The Future of Communications: are You in or are You Out?

The Future of Communications: are You in or are You Out?

Recently I’ve been spending time on Twitter, and Plurk as I continue to explore social media. As I invite friends and colleagues to join me using these tools, I often have to defend the time I’m spending—some would argue wasting—at these sites.

Here’s why I do it: tools like Twitter and Plurk represent the future of communications.

I’m not arguing that anyone will be using or even talking about Twitter or Plurk a few years from now. But they represent a newmanner of communication that will become more relevant, more important as people join in and feed this emerging network of social media communications.

There are a number of reasons why this is happening.

Short Attention Spans. One catalyst is that we live in a culture where ADD is now considered a coping mechanism for dealing with the constant barrage of information we face.

This is characterized by political sound bites, lead news stories that clock in at ninety seconds, and commercials optimized for TiVo fast-forwarding. Social media communications are likewise short and chaotic; threads/messages are started and dropped with little warning, and are often limited to 140 characters or less. That means the previous sentence is 22 characters too long for either a Tweet or a Plurk.

A New Definition of Privacy. Right or wrong, in a post 9/11 world we’ve sacrificed many personal rights for the hope of increased security. Cameras at intersections, Real ID cards, and even Fast Lanetransponders that allow us to avoid stopping at toll booths all chip away at our ability to stay under the radar. We’re used to being watched. Social media communications are by definition social, and regularly public.

A Desire for Fame and Stature. As Napoleon Bonaparte said, “I have made the most wonderful discovery, I have discovered men will risk their lives, even die, for ribbons!” Fame and stature can be quickly—and less dangerously—achieved in our YouTube/Reality TV/MySpace world.

All successful social networks have a built-in reward systemthat reflects your standing in the community. For Twitter, it’s your number of followers; LinkedIn counts your connections; Plurk’s karma point system gives you new icons—ribbons, if you will—for postingmore often and invitingnew people to Plurk.

There are other factors as well that are changing the way we communicate.

The desire to be connected at all times, whether through a computer or a mobile device, or something else in the future.
The high cost of travel that will cut down on face-to-face meetings.
The increased affordability, quality and functionality of digital communication tools.

I don’t see these trends changing drastically in the next few years. We’ll continue to be wired, gas prices will continue to rise and we’ll continue to want to communicate and network with the other humans on our planet.

Social media represents a major shift in the way we communicate with each other. Not everyone will adapt, but the younger generation is already comfortable with these tools. While there will always be the telephone and email for us “old folks,” a lot of important conversations will be going on exclusively in the social media arena.

So I ask you again: The future of communications: are you in, or are you out?

Internet Marketing PPT: How to Start your Own Advertising Internet Marketing Online Businesses for Success in the Future!

Internet Marketing PPT: How to Start your Own Advertising Internet Marketing Online Businesses for Success in the Future!

There is a right formula when you go about creating online advertising internet marketing online businesses and this article will look at what you need to do to make sure that creating online advertising internet marketing online businesses is a success for you.

The first thing that you must remember when creating online advertising internet marketing online businesses is that you must develop a formula.  If you want to different websites, you will want them to be run using similar systems or web hosts so that the work you do on one to improve overall performance could translate to similar improvements on other websites. This will help you create efficiencies and save time in the process.   The key is to make sure that you have online advertising internet marketing online business systems in place as well as a certain routine that you go around doing things.  This may seem vague but it comes down to two things: how efficient you are with your time and how much time you have to spend on each venture.  Having software such as Outlook to manage your time will be very beneficial towards you.

My experiences show that internet marketing entrepreneurs, who are very well in time management for their advertising internet marketing online business, have better opportunities to success than people who don’t realize on their time. Especially in the internet marketing world; there are a ton of strategies and opportunities to make money online from advertising internet marketing online business, time management is one of the most significant factor for highly successful.

You’ll discover my investigation on how to run your advertising internet marketing online business smoothly with automation tools below. I highly recommend you to consider those tools and test them effectively by yourself.

There are many different ways to help keep your advertising internet marketing online business running smoothly for within this paragraph; we will look at some software that can help you manage your advertising in a very organized and smooth manner.  A good piece of automation tools that you can use are called Niche Portal Builder and HyperVRE. The Niche Portal Builder software can be used to help you develop web pages as well to newsletters and what you must do is simply give the software your domain name, keywords you want to use, what your e-mail is, your Adsense ID, and a few other details.  Meanwhile, HyperVRE software can be used for building quality websites with embedded articles, AdSense ads, RSS feeds and links. Also, it allows you to measure the density of keywords in each article for optimization.

Another piece of software that you can use is called Blog Solution. This software can help you build blogs which is important if you have many different blogging websites that you post to each day.  By doing this they can post automatically to these blogs soon afterward without having to sign in to each account.  You are even able to change the language because of their automatic language translation.

These are three examples of different pieces of software that can help you out.  Many successful Internet developers are able to maintain several websites by using software to create efficiencies between their different websites.

Hopefully this article on creating online advertising internet marketing online businesses will help you when developing several quality websites.  There are many different types of online advertising internet marketing online businesses but many of them come down to the same sort of broad categories: selling on eBay, retail websites, services websites, and business-to-business websites.  You can work within different categories easily but make sure to take what you learn from each different category and apply its in your other ventures.

Final thought, creating online advertising internet marketing online businesses requires time and dedication on your part but you must make sure that the time you are spending is well invested. When you are dealing with multiple advertising internet marketing online businesses, you must be as efficient as possible to make sure that each advertising internet marketing online business is well-tended. If you spend a large amount of your time on one venture and that doesn’t pay off as planned, this can hurt the other ventures due to neglect and the lesser amount of time you are spending on them.#1 best internet marketing course – learn how to build highly profitable business home internet marketing promotion from scratch and discover great tips on internet marketing of how to make money over ,000 in a month! Outsourcing will become much more feasible for most organizations. Since the company maintains control over the source documents as well as the end data, it becomes less risky to outsource. The ties to any one outsourcer are loosened. So a company can employ multiple companies or easily switch providers if the service or cost is unsatisfactory.

Adsense And Ad Blindness: The Future Of Internet Advertising

Adsense And Ad Blindness: The Future Of Internet Advertising

In this article, I am going to take a look at AdSense and ad  blindness and what this means for the future of Internet Advertising  and, in particular, Google AdSense.

I have read articles ad nauseam about the best place to put Google AdSense ads.  In reality, there is no one exact answer because  every website looks different.  The best way to find out what works best  for you is to take a look at the Google AdSense Heat Map (which is  Google telling you where to place ads…and they wouldn’t like because  they have skin in the game too), test out ad placements on your  particular site, and track their performance using Google AdSense  Channels.  This will tell you how ads perform very quickly for your  particular situation.

However, this article is not about the best place to put ads so  that people will click on them.  This article asks the question:  In  the future, will people click on AdSense Ads at all?

I have thought about this for awhile.  Obviously, if you base much of your earnings on Internet Advertising, the future of Internet  Advertising is of great importance.

Over time, since the advent of Internet Advertising began to take  hold in the mid 90’s, many people learned to differentiate between the  actual content of a page and the content that was advertising.  Most of  these people would simply ignore the ads and focus on the content.  This  behavioral pattern became known as ad blindness.

Obviously, ad blindness effects everybody who is in the business of making  money online through Internet advertising.

Another fact is this:  Computer savvy users are more ad-blind than  non computer savvy users.

This fact is not a mystery to anybody.  However, let’s look at the  logical leap of this statement as it relates to the future of Internet  advertising.

The older non computer savvy users are dwindling in numbers.  We will  soon reach an era that is 100% full of computer savvy users.  Thus, who  will be left to click on AdSense Ads or Internet Ads in general.

In an article that I was reading called What is Google,  the author points out a perfect example of this as he questions the  actual future of Google.

The author asked his mom and his sister to each view a webpage that  he had created.  He noticed that his mom–the non computer savvy  user–clicked on lots of ads.  However, the sister–the computer savvy  user–did not click on any ads.

Does this situation spell the end of AdSense ads and Internet  advertising as we know it?

It’s not an unreasonable question to ask.

However, advertisers continue to “up their game”.  How do I know?   Well, this morning as I was updating my make money with AdSense website,  I saw an ad for an MTV toolbar that can be installed in your browser  and I wanted to click it.  I really wanted to click it!  But obviously, I  couldn’t because it was my website.

So, as someone who is computer savvy and normally ad blind, I still  find myself tempted to click on well-presented ads from these Internet  advertisers who have upped their game.

Do you?

Open Video, Firefox, HTML 5 and The Future of Everything

Open Video, Firefox, HTML 5 and The Future of Everything

For years the options for playing a video or audio in a Web page (well, the decent options) were limited: download a plug-in for Adobe Flash or Apple QuickTime, or don’t watch/listen at all.  Use tools provided by a couple of corporate giants or don’t play.  Want to walk a different path than one laid out by these giants of industry?  Sorry,  the giants know what’s best for you … or at least that’s what they say.

Now,  finally,  in an time when half the silly links your friends are sending you are to gems such as videos of guys getting hit in the groin,  a new option is emerging.

To be fair, there are a couple of other alternatives.  RealPlayer was in the mix for a while,  but was widely known for being an obnoxious piece of software that nobody really wanted on their computer,  and,  although it’s still around, it’s fallen from favor and is far from the top of the online video player plug-in list.  More recently,  one of the software world’s great titans,  Microsoft,  has gotten a bit of traction promoting its Silverlight technology, which was built as a head-on competitor to Adobe’s Flash.

Notice a common theme?  If you said,  “Each one of these options is being offered by an entity with revenues that rival the GDPs of most small island nations” , then we’re on the same page.  If you also wondered if their motives are altruistic or born of self-interest, then not only are we on the same page, we’re on the same paragraph.  Luckily, we don’t even have to feel funny about our cynical musings,  because we’re in good company … quite a few distinguished members of the open source community,  savior of all that is good on the Internet,  have been thinking along the same lines.

If you’re a Firefox user and you’ve recently upgraded your browser, you may have noticed a note on the “what’s new” page stating that your sexy, newly updated browser supports “open video formats.”  This is code for “now people can build web pages for you that contain video,  require no plugins,  don’t require the web page creator to pay for special software to encode the video, and can be put up with way less effort than the proprietary stuff.”

All this bodes well not only for our penchant for guy-getting-kicked-in-the-groin videos, and for Web innovation in general.  Bold claims?  Here are some points you should know about “how”, “why” and “who” that,  I hope, will convince you:

Open Source Innovation:  The video format being supported when most people talk about “open video” goes by the curious name of Ogg. I know,  it sounds like what a couple of nice cave people might name their first child,  but the technology is quite the opposite of pre-historic.  The video and audio “layers” that can tag along with the Ogg file format (called Theora and Vorbis,  respectively … props to the folks naming this stuff!) are,  along with Ogg itself,  are all completely open.  Patent-free,  royalty free,  and open to anybody who wants to see or even contribute to the guts under the hood.  Once adopted by many contributors,  as Ogg has been,  this sort of openness leads to rapid innovation.  Case in point: Ogg used to be slower/bigger than the proprietary formats that dominated the online video world,  but now, thanks to developer contributions,  it’s at least as fast/small as the closed formats,  if not a tad better in both areas.

Introduction

Socio-demographic changes and new consumer trends are combining to create new convenience trends across Europe, and many retailers are already on the path of developing their store formats to capitalise on a growing demand for convenience. In response to varying consumer demands retailers are trialing new concepts tailored to specific convenience needs, creating a broader range of c-stores.

Highlights

European retailers are rapidly growing their convenience store bases as smaller formats outperform ailing hypermarkets. Many smaller formats have been adapted to suit the different convenience trends such as increased demand for food on the go and food service options.

Despite increased competition in the convenience market, established multiples continue to stay ahead of the game introducing new concepts and formats to differentiate their stores and sustain footfall. New product ranges, revamped private label offers and extra services and facilities are all helping propel the convenience concept further.

*Develop strategies that respond to the latest consumer eating behaviours and preferences across areas such as organics produce and private label.

Nokia Mobile Phones for the Future

Nokia Mobile Phones for the Future

Nokia is one of the most popular mobile phones throughout the world. With many different Nokia mobile phones, there is little doubt that a user can find something that he wants. Whether you are looking for a camera phone or just a basic mobile phone, Nokia has the phone that you need. Unlike many of the manufacturers, Nokia still offers a basic phone for those who are not interested in paying extra for things they don’t need and won’t use.

Anyone who has had experience with Nokia mobile phones can tell you that most of them are very simple to use even for someone who is buying his or her first mobile phone. The menus are easy to use and the phones are of reasonable quality. Some of the Nokia mobile phones do have some features that take time to undo such as turning on automatic editing for text messaging—this prevents the user from typing in a text message and can be quite frustrating until you learn how to turn it off.

One thing on which Nokia has improved is the ability of the mobile phones to go into vibrate mode. Some of the earlier Nokia mobile phones had no vibrate option, so if you didn’t want it to ring, the silent option was the only thing you could do. The problem there is you had no way of knowing if someone was trying to call, and if it was an urgent call, it could cause some problems. Nokia has now eliminated that inferior mode and even opened up more options such as Outdoor and Meeting settings in addition to vibrate, vibrate and ring, and ring only.

Nokia mobile phones are available from everyone mobile phone provider though the selection may vary. Some Nokia mobile phones are manufactured for specific providers, so you may not always find the exact model you want from your provider. This is not just something with Nokia but other manufacturers as well. You can try buying an unlocked phone to get the exact one you want, but some of the features may not be available through your provider.

Nokia mobile phones come in a variety of models including flip phone, camera phone, music phone and basic phones that do little more than allow you to talk, receive voice messages, record conversations and send and receive text messages. Choosing the right Nokia phone to suit your lifestyle is an easy process with so many from which to choose. Before you purchase any of the Nokia mobile phones that are available in the UK it’s important for you to know the functionality of each and whether it will provide the features you want. The basic model, for example, doesn’t have a camera or picture messaging capabilities to allow you to receive pictures. Since different models have different features and capabilities, you need to make sure you know the functionality of the Nokia phone you choose before you leave the mobile phone store.
