Website Designing- Planning and Organizing are the Most Crucial Steps in Designing a Website
Website Designing- Planning and Organizing are the Most Crucial Steps in Designing a Website
Designing Your Directory Structure The first step to implementing a website is to design the directory structure. Unlike the Hollywood fairy tale of “build it and they will come,” designing a beautiful website isn’t enough. In the same manner that color bears great significance in our daily lives, so too does color play an important if not crucial role when designing a website. In order to increase the search engine optimization for your website, some new website designing needs to be done.
It’s not that difficult to build your own website and the following 10 reasons will convince you that designing a website that suits you and your market may lead to increased profits. However, it always happens that HTML editors write clumsy HTML tags, especially when you amend the webpage layout again and again during your website designing process, which may possibly deter search engines from reading your web page and in turn poorly affect your search engine ranking. Planning and organizing are the most crucial steps in designing a website.
Don’t get too caught up in all the fancy graphics when it comes to designing a website. A web designer needs to consider a variety of online selling principles while designing an eCommerce website. This article will help point out some key areas you should focus on when designing your own website. Irrelevant Content Is King when designing your website, and is equally important to both of the major groups who will determine the success of your web site. Pick a Reputable Website Designing Company In order to get the best website redesign, it is important to make sure that you choose a reputable, well liked company.
When designing your website or any promotional material, make sure you use language that all your customers understand. When designing your website, include these keywords in the page titles, Meta tags and heading tags. * Providing you with website and sales reports * Designing presentations for client meetings, Design depends on individual taste, and designing a website from a first draft that the client will like from the start, can be a real challenge.
Use website templates if you don’t have any designing flair. Keywords and Search Terms Your business keywords and search terms are also critical considerations when designing your website. Here’s a Fast Track Technique to make your job of designing and building a website a lot easier: All you really have to do is plan one page, your homepage, and then clone all your other 2nd and 3rd level pages. Graphic Tools for designing your own website online is also available.
Designing a Website with ZERO Marketing Experience — Most web designers have no idea how to make money on the internet, with anything other than their design services. If you are designing or maintaining your website then learn about Meta tags. Proper web design is not a difficult task; it is just a matter of designing your website from a viewer’s point of view. Designing the video jacket, website, figuring out how to market the video and get publicity all while trying to lose weight hard enough to do when you’re not stressed and food is you’re only vice.

Article Source: http://www.articlesbase.com/ – Business Website Design Preparation and Planning
A website is an international advertisement, therefore business website design preparation and planning requires a combination of many skills: business acumen, visualization, advertising knowledge, creativity, technical know how, etc. Hoping to be excused by critics, I would dare to compare the entire website design process with “wine making” which involves planning, collecting the choicest grapes, fermenting, maturing, bottling, advertising and selling the product. The inner satisfaction felt by a wine maker when he watches the wine mature before his eyes is similar to the pleasure felt by a web designer when he observes his project evolve.
“Preparation is half the game” in almost every area of life and thoroughly planning a website design is absolutely critical for its success. Having been in the industry for several years, often I have found that web designers spend some time seeing competitor websites & template concepts and then immediately start making the home page. This is a frivolous, merely presentational approach that does not show the web architect in a good light. In this article we will study some important steps of website design preparation and planning that can result in an international standard, user-oriented business website.
1. (Warren Buffett time) The CEO perspective: Read the information / material of the company and interact with their CEO / marketing head to acquire an understanding of their business and website design requirements. Create what I call a “CEO sheet” and note down the information they give you. What does the company want to achieve through the website? Which products, services or ideas do they want to highlight? What about the company’s brand image and customer focus? Naturally a CEO would think about business, more business, yet more business. While understanding the company’s business perspective do not forget the customers who allow the business to exist. Your website design planning should focus on building an enduring enterprise through the website, not just rapid fortune.
2. (David Ogilvy time) The Advertising perspective: Mental gymnastics is not effortless but if you have a strong imagination you will be able to comprehend many focus areas of the company’s advertising department. If possible, meet the Advertising Head. If the company does not have a dedicated PR / advertising department try changing the questions in the CEO sheet from “what/which” category to “how”? Think HOW you can use the website design to increase awareness of most important products, how to create a good reputation, how to improve customer perception etc.? Get information or think up punch lines that hit the customer, banners that catch the eye, special offers etc. Write down all of this on the second website design preparation sheet – “Advertising Objectives Sheet”.
3. (Chanakya Strategy Time) R & D: Before any website design concepts begin to take shape in your mind, it is time to do thorough research. Analyze (not view) design and functionality of competitor websites to assess their weaknesses and strengths. Look at the navigation, organization, performance, customer impact etc. and record what they are doing well and how you can do it better. For noting these points, I suggest that you create your third website design planning sheet titled “Competition Analysis”. Create a table with features as rows and competitor names as headings. Then write down your views about each feature in the relevant boxes.
4. (Srinivasa Ramanujan style) Dream time: By now your should have some idea about the business objectives and advertising strategies that your website design will incorporate. You also know what your website is going to be competing against. To avoid “analysis paralysis”, take a short mental break and indulge in daydreaming. This is the special prerogative of website designers – being paid to day dream on the job
Allow what you have done so far to draw a rough image of the website in your mind. Imagination is the true measure of intellect. Dream languidly or even fantasize about your website design till you begin to feel the excitement that indicates you are getting close to completing your website design preparation. Compare your dream image with hard business facts and mould the website design mentally.
5. (Common Man Time) Be thy customer: This is perhaps the single most important factor in website design preparation and planning. Customers’ website experiences not only affect brand satisfaction but also directly translates into sales. Imagine that you visit the website that you have mentally visualized. Would you feel at home with its colors, usability, functionality, personalization, level of detail, aesthetics, speed and security?
6. Leonardo Da Vinci Time: Mental refinements can only go so far. It is time now to amalgamate the mental imagery more concretely with our website design planning sheets. I have frequently stressed upon website designers to first draw their concepts on paper with colored pencils before starting their favorite editing software. It allows free expression without constraining your ideas to tool limitations. Draw, redraw and refine your concept. Refer to the CEO, Advertising and Competitive Analysis sheets frequently. Stop only when you are satisfied that all the mental exercise you have done in the above steps is well reflected in your drawing. Now consider the web designing tools that you will need yourself and consult with your web programming team regarding scripts, databases and other technical requirements of the website. I strongly suggest expanding knowledge of tools or finding alternate methods rather than completely distorting your drawn concept due to software limitations. If you try hard enough the solution will present itself.
7. (Sherlock Holmes Time) Resign: Sherlock himself did play the violin at strange hours and was acutely aware of the power of detachment. A well-rested free mind is a potent weapon. Let go of all thoughts related to website designing for a while and do something else. After a short total break begin designing your website.
Names of some famous people have been mentioned above for a reason. The more astute website designer can read about them in free time or on a holiday to acquire insights into requisite perspectives.
Talent fuels passion. Many would be inclined to think that after spending so much time and energy on website design preparation and planning, would one have enough left for implementing the same. Strange are the neuron pathways. The conscious and sub conscious are both far more powerful than we comprehend. You will pleasantly surprise yourself when occasionally the entire website design planning takes a few hours. One last word: Remember to savor and cherish your creation when it is complete.

Planning an Impressive Wedding on a Shoestring Budget
Planning an Impressive Wedding on a Shoestring Budget
By Deborah Collins
It was a day you’ll never forget. He dropped to one knee, presented you with a stunning engagement ring and you gleefully accepted with a resounding, “Yes!” The rush of adrenaline is relived each time you announce, “We’re getting married!” The excitement, however, can quickly diminish when the reality of wedding expenses hits home.
According to CostOfWedding.com, U. S. couples spend approximately ,000 on their weddings. To make matters worse, that figure doesn’t include the honeymoon, engagement ring, bridal consultants or wedding planner. Is it really possible to plan a memorable wedding without breaking the bank? Absolutely! These guidelines will help make your wedding day a success – from the wedding favors to the dress – without blowing your budget.
Designer Dresses At Knock-Off Prices
One of the most important items in planning a wedding is choosing the right dress. You want a dress that looks breathtaking as you walk down the aisle. One that will leave a lasting impression on everyone in attendance. With designer gowns costing thousands of dollars, how do you find a dress that’s both breathtaking and affordable? One suggestion is to attend Filene’s “Running of the Brides.” This event began in 1947 and is held in major cities across the country. They offer famous designer wedding gowns that range in price from 9 to 9. These sales are a fantastic way to buy the dress of your dreams at a fraction of the cost.
Another possibility is to shop online for consignments. Many brides put their dresses up for sale after the ceremony. You can find gorgeous dresses that cost much less than you’d pay for them in a salon or department store. If you’re the sentimental type, your mother, aunt or sister would probably be thrilled to loan you their dress. You many even start a new family tradition.
Endless Options for Affordable Flowers
Popular flowers for bridal bouquets are roses, lilies and gardenias. While these flowers are indeed beautiful, they can also be quite expensive. Once again, check online when looking for flowers.
There are a number of companies that ship fresh flowers at much more reasonable rates than local florists. There are also packages that can be ordered which include the bridal bouquet, rose petals for the flower girl, bridesmaid’s flowers and boutonnieres for the groom and groomsmen. If this is still out of range, try substituting carnations for roses. Carnations are dainty and frilly, come in a rainbow of colors, and cost about half the price of roses. Your florist can also offer an abundance of ideas that meet your budget.
Another popular option is silk flowers. Better-quality silk bouquets are hard to distinguish from the real thing and can cost as little as . Silk flowers never die, so they can be easily stored as keepsakes. Silk flowers also alleviate allergens that might annoy those in attendance.
An Impressive Reception On A Shoestring
Most couples allocate almost half the wedding budget to the reception. However, you can throw a fabulous reception without going overboard financially. Here are some smart strategies that can save big bucks without looking cheap.
Evening weddings are typically more formal and offer a reception with a sit down dinner. One cost-saving tip is to stay away from steak and lobster, and substitute chicken or pasta. Not only are these items less expensive, they are also healthier.
Alcohol is another significant expense. Instead of going for a full, open bar, try keeping it simple. Offer guests two or three impressive wines that go well with your meal. If the sit-down dinner strains your financial plans, try moving your wedding time to early afternoon. Receptions held at that time typically offer hors d’oeuvres instead of a meal, which can reduce your cost tremendously.
Memorable Wedding Favors
Who said distinctive wedding favors have to cost a fortune? There are countless options when it comes to finding personalized, unique wedding favors your guests will adore.
While personalized napkins and matches are reception mainstays, you might also want to add personalized votive candles, Hershey kisses, and chocolate bars. Guests always appreciate gourmet coffee and tea selections, as well as individual-sized honey jars that bear the names of you and your groom. These are creative ways to offer guests a memorable – albeit thrifty – keepsake of your special day.
Following these simple suggestions can help you relax and enjoy your wedding day while still keeping your budget in tact. And with all the money you save, you might just be able to extend your honeymoon!
SEO Planning
SEO Planning
The primary reason why you need a solid SEO plan is profitability. Search Engine Optimization is the least expensive form of affiliate marketing. Most people use search engines to gather information on products or services. A low search engine placing will mean your site is passed over time and again.
There are five reasons why SEO is essential, all of which can assist a businesses earnings. Beginning with what is the foundation of SEO marketing: content. Providing unique content so that the web site becomes a trusted resource on a set of topics.
First is search engine ranking. Search engine spiders love content. If the content matches the HTML title tag, an important optimization technique, and the content contains common keywords there will be more opportunities for the website to land on the first page of search results. Targeted content of decent quality will attract potential customers specifically searching for what you have to offer.
A relevant content website promotes better search engine results and will lead to a lasting impression on the websites visitors. A web site in the top results that provides no information will find their visitors don’t return. Quality content will lead visitors back again and again. Search engine optimization will result in new and repeat visitors.
Content that is relevant to your topic will lead to more referrals. People will link to web sites they find useful and intend on coming back to. This traffic is independent of search engines and is the foundation of viral marketing. One part of SEO is ensuring visitors can easily refer other visitors.
Then there is backlinking. This has two uses, quality content can lead to other sites linking to the article. This will drive traffic as well as elevating search engine ranking.
Finally optimizing for search engines by and large improves the website. A content and informative site will grow brand recognition and repeat visitors. Concentrate on meeting your visitor requirements and not on seeking to fool the search engine spiders. SEO is about excellent content with relevant keywords. More information on search engine optimization can be found at The Affiliate Reporter – SEO.

The Essentials Of Keyword Planning
The Essentials Of Keyword Planning
Remember the web in the old days? You could cram in a bunch of keywords at the bottom of the page regardless of grammar, and pretty much devoid of any aesthetic sense, and search engines ate it up. It’s probably a good thing those days are over because websites have become a lot more professional. That still doesn’t mean that people are using keywords to the best of their advantage. In fact, because it is much harder to write keyword-targeted content, many site owners avoid the issue.
This is good news for anyone looking to improve their page ranking. The market is wide open for people who use an effective keyword strategy. The main issues are both quality and quantity. A few pages of keyword-driven content just aren’t going to do it anymore. If you’re really looking to improve your search engine ranking, and ultimately improve your sales, you have to provide dozens of pages of content.
To do so, you need to first research keyword strategies employed by competing businesses. Type in the most obvious keyword for your industry. What comes out in the top ten? What have those sites done to achieve that ranking? Keyword planning tools will tell you the popularity of certain keywords, but you should do some brainstorming on your own. Try and think every possible permutation of a possible search, including misspellings—even for easy-to-spell words.
Each search engine will provide keyword planning tools, potentially for a fee—you can check the keyword relevancy in Google, Overture, Yahoo, and others. It’s not a bad idea to check how keyword popularity compares in different search engines. You should be looking at potentially a hundred or more keywords—though this can vary according to the site. If a site sells a variety of different products, or provides different services, you’re going to be able to multiply that keyword list.
Each keyword list should be tailored to a specific demographic. Once you have the keyword list together, it is time to optimize content so that the site provides relevant content surrounding that list of keywords. The most important part of content optimization is the title. What this means is you should title the article with a specific keyword in mind—the HTML link for the article is vital for page rank. This keyword should then be repeated in the article—but not so much that the text becomes unnatural or, worse, unreadable.
If that’s the case, you could risk the site being banned by search engines outright. In addition to keyword popularity tools, you should also use keyword density tools for your site’s content. If the keyword density is too high, the site could be red-flagged as offering unnatural, inorganic content. All of these issues are core to keyword planning.

Strategic Planning Using Strategic Filters And Widly Important Goals
Strategic Planning Using Strategic Filters And Widly Important Goals
Abstract
The strategic planning process can take many paths. It can require months of preparatory analysis or simply use the collective knowledge of the management team. Either method requires that the company make decisions on its future course. In this paper we will show how to use Strategic Filters as a way to sift through the data and make the best decisions. Then, we will focus these decisions into a few Wildly Important Goals (WIGs) that will be resourced and completed.
Strategic Planning: Strategic Filters & Wildly Important Goals
Driving Force Filter – The Competitive Advantage you can Prove
Emerging Trend Filter
Customer Filter
Wildly Important Goals
Strategy Map
Driving Force Filter
The driving force is the key differentiator or competitive advantage of the company. The most important element of the driving force is the proof. If you want your employees and your customers to believe it, then you must find the data that backs up your claim.
Here is a list of things that are NOT acceptable examples of driving force:
Knowledgeable employees
Customer Service
Quality
Trust
Responsiveness
Reputation
Innovation
Etc.
The reason these are not good examples is that any company can claim these and everyone is saying it. If everyone is saying it, then no one will believe it.
Here are some driving force examples that the marketplace can believe are real differentiators:
Innovation / Experience – We invented surgical-adhesive to replace sutures. The use of surgical-adhesive reduces surgical time by 20 – 90% with lower risk of infection.
Speed – We will produce any custom product in 2 weeks or less versus our competitors who are at 6 weeks or more.
Rugged – We produce the most rugged portable power generation equipment for military use. Our mean-time-between-failure is 10,000 + hours.
Customer Service / Training – We trained 1580 customer-mechanics in service/repair techniques last year and have two mechanics dedicated to assisting customer-mechanics over the phone.
Product Leadership – We are the only Consulting Firm in the Midwest with experience applying quantitative process improvement tools to streamline sales and marketing; reducing costs and growing sales.
Once you know and agree on the Driving Force for your company, you can use this to understand:
What you did to be the best
The core competencies that support your Driving Force
How you stay the best
Emerging Trend Filter
Emerging trends are outside forces that you cannot control and may impact your business. These may include:
Economic/monetary trends
Political/regulatory trends
Social/demographic trends
Market conditions
Customer attributes/habits
Competitor profiles/mix
Technology evolution
Manufacturing capabilities
Product design/content
Sales & marketing methods
Distribution methods/systems
Resources – natural/human/financial
We want these to be a strategic filter because they may require you to change your business model beyond internal competencies and customer requirements. They will impact how you:
Sell
Distribute
Purchase
Plan acquisitions
Develop new products and services
We have lived during a time of great external disruption. Books and newspapers are a great example. Amazon changed book buying by making almost every book ever published available, either new through its warehouses or used via used-book partners. Instead of buying just what is in the bookstore you can buy whatever you want, get recommendations for new books based on what you previously bought and read comments from other consumers before you buy.
Then Amazon changed again by offering the Kindle E-reader linked to its online bookstore. Now you can have thousands of books 1 minute after you, buy delivered wirelessly over cell networks. Newspapers and magazines are delivered to your Kindle every night at 3 AM. No ink, no printing, no late or missing delivery service, no problem when you travel. Instead, you get perfect service.
Now we now have the IPAD from Apple, which promises to embed graphics and videos within books, magazines and newspapers. This will incorporate the e-delivery features of the Kindle and make the reading experience completely different.
Printers and Publishers needed to see these trends coming, to survive and thrive. These developments can shut down huge companies and make others clear winners.
Other trends of note are environmental/clean-tech, monetary/interest rates and global markets/supply chains.
Customer Filter
Understanding your customers completes the filter-puzzle and will allow you to make the best decisions on your strategic plan. A significant time is spent understanding who are your best customers. We recommend a quantitative approach of choosing the key measureable characteristics that are important to your organization and then using Pareto Analysis to sort your customers from best to worst based on these measures.
Once you know who your best customers are you can determine the characteristics that they share. Communicating through the sales force or directly with these customers you need to ask two critical questions:
Why do they buy from you?
What pain do they have?
At the end of the Customer-Filter session you will know:
Who your best customer are
The characteristics of the best (what differentiates them from everyone else)
Why customers buy from you
What pain customers have that you may be able to solve (with special emphasis put on the best customers)
Wildly Important Goals (WIGs)
With all the preparatory work complete you can now create your strategic plan. The best companies always focus on achieving a few wildly important goals. Everyone in your organization is working on the important things every day. Serving customers, delivering product, coaching employees, buying, etc. are all important and need to happen every day, week and month. Strategic Planning looks out on a longer time horizon. Therefore we need to go above the important and focus on a few (3 or less) Wildly Important Goals that will take longer but will create breakthrough results for your organization.
This focus gives the plan a sense of reality. Lots of organizations try to do too many things and end up either not getting most done or doing an average job. You want to be great!
These WIGs can include:
Acquisitions or divestitures
Major capital expenditures
Product development
Geographic expansions
Entire new businesses or brands
Marketing campaigns
Globalize the supply chain
Internal process improvement efforts (Lean Six Sigma)
Implementing new information technology systems
And endless other ideas
Strategy Map
The last step is too align the organization with the Wildly Important Goals. A Strategy Map is a simple tool to visually show how each department is going to support each WIG.

Online Marketing – Planning Equals Profit!
One of the prime reasons for the internet slaying most other forms of media in recent years is that it is a superb medium for quickly and efficiently reaching a target audience. Targeted internet marketing refers to the practice of specifically targeting an audience that is looking for what you are selling. It may sound like a daunting prospect, but if you can pull it off then it can be extremely profitable. Before putting any sort of marketing campaign into action you must come up with a well planned strategy. This isn’t to say that there won’t be an element of trial and error as it is perfectly normal for marketers to take calculated risks. In industry where it is necessary to take such leaps of faith then it will benefit you hugely to understand targeted internet marketing. This is the only way that you will be able to find out whether a strategy or plan works or not. Of course no one will get it right every time – there is always an element of risk when it comes to business.SEO is an important element of any online campaign so this is well worth learning if you don’t know the ins and ours already. To target the correct audience you will need to learn the importance of writing highly targeted SEO copy as well as relevant informative articles. it is important that your site will rank well for relevant competitive keywords and phrases so you need to study what keywords your audience will use.In important part of this keyword research is to analyse the sites you intend to compete with. This will reveal important information to you that will be useful when it comes to design and optimise your site. It will also let you know how hard you will need to work in order to outrank them.Article marketing is an extremely effective tool for the seasoned internet marketer as it is a proven method that works. However it is important to keep in mind that for it to work effectively the content needs to be written extremely well and there should be a powerful call to action in the resource box.You should find time to perform research in order to find other blogs and websites that are in your particular market niche so that you can request link exchanges. If you can get linked with high ranking websites then this will help your search engine placement greatly. Keep your keyword research in mind and try to acquire links with relevant anchor text. This will also help the popularity of your website.Try to join some online forums which are relevant to your product or market niche. Members of forums will be able to recognise in an instant whether you are there solely to plug a product so it is important that you are a friendly and frequent participant who is able to impart useful and engaging advice. Most blogs will allow you to leave a link to your site in the footer of your posts.Compile a mailing list by including an opt-in form on your website. Email lists are another proven strategy used for online marketing. Once you have built up a substantial list of email addresses, you will be able to keep your readership informed of upcoming products and services. Keep any correspondance short and to the point as people may start to unsubscribe if they suspect you are providing them with nothing more than spam.An online marketing campaign isn’t an instant fix and requires time, effort and hard work but the rewards are there so persistance is the key!
SEO Marketing Planning – Spending Capital Wisely
Although different in structure from brick-and-mortar companies, the principle of âspending money to make moneyâ counts as much in the virtual business world as anywhere else. The amounts spent may differ, but will still need to be properly addressed in a solid SEO business plan. The big question is how to allocate a business budget in a way that will make your revenue grow.
1. Tools
A home-based start-up company does not need much more than a computer and an Internet connection. Depending on the type of business you are conducting you may also need other equipment, such as a phone, fax machine, printer, or postage scale.
2. Staff
It is every business ownerâs dream to be successful and when that goal is in reach, you may need to hire staff or contractors. Paying yourself is easy, dealing with payroll and invoices, not so much. Accounting and administration take time away from important business transactions and do not generate revenue. For that reason, hiring an accountant would be a smart solution. Their familiarity with tax deductions can save you bundles of money and their fee can be included in next yearâs expenses.
Hiring personnel entails more than wages and insurance. Your overhead will increase substantially, because employees need office space, equipment, training, travel, non-productive vacation days and whatever other benefits you want to offer. So, before hiring staff, carefully compare the possible revenue staff members can bring to the overall cost they generate. If the revenue numbers are favorable, start drafting job requests.
3. Marketing
Never rely on âWord of mouthâ alone to get your business known. An integrated advertising campaign should include ads in trade papers, infomercials and other media approaches, as well as a detailed Search Engine Optimization (SEO) strategy.
Whatever promotion techniques you finally decide on, remember to keep checking the result of your efforts. Not all marketing venues may be right for you and you may be wasting valuable resources. In addition, balance your marketing budget and do not overextend it!
4. Marketing budget
Determining an appropriate budget level is vital to any great marketing strategy. In general, companies will assign advertising funds depending on their sales. They will take their total sales figures for a specific time period and allot a certain percentage of those numbers for their next publicity time slot. Coupled to the sales figures, advertising funding for each assigned period will then either increase, diminish, or remain stable.
One formula for retail businesses, as well as SEO, is to take 10 % and 12 % of the projected annual, gross sales and multiply each by the markup made on average transactions. Then deduct annual cost of occupancy or rent from the adjusted 10 % and 12% of sales numbers. The result represents the minimum and maximum acceptable ad budget for a year.
This particular formula is only a guide and it will be up to you to decide how much money and time you actually want to spend on your marketing and SEO. Important for you to remember is that advertising usually moves in tandem with sales.
Unfortunately, newly launched businesses wonât have any sales figures to work with and will have to project sales. They can try figuring out how much competitors are spending on advertising, or keep adjusting their marketing budget until they have real statistics.Â
5. Objectives
Planning detailed marketing strategies and budgets is crucial to any company success. Maintain realistic objectives and divide your goals into manageable sections. Smaller targets are easier to realize and will not overwhelm you, especially if you are an SEO novice.Â
Todayâs economy is always in motion and every successful business owner or manager knows that staying informed about innovative SEO marketing possibilities is undoubtedly as valuable as any other aspect of doing business. Follow the changes and adapt. Just think about social networking services and websites, such as YouTube, Facebook and Twitter. Use them to your advantage and before you know it your profits will be shooting through the roof!
