Do you want to read newspapers on your iPad? And do you know how to read newspapers on your iPad? If you don’t know how to read newspapers on your ipad, the how- to below will show you.

Apple’s ipad is well built for the purpose of reading newspapers and magazine. The book-like user interface, navigation aids, graphics and vivid color display makes reading newspapers and magazines on the ipad particularly more enjoyable than on the kindle.

I have tried reading papers on the Kindle, and I didn’t find the experience to be interesting. I missed the graphics and navigation aids I expected with the physical papers. But on the iPad, the applications look a lot better, and in general, reading the papers that way has been a great experience.

On the ipad you can read ebooks and newspapers in flip book style reading. You can also read the best newspapers from top publishers on the iPad in a few simple clicks. Newspaper reading is especially customized for comfortable big screen viewing.

Downloading newspapers to read on your ipad is very simple and can be summarized in three simple steps:

First Step:

Buy an ipad. Head over to apple.com, amazon or your trusted local retailer and purchase one. Its going to cost you between 9-9 for an ipad of your model of choice at apple.com.

Second step:

Tap on the apps icon on iPad home screen to check the apps that are installed on your iPad. You can go to an App store and add applications for top newspapers like New York Times. Purchase the iBooks app if you intend to read e-books also. Apple will charge .99 for iBooks, which is compatible with their Mac versions. Appsare also available to access news content from BBC News, USA today, Wall Street Journal, Financial times among others (most newspapers charge a subscription fee). you can search the apps store for desired news apps.

Third step:

Once your newspaper app is loaded on iPad, Adjust the screen and light to how you want to read. Select the number of columns and fonts you would like to read with. The New York Times app for instance has a drop-down contextual menus and support for multi-touch functionality. Relax and enjoy reading

Social Media News Releases Explained

Social Media News Releases Explained

You’ve surely heard the term “social media news release” in all the buzz about the new, social Web, but what does it mean? A social media news release is just like a traditional news release, except that it is also social media and Web 2.0 optimized. In short, this kind of news release encourages interactivity, is easily shared in the social Web, and contains a number of other Web 2.0 elements.

Generally, these additional elements include:

* Multimedia items, such as downloadable images, PDF/DOC files, or audio/video files.
* A way for readers to comment directly on the news release content.
* An obvious and easy way for readers to bookmark the news release in social bookmarking sites, or to share it via email.
* Technorati tags and links to purpose-built del.icio.us pages.

If you or your business produce online or email press releases regularly, you should be utilizing social media news releases. Like everything else on the Internet today, there is an expectation that content will be interactive, easily shared, and will offer sources to similar information. If your news releases do not live up to these expectations, your chances for major media coverage may be hurt. It’s fairly simple to create your own social media releases, or you can use a service like PRWeb. And, since a social media news release is just a traditional release with added elements, you do not need to change your present format, just include some additional sections. These added elements include:

Multimedia section: Here you will offer a number of downloadable items, including PDF or Word documents, such as book excerpts, advanced reviews, white papers, brochures, etc., and images, like author photos, company executive photos, book cover art, company logos. Also provide any relevant podcasts and video clips in this section.

Technorati tag section: Use this section to list links to Technorati pages that are tagged with a list of good key terms relevant to your news release.

Social bookmarking section: In this section, provide links to any of your relevant purpose-built del.icio.us pages. You could also provide links to relevant pages on Digg.com or any other social bookmarking and crowd-sourced news sites.

Sharing and commenting: In addition to the sections listed above, you should also make it as easy as possible for your readers to share or bookmark your release in any number of ways. Allowing visitors to comment on your news release makes it truly interactive.

Social media section: If you don’t have a social media newsroom to refer your readers to, you should consider adding a section to your news release that lists where you have a presence in the social Web. Link to your profiles in places like MySpace, Facebook, Squidoo, Twitter, Flickr, YouTube, etc.

Creating your news releases using a blogging platform like WordPress makes it easy to incorporate the additional social media optimizing features. Commenting is already built in, and there are a number of good plugins for adding Technorati tags to WordPress posts and for social bookmarking, among other features.

Check the Latest Product News

Personafile is the world of new and interesting products. Here you can find any product news, tips and recommendations in case you have already purchased some products and you want to enhance them. Personafile delivers product news information in a timely, reliable and complete manner covering the whole range of products from consumer products through waste handling equipment.

You can find for example, Microsoft and Dell product news. These are two technology giants, two lifesaving pills at time. Microsoft and Dell are huge companies and the RED product can help many people. In a statement, Dell and Microsoft’s Windows Vista team announced they were teaming up to create a line of personal computers for RED, an initiative focused on fighting the HIV/AIDS crisis in Africa. These two of the biggest technology brands in the world team up to raise money and awareness in the fight against HIV/AIDS in Africa, the greatest health crisis of our time.

If you visit Personafile, you will find Sony product news as well. Sony announced its DSC-T300, the latest in its line of touch-controlled slim digital cameras. You could almost describe it as a ‘tablet camera’ as all controls bar the shutter release have been dispensed with and replaced with a gargantuan 3.5″ touch panel filling the entire rear surface of the device. Whilst not a button fest in the traditional sense, Sony has certainly not held back on cramming it full of gadgets and gizmos.

They have taken advantage of the unique interface to present such features as Child/Adult priority Face Detection, Face Search and DRO Plus (Dynamic Range Optimization). Information related to new 4 new Sony models in W-series of digital compact cameras is available as well. When set to the shooting mode the camera automatically releases the shutter when the subject smiles. The DSC-W170 and DSC-W150 sport a 5x Carl Zeiss Vario Tessar lens while the smaller sister models DSC-W130 and DSC-W120 (available in March) come with a 4x zoom. All cameras will be offered in a range of colors so one can perfect (or ruin) images all without them ever leaving the camera. 9 will secure a T300 when it hits the shops.

You will keep you and your family safe by consulting consumer products information posted on Personafile. You will find several question and answers regarding consumer products, and different articles.

An interesting article is about how rising food prices. A chart accompanying the article details a 6 percent jump in the overall cost of food for home consumption from 2005 through 2007, ranging from hikes of 3.1 percent for fats and oils and 3.3 percent for poultry to 9.5 percent for fish and seafood and 35.5 percent for eggs. The U.S. Department of Agriculture is forecasting a 4 to 5 percent climb in food prices for 2008, double the level of 2005.

If you want to buy a separate freezer to store certain foods, you should read first the Buyer’s guide to and review of freezers. You can find some advices if you plan to purchase a stand-alone freezer. You should figure the capacity you need, consider local problems, check the controls and lights. An interior light makes it easier to find foods, especially if the freezer is in a dimly lighted area. A power-on light on the outside of the freezer lets you see at a glance that the freezer is on.

These are just some of the consumer products advices. You can find also tips for great burgers, kitchen remodeling, consumer products certification.

Mini-Laptops – In The Spotlight | Laptop Battery News by aussie-battery.com

Mini-Laptops – In The Spotlight | Laptop Battery News by aussie-battery.com

Smaller than traditional laptops but larger than handhelds, mini-laptops offer most of the features you get from their bulky ancestors – web browsing, document creation, editing, and email – just slightly scaled down in terms of both size and power. Most appealing of all, they’re cheap. Mini-laptops range from 9 (for the most bare-bones version of the Asus Eee) up to ,399 for a fully-loaded Fujitsu LifeBook U810. Though there’s some category overlap, mini-laptops shouldn’t be confused with ultra-mobile PCs (UMPCs), which more closely resemble handhelds and cost more (prices range from about 0 to ,500) and the more-powerful ultra-portable PCs, such as Lenovo’s ThinkPad X300, which sells for a pricey ,420.

Of course, there are some tradeoffs that come with mini-laptops’ bargain basement prices.

“You’re not going get a super-powerful processor in there, and usually you’re limited on storage space,” says Ian Bell, editor in chief of Digital Trends, a consumer-technology analysis site.

In addition, most subnotebooks lack CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drives so you won’t be able to play movies on your computer.

Mini-laptops trace their roots back to the One Laptop Per Child project, a program started by an MIT professor with the goal of providing every child in the developing world with a 0 laptop. Computer manufacturing companies soon took advantage of the commercial opportunity these tiny laptops created. With the 2007 release of the Asus Eee, a surprise hit for Taiwan’s Asustek, mini-laptops got their jumpstart.

The Eee is so popular, “now everyone is trying to copy them,” says Dan Ackerman, senior editor at CNET.com.

A slew of Taiwanese vendors unveiled models at June’s Computer expo, but rival products from big brands like Dell are on the way, too. Many use Intel’s power-efficient Atom CPU along with solid-state disk (SSD) drives, for better battery life, boot times, and shock resistance.

The laatest Laptop Computer Industry News

The laatest Laptop Computer Industry News

For years self dubbed tree huggers have been publicizing the world’s need to go green in order to protect the planet from harmful chemicals that could potentially impact the environment. Now it seems you can’t open a magazine or turn on the TV without seeing news about how to go green. Even celebrities have joined the cause with fundraisers and eco-friendly clothing lines. The go green movement has grown to the point that now you can go online and find laptops that are safer for the environment.

The Electronic Product Environmental Assessment Tool (EPEAT) has rated almost 300 laptops in an effort to give the public a place to find environmentally friendly laptops. EPEAT has a list of requirements that notebooks must meet in order to receive either their bronze, silver, or gold seal. According to their website bronze is awarded to laptops that meet all their required criteria, whereas silver means a notebook met all their criteria in addition to half the optional criteria they have for laptop computers. For gold, the product must meet all criteria as well as 75% of all their optional criteria for an eco-friendlier product.

According to the Environmental News Network (ENN) among the greener laptops reported through EPEAT, they favor the Lenovo Thinkpad X300, Toshiba Portege R500-S5007V, HP 2710p Tablet Computer, and the Apple MacBook Air.

Replacement Laptop Battery For LENOVO ThinkPad X300 Series

http://www.battery-company.com.au/laptop-battery-model.php/lenovo_ThinkPad+X300+Series_1_4125.htm

Specifications

Part No: ThinkPad X300 Series Product ID: NLV018 Battery Type: Li-polymer Volt: 11.2 V Capacity: 2400mAh Weight: 334.53g Dimension: 255.30 x 72.15 x 9.90mm Color: Black Org. Price: AU $ 112.04 Promotion Price: AU .35 (inc. GST)

On ENN’s news website they chose these laptops for their gold seal from EPEAT as well as for the efforts Lenovo, Toshiba, HP, and Apple went through in order to decrease hazardous chemicals in their notebooks. The Lenovo Thinkpad X300 has mecury-free LEDs in the monitor, contains an energy efficient processor, and their packaging materials are 90% recyclable. These were big pluses for ENN.

The Toshiba Portege R500-S5007V among other Toshiba notebooks has introduced alternatives to phthalates and other hazardous chemicals. The HP 2710p Tablet Computer is also energy efficient. In addition HP has said they would try to eliminate hazardous chemicals from their laptops including PVC. Finally the Apple MacBook Air contains an LCD screen that is mercury as well as arsenic-free. The laptop has an aluminum case that is recyclable and has PVC free components.

Several other laptop models including some Dell Latitudes, Toshiba Tecra’s, and HP Elitebook laptop models made the list.

It looks like going green has gone beyond media attention and into our electronics. Going green has moved beyond a trend and is turning into a lifestyle.

The goal of many laptop computer companies is to create a laptop that costs only 0. The purpose of this goal is to offer a less expensive laptop option for developing countries. Keeping the price at 0 would help developing countries expand their school curriculum and offer the opportunity to raise their status in the world. Recently, Gartner, Inc., an analyst group announced that though this dream of the 0 laptop is nice, it may not happen in the near future.

According to Gartner the cost of creating, packaging, shipping, and of maintaining permanent technical support makes it nearly impossible to achieve the goal of offering a laptop for such a low price. In their announcement analysts also mentioned other concerns.

Annett Jump on a press release on Gartner’s website stated that, “The economic benefits of IT literacy in emerging markets are currently driving the push for the 0 PC but there are many open questions that remain…These include determining the relevant hardware specifications, power availability, availability and cost of Internet connection, as well as providing adequate finance and payment options for emerging markets where funds may well be extremely limited.”

With such a great goal, it is of little wonder that the push for a cheap laptop is the top goal for many laptop companies. This goal is one that Gartner doesn’t deny is worthwhile; however, their main point is that there are more factors to consider for this cheap laptop including what specific curriculum needs are present in the different countries they will service as well as who will train teachers to incorporate this new technology into their daily routine.

So, when does Gartner believe the laptop industry will achieve this inexpensive laptop? According to their publication, it’s at least two to three years away. Although hardware has gotten cheaper and will most likely continue to get cheaper, things such as hardware and technical support are likely to stay at the same price. Until these additional factors become cheaper Gartner believes that 0 is far too low a goal. Currently laptop manufacturers have been able to reduce costs to between 0 and 0.

What Gartner believes will emerge as a more lucrative and expanding market is the mini-notebook sector. Jump was quoted as stating, “We expect to see increased product innovation in the PC market during the next few years…Mini-notebooks will create opportunities to reach many buyers across all regions, both in mature markets as additional devices, and in emerging markets as PCs.”

Maybe 0 for a laptop is just a dream, but it’s not a dream that won’t come true. This goal just needs to be refined a little more before it goes from dream/goal to reality.

Laptop computers are increasingly becoming more popular. There has even been data supporting the idea that laptops will eventually overtake desktops in sales. With increasing popularity comes a surge in laptop sales.

In a recent report from DisplaySearch Data, laptop companies displayed growth in sales. According to the report the top 5 laptop manufacturers are HP (Hewlett-Packard), Dell, Acer, Toshiba, and Lenovo. These companies have consistently stayed at or near the top for years.

Several of these companies showed growth; however, the most startling growth came from Apple. Apple notebook sales saw a 61% gain in sales. This gain bumped them up and into the #7 spot for leading laptop manufacturers.

Although Apple laptop sales are impressive, the big question is can they break the top 5? Apple’s sales volume is lower than those in the top 5. However, if they continue to make significant increases they may be known for more than just the iPod or iPhone.

There are many reasons why Apple laptops may be gaining popularity. One reason could be the popularity of the iPod and iPhone. Satisfying consumers with one product can convince them to purchase others from the same manufacturer.

Only time will tell whether or not Apple will gain more momentum and reach the #5 spot.

iPhone News Never Fail To Excite

Not even three months after its monumental release, Apple’s iphone is making really big news not only in the traditional media but also in the World Wide Web. iphone news have recently become more than just about features of the touchscreen-phone iPod. In fact, a person around the world search for iphone news even before the phone was launched last June.

When the rumors first came out that Steve Jobs’ Apple will be issuing an iPod with call and SMS capabilities, a lot of people have started calling it an iphone. With no official iphone news from Apple, many bloggers and tech enthusiasts have started discussing about the then-to-be-launched iphone. Soon, more iphone news was published in the Internet.

Truth be told, when Apple made the iphone available to public that very historic Friday in June, iphone news was indeed big news! Customers lined up for the iphone launch. The earliest was Monday, 4-days before the official launch. iphone news has it that many were excited with the product that combines an iPod, amobile phone, and even a wireless Internet device into one.

Apple Fans Love the Latest iphone News

Until today, Apple has never failed to give the Apple lovers and even those who think the cellphone is just hype with all the iphone news they want. The first week of September saw the release of Apple’s newest iPod models: the clip-on shuffle in new colors, the new fatty iPod Nano, the iPod classic, and the iPod Touch. The announcement proved to bring another Apple sensation in the media and the world. Just like iphone news, reports on the newest iPods are taking the world by storm.

However, early iphone adapters are disappointed with Steve Job’s statement that the iPone’s price will go down by almost 0, 3 months after they bought the 9 Apple phone. The change in price came with the release of iPod touch—an iphone without the phone. But 2 days after the announcement during Apple’s The Special Event, Steve Job’s sent out an open letter to the iphone owners that they will be receiving a 0 store credit reward. Now, the iphone owners are more than happy with the rebate after crying foul over the price cut.

Over the past few months of iphone news history, it is easy to note that Apple iphone is not just hype nor hysteria. It can be considered as a breakthrough gadget because it paved the way for many new hi-tech gadgets such as touchscreen phones, touchscreen MP3 players, and of course, the new iPods. http://www.the-iphone.biz

Are Subsidized Netbooks Bad News for Open Networks?

Are Subsidized Netbooks Bad News for Open Networks?

AT&T’s plan to offer subsidized netbooks for (and more, depending on which model the subscriber opts for) raises interesting questions. The most basic is what means to the open access debate.

As the name implies, open access is the ability of customers to link any device that passes technical muster to a carrier’s network. Verizon Wireless and AT&T have paid homage to the concept and, indeed, some devices – mostly in the machine-to-machine sector – employ it.

This week, as reported by PC Magazine and others, AT&T said that customers opting for two-year Wi-Fi and a 3G plans will be able to buy an Acer Aspire One, a Dell Inspiron, LG Xenia or Mini 9 or Mini 12 for between .99 and 9.99, though the precise price of each was not revealed.

Of course, the fact that carriers are moving the subsidization concept from phones to netbooks doesn’t mean that open access is dead. However, it shows that the carriers still like the proprietary concept, and probably are willing to spend a lot of money in order to marginalize approaches that make it easier for customers to come and go. PC Magazine puts it like this:

Subsidizing phones has been the norm for a number of years, with mobile vendors eating the cost of the phone hardware in exchange for the ability to charge users for voice and data plans, and to upsell them on services. But subsidizing netbooks is relatively new, and it remains to be seen whether consumers will look upon a netbook as another device that they’re willing to lock themselves into a contract to own.

Verizon Wireless also is onboard with selling subsidized netbooks, though details are sketchy. InformationWeek reports that the carrier confirmed a previous Reuters report that it was going to offer the devices. The piece says that no other information was offered. It is fleshed out with speculation that the carrier is considering the Dell and HP products, including the latter’s HM Mini 1000.

Smartphones and netbooks may be drawing closer, as well. Datamation’s Mike Elgan indulges in well grounded speculation. He says that netbooks are great sellers, but that they wear out their welcomes rather quickly. He describes why, and says that the challenges would be met by eschewing PC operating systems in favor of the OSes used to power smartphones. He describes the rationale for this, and it seems convincing. Again, using a smartphone OS in a netbook isn’t a smoking gun pointing to the death of the open network concept. It certainly seems like a step in the other direction, however. Says Elgan:

The cell phone model – giving away or heavily subsidizing cell phones in exchange for a two-year commitment on a wireless contract – will work great for netbooks. AT&T and other carriers have announced special divisions to look at such deals.

The bottom line is that open networks are not in carriers’ best interests because they loosen the reins they hold on subscribers. Carrier’s game plan will be to cajole the FCC — something that got a lot harder for the industry due to the election — and use their significant public relations machines. They also will offer customers a terrific deal on the hot device de jure in exchange for fealty to their networks.

The Viral News On Free Ipad: An Early Trick To Treat For Everyone

There’s been news going around of the new iPad from Apple. This device is simply amazing and will probably stop its competitors right off their tracks. Meaning there will be no room for them to outdo this heaven of a device. However, wait, there’s also news of free iPad to be given away!

Now why a heaven of a device would be given away for free? Yes sir it is! This like the earliest trick or treat ever. However, it’s much more of a treat than a trick. iPad is given out to anyone who wants to be its tester. By given out, it means it is giving away for free to a deserving tester.

This device is probably the hottest thing, there is ever since shoes were even invented. It simply is the device with capital D. The features, functionality and look and feel are to die for that everyone in this planet wants it now. Although people have to wait ‘until April, but the good news is you can have it now for free.

iPad testers are needed immediately. The job is very simple, just to test iPad and feedback comments of its over-all impact. That is in terms of functionality, features, applications and aesthetics. Because it is handed without costing you a dollar, it is expected that unbiased comments will be given as feedback.

Getting a free iPad as its tester is probably the coolest and smartest thing to do. It’s because not only that you get to critique this device, but you also get this without burning your pocket.

And considering that you will be among the first to use it, it’s like being part of its history. I’ll bet by now you’re fingers are burning to type away where to find a free iPad.

It’s pretty simple, just log on to a website that provides this opportunity. Answer some simple and basic questions, meaning you don’t need to burn that midnight candle by studying. Because the questions are really surveys, at the end of it, you will know if you qualify. After wards, fill out forms, especially supplying them your name and address so that they can send the free iPad.

As I’ve said earlier, this is like the earliest November trick or treat, but more of a treat than a trick. Imagine free iPad for the grab by simply answering a survey? Now, what I call a real treat!
