Blackberry Storm – Does It Really Kick Up A Storm?
The sleek black BlackBerry Storm with its very impressive display and colors has been quite adequately expected. It was touted as one of the most happening BlackBerry devices to come out in recent times, and it has fulfilled its promise in some parts. Let us see where the BlackBerry Storm rises above the ordinary and where it falls short.
Connectivity
This is certainly one of its strongest features. The phone generally uses a CDMA dual band of 800/1900 MHz, but switches over to the GSM Quad Band of 850/900/1800/1900 MHz when it is on global roaming. There are typical geographical networks too, such as the UMTS European and the Asian 3G, both of an awesome 2100 MHz. With its versatile connectivity, it is certain that the phone does not become useless anywhere.
Size and Dimensions
With its dimensions of 4.4 x 2.5 x 0.5 inches, the BlackBerry Storm falls into the class of the mid sized smartphones from BlackBerry. Since its thickness is just about half an inch, it is quite conveniently portable. However, the phone is decidedly heavy. At 5.5 oz, it is currently among the heaviest BlackBerry phones. You must see if you are happy with its weight, though the size itself should be no problem.
Camera
One of the reasons for the anticipation of the BlackBerry Storm was the promise of a good camera. However, the phone under-delivers here; the camera is of an adequate 3.2 MP resolution which is not bad, but there have been better resolutions before. It has good video features though (one point where it scores over the iPhone) and has features like flash and autofocus.
Display
The screen resolution is 360 x 480 pixels and at 3.2 diagonal inches, it is one of the best cameras for its visibility and workspace. The screen is really smart; it is a TFT screen with 65,536 colors and a light sensor which allows good visibility even in sunlight. It is also a touchscreen which adds greatly to its convenience of usage.
Memory
Memory is ample, but it depends on what kind of requirements you will have. It has a 1 GB intrinsic memory, which is quite adequate for storing contacts and several data files and folders, but if you are looking for a larger memory, you do have a memory slot where you can attach an additional device. This memory slot is microSD or microSDHC; you can choose from among them.
Other Specifications
BlackBerry Storm runs on the awesome BlackBerry OS 4.7. It has a phone memory of 128 MB RAM and 192 MB ROM, making it a very efficient phone. It runs various sorts of multimedia applications, so converters will not be extremely necessary if you are transferring files from your PC to the smartphone. It uses an HTML browser and has stereo Bluetooth 2.0 connectivity with the provision of a microUSB port.
There are several useful features too. There is a phone book with several features, and there are various other important applications such as a calendar, a to-do reminder, a notes application, a calculator and a calendar.
Verdict
The BlackBerry Storm is a purchase you won’t regret, despite its weight being on the heavier side. On all other counts, the phone is a superlative smartphone, for personal as well as for business use.

For those of us not in the retail industry or holiday type businesses, December can be a slow month. Most people go into the holiday mode right after Thanksgiving. This means less new projects, decisions, and ongoing business takes a backseat to holiday cheer.
So if you fit into this category of non-holiday business, it’s an excellent time to start planning and executing some new website marketing efforts for 2010. There are several areas to work on but first you should take a look at the last year to see where you might need the most activity. Doing a quick analysis of what worked, what didn’t work, and what might be the best ideas for finding new clients and business for the new year.
If you determine that you have some glaring problems, schedule a review and corrective action for those first. Once you’ve dealt with any problems, an area that can always use some attention is your website content. No matter how many web pages you have now, there is always more information that you can provide to attract more visitors. More content that directly relates to your chosen subject matter can help you expand your presence and increase new visitors.
There are a couple of good ways to determine the best content or subject matter for your new web pages. One way is review some of your competitor’s websites and see what keywords they use to attract visitors. How do you find the best competitors to review? Do a search on your chosen keywords in your favorite search engine and review each website at the first 10 or 12 listings. Actually, it would be a good idea to look at all three major search engine results (Google, Yahoo, and Bing).
Another good way to find good subject matter is to expand on your current keywords with common modifiers that may apply. A good example is if you sold sprinkler systems and used that term as a keyword you could add yard sprinkler systems, rural sprinkler systems, automatic sprinkler systems, automated sprinkler systems and so forth. There are several good keyword tools both free and commercial that can help you find new variations and give some idea on the number of searches.
And the content? Well the easiest way is to start creating relevant content to your new keywords, like how to winterize your automatic sprinkler system or how to extend your lawn sprinkler system to your garden. This adds value to the visitor and also can help establish your website as an expert in related subject matter. That’s something that the visitors and the search engines love.
So now that you have new content based on new keywords you want to expose this new information to interested readers and the search engines too. You can do that by writing a few articles about different aspects of sprinkler systems and put the link to your website content in the article or resource box. A resource box is simply a paragraph at the end of each article that references links to more information of similar interest. The best way to present the link is using descriptive text rather than just the website URL.
So now we have all the parts to the puzzle. We created a plan of action based on our research into expanding our subject matter and content. We also have a method of promoting this new content to interested readers and the search engines. Now we need to figure out a good schedule of adding the content and publishing the articles that promote the content over the first few weeks or months of the new year.
Even if you don’t have the extra time at the end of the year, this is a process that should be a top priority if you want to find new business and expand the reach of your website. You can never have too much good content that is of value to your potential target group. And expanding that content on a regular basis is paramount to expanding your business generated from your website.

Let me gently tuck an image into your mind. At a sunny beach in Cali, the seagulls all the sudden start to tweak out of their minds as if on a massive caffeine rush, turning the turbulent ocean breeze and visible sun rays into a Red Bull Air Race obstacle course.
The spectacle continues on for about 10 minutes, when it is soon dramatically punctuated by the successive explosions of every maverick bird. Yes, explosions. Just up the beach, you notice two kids that witnessed the spectacle. Their jaws are dropped far enough to be a part of a cliché mathematical “could reach to the moon” statistic. You then notice that each of them is holding a black, yellow, and red container titled, “Bull Tonik: Strong Energy Drink Effervescent Tabs.”
Taste
The last thing I expected from this product was a taste enhancement to whatever beverage I chose to nuke. The first thing I expected was degradation in the taste of my beverage. Considering these extremes, the taste of these tabs is surprisingly acceptable, somewhat to my surprise in fact. In all my experimentation with these tabs, never did they once destroy a drink. With each tab packing 80mg of caffeine (bitter by nature), it’s actually an impressive feat to pull this off. They don’t improve drink taste, either. Rather, the tabs add a mild Red Bull taste that plays nicely with just about anything. This all goes out the window, of course, if you add more than the recommended serving to any drink.
Ingredients
Each bottle cap-sized tab packs in an impressive amount of ingredients. We’re talking 80mg of caffeine, 500mg of Vitamin C, nearly a gram of B vitamins, and 500mg of Taurine.
Energy
The recommended serving is 2 tabs per 200ml drink if you want what they call, “maximum energy.” Maximum energy you say? Hah. I challenged that statement by putting 4 tabs into a half-drank medium fountain drink. Let me assure you, there are other ways to achieve “maximum energy.” Stupidity aside, 2 tabs do a respectable job at transforming any mortal drink into a standard energy drink. With each container packing 20 tabs, though, you get to be the boss.
Verdict
Did you ever envy that drug junky in the movies that pulls out a small container of white powder in a public setting to get his fix? This is how I feel when I pull out the container at a restaurant and drop some tabs into my drink. Frankly, Bull Tonik energy tabs do a respectable job and I would recommend them for anyone in need of such a niche product. Side note: be careful what you put them in! Carbonation can accelerate the effervescence and make a mess. Think Mentos and Coke, but less extreme. If this thought means nothing to you, you’re an internet hermit and you need to start Googling the topic now.
