Website Research – Keyword Tools To Look At

Website Research – Keyword Tools To Look At

Whenever you are considering starting your own blog, it is important to remember that you need to have good keywords included in your blog. Keywords are words that search engines are looking for when someone performs a search. It can sometimes be a bit complicated for the search engines to figure everything out when it comes to finding the keywords and phrases. Luckily there are a few different keyword tools available to assist you.

There are many different tools available to you but you just need to find what program meets your needs the most. The first place that you may want to start looking when you first start a blog are the free keyword sites. A few of these are Keyword Density and Yooter Keyword Suggestion Tool are two different sites that are free to use. They can help you sort out all sorts of different keywords and phrases to get the most traffic on your site. Another free site is SEO Book’s Keyword List Generator. These are just a few suggestions but there are many more free services available.

Are you looking for a service that is simple and easy to use? You could try Good Keywords or Keyword Research Tool from Webmaster Toolkit. Both of these tools are very easy to use and can help you not only produce a great keyword list but also offer misspelling suggestions and help you analyze some of the other top ranked pages so that you know specifically what the search engines are looking for.

These services do require a one time fee that is paid up front before you use the services. Some other programs that require fees include The Permutator and Keywords Analyzer. These programs are like a lot like their free competitors but will go more in depth when it comes to analyzing your competitors blogs. The Dowser and Keyword Elite are a few other options that are very similar to the others. Being able to analyze the competition can be a great benefit and can definitely help you in the long run.

If you feel like none of these options are right for your blog, don’t worry, there are still many more options. Some options do have on-going fees but may help you in different ways than the other ones we have already listed above. A few of these options include Adgooroo and Keyword Discovery. They will help you find the most precise keyword searches by analyzing all of your competitors and some of them may even include seasonal searches.

So what is the huge difference between the free programs and those that require one time fees or continuous fees? To be honest, there isn’t much of a difference but it just depends on how much you need a keyword search tool. If you are planning on using it for only a few things, you may be fine using the free programs. But you will always get the most for your money if you decide to pay for a program.

What Do You Look for in a Copywriter?

What Do You Look for in a Copywriter?

Here is a Japanese answer, by Japanese ad industry veteran, Keiji Nishimura, from the Copywriter’s Bible (New Testament), in which Nishimura and other renowned copywriters pass on what they believe about their profession to young aspirants to it.

Nishimura lists 34 traits that make up the copywriter’s natural gifts

Assertiveness. Must have faith in the copy he or she writes Cockiness. Must be lazy and cheeky. Not distracted. Reluctant to give up first idea. Must be willing to do research. Digs deep into what he writes about. Mental agility. Not stuck in one perspective. Must be able to see things from different angles. Calligrapher. Presents ideas in his own handwriting. Writing shows the person. Good memory. Must remember what other people have written in order not to repeat it. Skillful word choice. A basic skill for a copywriter. A strong stomach. Mustn’t get a stomach ache after having ideas rejected two or three times. Neurotic. Neuroses make the man. Team player. Must be able to work with people with different skills. Be able to take a punch. The toughness not to be hurt by a client’s criticism. Physical strength. Needs the stamina to be able to work through the night. Easygoing character. Must be concerned with the quality of the image as well as the quality of the words. Computer skills. Nowadays, if you can’t use a personal computer, designers will hate you. Ordinary tastes. Great copywriters may look strange. But in fact they tend share ordinary people’s sensibilities. Psychological education. The ability to read people’s feelings. Hardworking. Earnest about everything. Suspicious. The ability to doubt everything. Open to flashes of insight. In the bath, on the toilet, wherever. Good at keeping things in order. Needs to know lots of stuff. Also needs to know how to put aside what is interfering. Imagination and empathy. Must be able to imagine what is bothering other people. Above all, perseverance. Sticks to it.

Reviewing this list I see only two attributes, calligraphy and knowledge of Chinese characters, that might not apply in other parts of the world. The list seems pretty comprehensive, and the copywriter it describes a pretty nice, if sometimes difficult, fellow. I wonder how people in other parts of the world respond to it? What kind of person they see?

What about you?

How You Can Nostalgic Look Back at 90s Web Design?

How You Can Nostalgic Look Back at 90s Web Design?

A nostalgic look back at 90s web design, and a warning to anyone whose website is an accidental anachronism.
Remember the days when every PC was beige, every website had a little Netscape icon on the homepage, Geocities and Tripod hosted just about every single personal homepage, and “Google” was just a funny-sounding word?
The mid-late 1990s were the playful childhood of the worldwide web, a time of great expectations for the future and pretty low standards for the present. Those were the days when doing a web search meant poring through several pages of listings rather than glancing at the first three results–but at least relatively few of those websites were unabashedly profit-driven.
Hallmarks of 1990s Web Design
Of course, when someone says that a website looks like it came from 1996, it’s no compliment. You start to imagine loud background images, and little “email me” mailboxes with letters going in and out in an endless loop. Amateurish, silly, unprofessional, conceited, and unusable are all adjectives that pretty well describe how most websites were made just ten years ago.
Why were websites so bad back then?
Knowledge. Few people knew how to build a good website back then, before authorities like Jakob Nielsen starting evangelizing their studies of web user behavior.
Difficulty. In those days, there weren’t abundant software and templates that could produce a visually pleasing, easy-to-use website in 10 minutes. Instead, you either hand-coded your site in Notepad or used FrontPage.
Giddiness. When a new toy came out, whether it was JavaScript, Java, Frames, animated Gifs, or Flash, it was simply crammed into an already overstuffed toy box of a website, regardless of whether it served any purpose.
Browsing through the Internet Archive’s Way Back Machine, it’s hard not to feel a twinge of nostalgia for a simpler time when we were all beginners at this. Still, one of the best reasons for looking at 90s website design is to avoid repeating history’s web design mistakes. This would be a useful exercise for the tragic number of today’s personal homepages and even small business websites that are accidentally retro.
Splash Pages
Sometime around 1998, websites all over the internet discovered Flash, the software that allowed for easy animation of images on a website. Suddenly you could no longer visit half the pages on the web without sitting through at least thirty seconds of a logo revolving, glinting, sliding, or bouncing across the screen.
Flash “splash pages,” as these opening animations were called, became the internet’s version of vacation pictures. Everyone loved to display Flash on their site, and everyone hated to have to sit through someone else’s Flash presentation.
Of all the thousands of splash pages made in the 1990s and the few still made today, hardly any ever communicated any useful information or provided any entertainment. They were monuments to the egos of the websites’ owners. Still, today, when so many business website owners are working so hard to wring every last bit of effectiveness out of their sites, it’s almost charming to think of a business owner actually putting ego well ahead of the profit to have been derived from all the visitors who hit the “back” button rather than sit through an animated logo.
Text Troubles
“Welcome to…” Every single website homepage in 1996 had to have the word “welcome” somewhere, often in the largest headline. After all, isn’t saying “welcome” more vital than saying what the web page is all about in the first place?
Background images. Remember all those people who had their kids’ pictures tiled in the background of every page? Remember how much fun it was trying to guess what the words were in the sections where the font color and the color of the image were the same?
Dark background, light text. My favorite was orange font on purple background, though the ubiquitous yellow white text on blue, green or red was nice, too. Of course, anyone who will make their text harder to read with a silly gimmick is just paying you the courtesy of letting you know they couldn’t possibly have written anything worth reading.
Entire paragraphs of text centered. After all, haven’t millennia of flush-left margins just made our eyes lazy?
“This Site Is Best Viewed in Netscape 4.666, 1,000×3300 resolutions.” It was always so cute when site owners actually imagined anyone but their mothers would care enough to change their browser set up to look at some random person’s website.
All-image no-text publishing. Some of the worst websites would actually do the world the service of putting all their text in image format so that no search engine would ever find them. What sacrifice!
Hyperactive Pages
TV-envy was a common psychological malady in 1990s web design. Since streaming video and even flash were still in their infancy, web designers settled for simply making the elements on their pages move like Mexican jumping beans.
Animated Gifs
In 1996, just before the dawn of Flash, animated gifs were in full swing, dancing, sliding, and scrolling their way across the retinas of web surfers trying to read the text on the page.
Scrolling Text
Just in case you were having a too easy time tuning out all the dancing graphics on the page, an ambitious mid-1990s web designer had a simple but powerful trick for giving you a headache: scrolling text. Through the magic of JavaScript, website owners could achieve the perfect combination of too fast to read comfortably and too slow to read quickly.

What to Look For in a New York SEO and Internet Marketing Company

What to Look For in a New York SEO and Internet Marketing Company

If you run a business in New York, it makes sense to hire a New York SEO and internet marketing company to boost your website’s local SEO rankings, but which one do you choose? There are literally thousands of New York SEO companies of all sizes and experience. How do you choose the New York SEO and internet marketing company that’s the right fit for your business?

The answer, of course, is to do some research. Check around with other businesses in your niche to find out who did their website optimization. Search for SEO companies in directories of local businesses and get recommendations from the owners of websites that you like. Be prepared to ask about the services offered by the SEO and website design companies you interview. A good New York SEO, marketing and promotion company will be able to tell you how they will meet each of the following categories in optimizing your website.

How will you ensure that my website is indexed by the top search engines?

The answer should include a website analysis to discover any reasons that your website isn’t ranking well in the search engines. If they start talking about submitting your site to hundreds of search engines, say a polite thank you and cross them off your list.

What kind of keyword research will you do?

Finding the right keywords can mean the difference between a little amount of inbound website traffic and a lot of inbound website traffic! In most cases, your keyword research will work best if it’s a cooperative effort between you and the SEO company. Certain keywords produce large amounts of traffic and certain keywords do not, so ensure you hire the right agency to help you with your keyword research initiatives.

Search engine optimization and content writing

Will the company provide professionally written SEO friendly content for your website? Will they rewrite your current content to optimize it for your chosen keywords?

Site maps

Will the SEO company create a site map and optimize the internal link structure to make it easy for search engine spiders to find all the pages on your website? This is usually only necessary if you have a large website with large amounts of content.

Manual search engine submission

The search engine optimization company should manually submit your website to the search engines rather than using any type of automated script to submit it. That will ensure proper indexing.

Link building campaigns

Search engine optimization is a two-part process. The internal SEO includes the above, but it’s only part of the equation. In order to be really effective, your SEO company should propose a link building campaign to bring in high quality, relevant incoming links to your company website.

In addition, the New York SEO company that you choose should include complete reports so that you can analyze the effectiveness of their work, and maintenance to keep your website at the top of the rankings once you get there.

Looking for Web Site Marketing Company? What Should You Look For?

Looking for Web Site Marketing Company? What Should You Look For?

If you are starting out looking for a search engine optimization company, then here are some tips to help steer you in the right direction. Whether you are new to web site SEO services or have dabbled a little in the field, these are a few suggestive tips you may not be familiar with.

Finding a credible SEO Company
Begin by taking a look at the company’s website. Look for testimonials, examples of their marketing customers, and most importantly, a web site marketing firm consultant that is willing to take enough time out on the phone to explain and answer any SEO questions you may have. This is one of the quickest ways actually, to find out if the SEO company you have contacted is looking out for their best interest of yours. Many SEO companies will set up an automatic selling system in which they will sell SEO packages even if they do not benefit you. For example, for SEO to be effective, the appropriate level of SEO must be chosen. For a more specific example, a business providing real estate or law services would not benefit with a basic level of SEO service, because the market is too competitive for those industries to benefit from a basic level of SEO service.

So I recommend picking up the phone and giving the company a phone call, an effective web site marketing firm consultant will take the time needed to evaluate your website, evaluate your competition, and suggest the most appropriate level of SEO services required to benefit your business.

Should an SEO company include website design?
Most often, a company does not provide both. However, it should only take you a few searches to find a company that provides BOTH – professional website design and search engine optimization services. One reason it may be difficult to find a company that provides both services is because both website design and search engine optimization are very specialized fields, both requiring a lot of time to master.

Companies that have more than a few developers can offer both – professional website design with SEO services. When you have both in one place, it is also very convenient. Keep in mind, that optimizing your website involves complete coding, and if website design work is re-performed to your website by a website developer that is unfamiliar with website search engine optimization tasks, your website optimization can be undone! So how can you qualify that a company provides both services – at a professional level you ask? Ask your SEO company what specific tasks are included in their complete SEO marketing campaign for your website. If they say that they will set up your website’s meta tags for keywords – then, run!! They are a scam.

A real search engine optimization company will provide you with a specific list of 30-40 tasks performed as well as explain them. As for professional website design, they should provide examples and testimonials of their attractive website designs.

Happy hunting for your effective website design and SEO company!

A Look at Keyword Search Optimization

A Look at Keyword Search Optimization

How they do business is changed substantially because of the Web. In fact, web promotion is probably one of the best ways to market businesses. Because of this strategy, businessmen, large or small, can now make its business known to the market, thus, increasing the likelihood of earning more. Pinpointing the exact right techniques, however, will take some brainstorming which could be a critical stage because it requires lots of time for marketers to select which tricks are, indeed, going to work and which will be a waste of time.

When they say Web promotion, it refers to plenty of kinds of promotion strategies but one of the best and is proven to be effective is keyword optimization. In this strategy, right keywowrds are used in a website’s content which will make it simpler for search engines to index it. The site will finally increase its rating and turn up at the top of the page two times a user use that keyword in searching.

Before beginning an SEO promotion campaign, one ought to already have a list of positive keywords prepared. There’s online tools that can help with this one. This works by basically keying in a positive word about a product or service that he is planning to market and the device will run it and turn in several keywords that are related. But then again, you can always brainstorm along with your group or team and probably exchange thoughts and ideas so that you can come up with relevant keywords for your web-site.

You require to understand that putting the right keywords in the content of your site is crucial. However, they ought to even be kept to a positive maximum keyword density that is for the search engines to index them. Google, Yahoo and the other search engines will scan how often keywords are being used in a page and if the frequency is high, this will be counted against the webpage and this would mean that the page or the whole site will be ranked poorly. Compared to sites not keyword-optimized, your site will be faster to index in the event you put the right keywords at a right density.

Aside from keyword optimization, there’s also other techniques used for SEO purposes such as social networking, backlinking, jogging a blog which are all aimed at building up a website’s presence through the links that the campaign leaves from one related site to another. Therefore, in the event you have more links optimized in a site, you will have a higher chance for turning up in the SERPs.

Keyword Optimization is the key part for your success Online. Learn the importance of Keyword Optimization with a step-by-step guide. Free Keyword Optimization guide. This article is intended for beginners, no advanced knowledge needed to understand this topic, so why not give it a try?

Ignoring Keyword Optimization means ending your business online and this is exactly what majority of site owners does and fails. Keyword optimization is beginning of optimization system. Plenty of entrepreneurs come up with a few keywords quickly, optimize their pages a bit and then submit them to the engines.

Wrong! Why? Because web-site, not keyword optimized finish up as “footer” in search engines rating. What nice is to have stunning web-site and nobody can find it! Some work is necessary. Spend some time researching keywords or keyword phrases related to your business.

How to find your best keywords?

Open your text editor or notepad in one window and your web-site in another. Now, read carefully your web-site landing page (First page) content and when completed, think.

- What is your page about? – What services or products are you offering?

Think about the best keyword or keyword phrase that 100% explain your offer. Write down every single keyword that comes to your mind.

Next step in Keyword Optimization is entering each of those keywords or keyword phrases in to the Google search. Look at the top right hand site to see how plenty of sites are competing for the same keyword phrase. You require to select the less competitive keyword phrase but still searched by prospects.

Web Design: a First Look

Web Design: a First Look

Web design can be very simple with the advanced web design tools to help you that are available today. I suggest starting off using Microsoft Frontpage for your first few web designs. It is without a doubt the best beginning HTML editor for web designers and developers to use. The problem with designing your first web page with it is that even a old version of the web design software is around one hundred and fifty dollars. You can however download a free thirty day trial from the Microsoft site. There is an alternative web design software that you can download for free which is very similar to the FrontPage software for designing your first website. The program is called NVU (pronounced n-view). The NVU web design software has a lot of the same features and is an open source web design program which means it is a free download. You can download the software from this link

http://www.hereiamlive.com/DL/Downloads/.

Making your first web design is easy, it is creating something well that can become difficult. You would have a hard time using just one of the aforementioned programs to design a good website. The images for the new web design would have to be altered and buttons would have to be created. Now an imaging software solution must be considered. The most obvious imaging solution for web design would be to PhotoShop; but again even on Ebay the product is sold for two or three hundred dollars. There is an open source alternative to this program as well, the Gimp Shop. This software will be more than enough for all the web design needs for the beginner and advanced web designers. The Gimp can be downloaded from the above link as well. For a more simple imaging solution you might take a look at Macromedia’s fireworks. I find it be the most effective when making buttons or overlaying text onto buttons for my web design. This software is anywhere from sixty to one hundred dollars on Ebay.

Now that you have the tools to start your new web design it’s time to learn how they work. The learning curve on the products I have suggested are the best out there, but that does not mean you will be able to sit down without any training and bust out a quality web design in a day. You will need some help. I suggest you visit our Hereiamlive Web Design Help Forum http://www.hereiamlive.com/forum/index.php

The Hereiamlive Web Design Help Forum has many articles on web design and the development of websites. The site hosts a variety of free training videos, and a questions and answers section where you can have your web design questions answered by a professional for free.

Your are now armed with the tools and knowledge to create a professional web design. Your main challenge is to create a good web design is learning the more complex workings of your imaging software. After you master the image layering and some of the available specials effects your web designs will look vastly improved. Once you accomplish making a few professional web designs I would recommend learning Macromedia Flash to spice up your websites. Remember when using Flash you do not want to use too much as the search engines have a hard time picking up the Flash code. You always want to have a search engine friendly web design so sometimes less is more.

Well, hope this article helps with your web design needs.

Good Luck, and may all your first web design be a great one!

In-depth Look at the Nokia N96 Plus Why Have O2 Decided not to Sell It?

In-depth Look at the Nokia N96 Plus Why Have O2 Decided not to Sell It?

It’s finally available to buy, but is the Nokia N96 actually any good? Is it one of the best mobile phones of 2008? And if it is, why have O2 decided not to sell it? Read on to find out!

Nokia – the reign of the Nseries mobile phones

If we’re talking proper top-end mobile phones, then one name in particular will strike a chord across the whole world: Nseries. It’s a name that’s synonymous with the best of the best from Finnish manufacturer, Nokia. Basically, when you see a mobile phone from Nokia that’s got a big ‘N’ in its name, you can be sure you’re getting a powerful, feature-packed, multimedia-friendly handset. From way back in their history, starting with the N70, N90 and N91, Nokia Nseries mobile phones have been the flagships, the trendsetters. There’s a word in the world of technology, and in particular the world of mobile phones, that suits the Nseries down to the ground: convergence. The coming together of lots of different experiences in one gorgeous device. THAT is what Nokia Nseries mobile phones have always embodied, and why people are seemingly obsessed with them.

Well, the Nseries has got a new flagship handset, and it’s fair to say it’s one of the most anticipated mobile phones of 2008: the Nokia N96.

Nokia N96 – flying the flag

The question that’s been on everybody’s lips (apart from ‘When can I get one, tell me, please, WHEN?’) is… is the Nokia N96 really as good as it’s made out to be? Well, I can categorically say that it’s really rather excellent. The Nokia N96 is genuinely beautiful, dumping the hard edges and sharp design of its predecessor, the Nokia N95, to use more flowing curves and glossy fascias, making it one of the most attractive mobile phones around. Ok, so it looks like its OTHER predecessor, the Nokia N81, but that isn’t a bad thing, believe me.

Nestled inside that curvy, sexy body, you’ll find the Nokia N96’s arsenal of features, designed to put other mobile phones to shame. So, no the Nokia N96, you get a 5 megapixel (complete with Carl Zeiss lenses, and bags of extra features like autofocus and flash), GPS, super-fast HSDPA internet and most importantly, a STUNNING multimedia player (which includes DVB-H mobile TV and streaming video). Good job you get 16Gb of memory in the Nokia N96, because you WILL be filling it with loads of cool stuff. Oh, and let’s not forget that the Nokia N96 is one of the few mobile phones on the market that you can use BBC iPlayer with. That’s just phenomenal.

Basically, as I’m sure you’ve gathered, I really rather like the Nokia N96 (and that’s saying a lot, coming from me, since I’m a Sony Ericsson lover, usually). It’s gloriously relieves itself all over other mobile phones, and so, yes, it is as good as people have been expecting.

That being the case, then, how come O2 have decided not to sell it?

O2 and Nokia go together like… well, like two things that don’t go together at all

It’s an odd fact, really, until you think about it: why would O2 say no to the N96? Nokia have crafted a wonder of a phone here, and it’s going to sell by the bucketload. Surely O2 would want a piece of that pie? Well, I can answer that question with one word.

iPhone.

You see, O2 have paid huge amounts of cash to be the exclusive network in the UK for the iPhone. As in bags and bags of cash. And since the iPhone 3G is subsidised heavily by the network, that’s used up a huge chunk of O2’s subsidy budget for the year, the money they use to make mobile phones cheap, or free. Since they’ve splurged it all on the iPhone, there’s not masses left to subsidise the Nokia N96, another expensive mobile phone that will need lots of subsidies to even think of it being free. That’s bad news for the Nokia, since it means that they’d only be able to offer it free on really high tariffs, and so, it wouldn’t be as attractive to customers. So, because of the iPhone, something I still say is a niche product, other, better mobile phones aren’t getting a look in. That’s a real shame, because by not stocking the N96, I reckon O2 are onto a loser..
