Where do you find the Wonder Wheel? Likely it’s been under your nose all along and you didn’t even see it. Go to Google’s main page as if you were going to do a search.
Type in your search terms–this would be one of your keyword terms that you are researching. Let’s say that your website is about chocolate recipes. So, you would then type in the words ‘chocolate recipes’ into Google’s search box and hit “Search”.
Now, look on the left hand sidebar for a link that says “Wonder wheel”. Click that link.
What will show up on the results looks like a sun–a circle in the middle with the words that you searched for (chocolate recipes, in this case) and then lines coming out from that with phrases that are related to chocolate recipes.
In this example, these were some of the related terms:
chocolate candy recipes
chocolate truffle recipes
simple chocolate recipes
easy chocolate recipes
homemade chocolate recipes
how to make chocolate
You can then click on any of these related terms to get more detailed information. For example, clicking on “how to make chocolate” brings up another sun with lines projecting from the center that say:

how to make chocolate bars
how to make chocolate candy

It goes on and on. Notice how the Wonder Wheel is giving very detailed information about phrases related to the initial search. You start with one keyword term that you’re researching, and all of a sudden you have a dozen additional related phrases to go off of. This is extremely helpful for doing keyword research.
Here’s one more Google keyword tip: type the tilda character (it’s on your keyboard) into Google’s search box and then type your keyword directly afterwards.
The results will show web pages with words highlighted that Google considers to be semantically related to the original keyword.
For example, when I type the tilda character directly followed by the term ‘recipe’ into Google, the results include web pages with related keyword terms in bold. Some of them are ones you might not have considered to be semantically related, but Google does.
For the word “recipes”, Google has “food”, “cooking”, “recipe”, “ingredients”, as part of the results.
Interesting! This would be helpful information to anyone who had ‘chocolate recipes’ as a keyword term to know what other words Google would consider to be related. They could then integrate those words into their article. Likely those words would naturally show up in an article about “chocolate recipes” anyway, but at least you would know that they were aiding your cause in alerting Google to the subject matter of your website.

Open your list of keywords and start reviewing each one, go for the ones with more than 1000 searches per month and copy and paste in google, now we are gonna take a look in 2 numbers, first the number of pages that appears when you type in your keyword from the list, and second, the number it appears after you put that keyword in quotes (example : “Jay Kubassek”)
Now, putting the keyword between quotes will bring the exact number of websites which are optimized (SEO) for that keyword, our goal is to find a keyword with less than 14,000.
It’s going to be hard work for you (still it is for me), but once you find the winner keyword, we can start working in our site. In the real world, an effective advertisement doesn’t need to be yards long, it only needs to communicate the benefits of the product and provide a reasonable argument for its purchase. Typically, with ethical advertisements, lower cost products have shorter advertisements than higher cost products. This is to give the seller time to build the value of the product in the mind of the prospect before revealing the price. Ethical advertisements will also clearly indicate the price of the product so there are no surprises on the payment page. An ethical marketer builds credibility in the prospect’s mind through honestly presented information without mind numbing repetition.
Most of the bad advertisements appear to follow a similar template. If you do a quick scan without actually reading anything, you’ll notice a long, (often very long) advertisement that has a LOT of big, bold text, and quite a lot of red. There may be several images with screen shots, or perhaps even a video waiting for you. You’ll likely see at least one, and perhaps several graphic images with “proof” of the money the seller supposedly made with the product. You will also see several testimonials from supporters. Most of the text in the advertisement is probably a large type font that you could read from yards away from your computer screen.
These are all designed to get your attention but you can see they often go quite beyond the needs of a legitimate product. Many legitimate products use the same elements, but in a much more restrained manner.
Don’t get me wrong, there are probably some legitimate products out there that have sales pages that fall in to this pattern. Unfortunately, even an honest marketer can get trapped into poor advertising practices if he feels he has to in order to compete.
With this said, every product I’ve bought from a bad advertisement was seriously deficient. Part of the reason is that no product can live up to the claims being made. Another reason was that poor marketers just didn’t fully develop the product in the hurry to get it into the market.
With blind ads, it’s even worse, because you really have no idea what the product should be prior to purchase. I also found out that it is nearly impossible to get a refund from some of the more unethical marketers. If you feel you must respond to a bad advertisement, at least make sure the payment is handled through a service like ClickBank. At least then you have a decent chance of getting a refund if you don’t like the product
As you start reading the text, look for concrete statements about the product. Notice if the ad copy has any real information about what they are selling. If there is a series of bullets that detail what the product is not, you may find there are few, if any bullets that indicate what the product is.
As you read the copy, you’ll notice the emphasis is not on what problem they can solve for you, it is on how you will feel when you are rich and don’t have to work. Rarely is there information about the benefits of the product, only an emotional appeal.
Also, you’ll probably see some claim that the product will make you rich overnight, or some other preposterous claim. Even claiming 00 in 7 days is as silly as becoming incredibly wealthy overnight as it is just as unlikely.
