, offline or anywhere else for that matter – you WILL be spending at least 0.00 on the iPad. So we have to save where we can when it comes to the add on products for the iPad – and the iPad case is a must have add on and one that we can definitely save some money by looking around. A decent leather case will cost you about .00 at your local computer store, and you can get the same case online for about .00 – now that’s what I call a huge savings!

You can probably tell that I am partial to leather iPad cases at this point. I really consider my laptop to be extremely classy and functional – and a leather case, a good leather case, just adds that extra wow factor to the iPad for me. I just can not picture a shiny yellow or flourescent green silicone case over top of my iPad – it would completely take away from how good it looks. I know, I know, some people use silicone cases because it lets them have a bit of a better grip on their ipads, etc. I am just not a fan of them at all, despite my friends often telling me how great they are.

I absolutely love the executive style iPad leather cases, there’s nothing that adds class to the iPad more than that. But I like them for another reason too.  They totally cover the iPad. Naturally the back of the ipad is covered, but the front of the case flip open to reveal the screen, and fold back to the back of the iPad, adding a bit more stuff to hold on to when I carry my iPad in one hand. At under it’s an easy decision to make and it’s not so bad for my bank account either.

Amazon Kindle Not Ready For Europe

By: Alejandra Hidalgo

I received my order of the Amazon Kindle International version yesterday afternoon and I rushed to install it (after I bought a plug connector, as the Kindle comes with the American plug). I was able to start it up effortless and in no time I was reading books (in English) acquired from the Amazon Kindle store. I think that the device itself works very well and provides for a comfortable reading platform.

The problem is that the content is not there yet for the European market:

One of the reasons I had for buying the Kindle was to have paperless access during my morning train commuting of my favorite newspaper, the Financial Times. Well, it is past eight in the morning and I am still waiting for the trial edition of the FT to be downloaded in my Amazon Kindle. I know it is the American Edition of the FT, but what is the use of a digital newspaper service that will not be accessible in the early hours of the morning?

Other reason for buying the Amazon Kindle was to have a subscription of the Economist, which to my disappointment is not available for Europeans. Same thing with books in the Spanish language, my mother tongue. Though the Amazon Kindle store has the latest authors of the Spanish language in its original language, these are not available for Europeans. I understand that there are copy rights issues here but it is rather bitter to see that the Sony Ebook store started recently to sell these books to Europeans (though at prices that near EUR 30). I recommend that German speakers and other Europeans do sufficient research on what is actually available in their language before deciding which ebook to buy.

Overall, I like this ebook but I am disappointed with the current content. I guess my Amazon Kindle book will stay by my night table and will not be travelling with me in the daily commute or business trips.

Amazon Kindle DX Review: Weighing In On Its $489 Price Tag

Amazon Kindle DX Review: Weighing In On Its 9 Price Tag

Anyone who owns or is considering buying a Kindle 2 has no doubt heard of the recent launch of the Kindle DX. If you are the former, this could be a great time to upgrade and if you are the latter, it could be a tough decision you have to make. When you are looking to spend the kind of money the Kindle costs, you don’t want to leap without looking. But if you do your research beforehand, you can be assured you will get the model that works best for you.

The older of the two models, the Kindle 2, offers a few less features and is a bit smaller, but also comes with a smaller price tag. The Kindle 2 is 8″ x 5.3″ x 0.36″ and has a 6″ diagonal screen. It weighs just over half a pound at 10.2 ounces and is great as a highly portable ebook reader. The Kindle 2 comes with 2 GB of memory, which can hold around 1,500 books, more than enough to fit most people’s libraries inside. At around 9 it is significantly cheaper than the new DX as well.

The new Kindle DX comes onto the market with a bigger is better attitude. The unit itself is 10.4″ x 7.2″ x 0.38″, but it boasts a huge 9.7″ screen with an auto-rotating feature. This means you can switch between landscape and portrait just by turning the device, making it great for newspapers or picture-heavy kid’s books. But this size means it weighs more as well. Nearly twice as much at a hefty 18.9 ounces.

The Kindle DX has twice the capacity to hold books, boasting of a 4GB hard drive. It can also natively read PDF files which is a huge convenience as the previous models required file conversion. All these features are available at the price of 9.

Don’t think that just because the Kindle DX is newer and sports bigger numbers that it is the only one you should consider. The Kindle 2 has size to its advantage. While the DX might be great for reading at home, the Kindle 2 is far more portable. It will also save you a big chunk of change. If you are willing to pay for the extra size and features, the DX is a great piece of technology. But the Kindle 2 still has more than enough to offer most people. If you are just looking for a way to replace ratty old books or cut down on how many textbooks you’re hauling around, the Kindle 2 has a lot to offer. Whichever one you decide is right for you, you’re getting a device that will keep you reading whatever you want whenever you want.

Kindle 2 Wireless Best Price!

Kindle 2 Wireless Customer Review…

By William M. Campsey “Bill Campsey”

The good and the bad – there is no ugly

My wife and I have had our Kindle 2 Wireless for a few months now. Now that I’ve had the opportunity to read a variety of books, I can say that the Kindle provides for a variety of experiences.

If the book I am reading is a simple page-turner, then the Kindle 2 Wireless is awesome. It is easy to hold. I never have to look for a paper book mark. The text is easy on my eyes. I love the immediate definition of words. I’m a big fan.

On the other hand, if I want or need to refer to end-notes or maps, my experience so far has been unsatisfactory. If one is able to print one or two pages out of the Kindle 2 Wireless, that capability is not readily apparent in the User’s Guide. So, if I’m refering to a map, not only do I need to go back to that page, I have no help if the resolution is poor. I really like to check reference notes. When I read “The Family,” by Jeff Sharlet, I lost a lot of context by my inability to flip to the notes and back. This is especially frustratining because I believe the notes ought to be as available as the online dictionary is.

Would I buy it again? You betcha. I live in Ukraine. I can download the books to my computer and then into my Kindle. The ability to buy a book online and begin reading it within 10 minutes has surely improved my leisure time here.

So, I hope the folks who build future models pay attention to these small things that can make a big difference. I believe this sort of media will be a permanent part of our interaction with writers. Bit by bit, each successive model ought to get closer to perfection.

A Broken Kindle 2 Wireless: Impressive Experience

By Ms. Maya “Maya”

I got my Kindle 2 Wireless a few weeks ago (around 2). A week later I took a trip. When I turned my Kindle on the first morning of vacation (no drops or problems had occurred) it would NOT start up. It was dead. Plugged in the charger, which was on ‘green’ but still nothing. Frantic I called Customer Service. After helping me for 10 minutes to try to restart the Kindle 2 Wireless and trying to send a message to my Kindle 2 Wireless (and getting no response), the Amazon C.S. member apologized and offered to send me a new Kindle 2 Wireless by free overnight delivery, at my hotel.

By 10:30 the next morning my new Kindle had appeared. THe C.S. person sent a packing slip by e-mail so the old Kindle 2 Wireless could be sent back (free) through any UPS office or the pick up at my office.

Wireless Kindle Best Price 3 Last Piece – Order Today Free 2 Day Shipping!

Wireless Kindle User Review…

By: Jessica White “happyjessica”

Keeping it brief–The New Wireless Kindle 2 is a Big Improvement!

I just ripped through the pretty packaging and I love my new Wireless Kindle 2! (I’m a late 30’s book lover. I read lots of fiction and non-fiction, and type in notes for my book club.)

It’s much thinner (and evenly flat as opposed to wedge shaped like the Kindle 1).

The cover (sold separately) is a vastly better design with clips that hold the Wireless Kindle firmly with no straps or elastic. Real leather.

The font size options include a slightly smaller font that before–looks great.

The screen has a higher degree of clarity than the Wireless Kindle 1.

Navigation is much easier with the 5-way button.

The only negative: I miss having a dedicated button to deactivate the wireess, but the overall device has improved so much that I will get over the loss quickly.

LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE!!!

I dropped it, they replaced it FREE!

By: K. Lambert

I have had my Wireless Kindle 2 since May of 2009, it’s now Dec. so a little over 6 months, I have always been a voracious reader & was skeptical about using a reading device, I knew how much I hated trying to read large documents on a computer! I was completely blown away. After the first few days of adjusting, now any time I switch back to a real book, I miss my Wireless Kindle!!

The text is clear & easy to read, it really does look just like a real book, the pages turn quickly (maybe not quite as quick as turning a page, but close), the battery holds a good long charge, books are quick & easy to purchase right from the device-no computer required & no internet connection (if your cell phone works, odds are your Wireless Kindle will too), & my husband loves the fact he’s no longer lugging my bag of books through the airport :) But the best part is the customer service: I recently dropped my Wireless Kindle 2 & called Customer Service just out of curiosity to see if there was anything they could do, I was unbelievably surprised to learn that THEY COVER FALLS & DROPS!! For one year Amazon will replace your Wireless Kindle ABSOLUTELY FREE if you drop it!

An amazing device just got even better!! They will ship the new device overnight & send a box to return it, all FREE! The new one is even supposed to be registered to me, I just have to use the archives to retrieve my books. I just can’t say enough good things about this company & this Wireless Kindle!! Don’t think about it anymore, get it, you won’t regret it!! But be sure to invest in a padded case, I like the vertically opening leather ones, you can find them on this site too :)
