Human Nature Is Hard to Fight

Apple has claimed freedom from porn its business strategy and social responsibility. Trying to take up the parents’ duties the company decided that protecting children from pornography is something like its moral obligation. The initiative is quite thoughtful and noble especially if one recollects thousands of thoughtless parents who consider a TV-set or a computer the best baby-sitter and teacher. But in reality the proclaimed freedom has led to a range of quite ridiculous moves that highlight lack of the policy consistency. But those drawbacks did not in the least humble Apple to use them as a pretext to ban Flash from its devices.

According to the pious statement made by Apple’s CEO Steve Jobs Flash is one of the primary tools porno content is distributed in the web environment with. It is quite a dirty argument trying to hurt not only the platform as a pornography supporter but its developer Adobe company as a pornography promoter, but à la guerre, comme à la guerre. Instead of heretic Flash, Apple is supporting and promoting a relatively new standard of web page indexing – HTML 5, which according to Apple management’s view has just fabulous prospects and opens new opportunities.

But porno companies did not want to stay in the niche Apple has reserved for them. Neither are they inclined to lag behind the time. Recently one of the biggest companies Digital Playground which provides adult film content has claimed about its intention to follow Apple’s roadmap and has made a huge leap to HTML 5. The company was not going to hide the premium reason for such a shift – a pool (quite a large one) of iPhone and iPad users eager to indulge in “dirty” time spending. The company’s CEO seems to share all the emotional epithets Steve Jobs earlier used, claiming that Flash brings everything to a crawl and is crucial for the battery life.

Though mobile users are offered the possibility to indulge into a pleasurable activity just now, desktop users will be shifted to a new platform when all the browsers are able to catch up with the latest technology.

The company idea of luring iPhone and iPad users is quite brilliant. Switching to HTML 5 it will not only provide them with playful content but also give  iPad developers several bright ideas as how to use new possibilities. So Apple has to think of some other noble crusade, may be helping Foxconn workers will be a good start.

The Fight for Freedom – Unlocking Iphones

The Fight for Freedom – Unlocking Iphones

When 2G iPhones were released, fans immediately fell in love with the design and features of the phone. The designs are sleek, so it’s easy to fall in love with the iPhone. Apple always have a throng of loyal fans, waiting to lap up any new product that they release. The business developers at Apple know this. And they were confident that the iPhone would win the hearts of the consumers.

Well, they guessed correctly. Fans were waiting eagerly for the release of the iPhone, and when it was finally released, people were rushing to part with several hundred dollars for a set of iPhone.

However, many quickly realized that they have to overcome one challenge. You see, Apple had an exclusive contract with AT&T that allows only AT&T customers to use the iPhone. In other words, if you are not a customer of AT&T, the iPhone would be of no use to you. This is programmed into the iPhone, so you can’t use it to connect with any other carrier.

Everyone may be a big fan of the iPhone, but unfortunately, not everyone is a customer of AT&T. And some are so loyal to their carrier that they are reluctant to make a change. Others may have existing contracts that have not yet expired. To these people, it seems like the end of the world – no iPhone because of the exclusive contract.

Some fans were enraged over this issue. They argued that since they bought the iPhone, they therefore own the hardware and should be allowed to configure their own iPhones. What they are really saying is that they want to be able to use their iPhone freely with any carrier, and in all parts of the world. It’s similar like buying your own personal computer and wanting to use it any way you like.

To add oil to fire, the restriction prevents iPhone users from installing third party applications. There are many third party iPhone applications available for download on the Internet. And fans want to lift the restriction so that these applications can work seamlessly with their mobile gadget.

Within weeks, a teenager released a video on YouTube, showing everyone that there is a way to unlock the iPhone. However, the process was cumbersome, and requires the owner to disassemble the iPhone. But the video sparked a lot of interest in the iPhone community, and showed everyone that it is in fact, possible to unlock the iPhone.

Shortly afterwards, developers came up with a cleaner solution – using special software to unlock the 2G iPhone.

When the 3G iPhone was released, many people were expecting a similar type of unlocking solution. However, everyone was surprised when someone released yet another video, showing that the 3G iPhone can be unlocked. But this time round, it’s through the use of hardware.

A small simcard is attached that it is connected to the correct carrier when it is actually not.

The fight for freedom in the iPhone community is an ongoing one. It shows an underlying desire by the fans to use the iPhone as they deem fit. Will they win this fight? Your guess is as good as mine.

Android FroYo vs iPhone OS4.0 : Fight!

Android FroYo vs iPhone OS4.0 : Fight!

The iPhone and Android battle has kicked into high gear, when Android 2.2 ask Froyo was released. Apple’s newest OS, iPhone OS 4.0, has been announced in April and Won plaudits for its new features, such as multitasking and folders. While, Android users are quick to show that many of the features now available on Apple’s device have been available on Android phones for a while now. Here is presented a roundup of the strengths and weaknesses of the newest versions of Android and iPhone OS.

Multitasking

The main benefit of Android users have lorded over the iPhone has been Android’s ability to multitask. Android has had this ability since Cupcake and Android fans have been quick to mention this as one of the main reasons that they bought the phone.

Apps, Apps, Apps

Apple’s success with the iPhone has largely been due to the pull of Apple’s App Store. The introduction of Android Market though has changed the App scene on mobile devices. For the first time, Apple’s App ecosystem actually has a legitimate competitor. As of the beginning of the month, an estimated 60,000 apps are available in the Android Market.

The Hardware behind the Software

Android phones come in all sorts of different flavors. Some are touch screen only, Some have full keyboards, some chug along with a 528 MHz processor while others rip along with 1GHz Snapdragon; some have low-resolution resistive touch-screens, while others have high resolution screens with multi-touch.

Music, Movies and Photos

The iTunes store has sold well over ten billion tracks. Video is a similar story. The breadth of content out there for iPhone’s closed ecosystem dwarfs anything else. In fact, when iPhone OS4.0 releases, it will likely bring even more content to the iPhone in the form of Netflix.

Google Staying out of FCC Broadband Fight (But They’re on the FCC’s Side)

Earlier this month, the FCC lost a major battle when the US Court of Appeals decided they didn’t have the authority to regulate broadband. While the FCC can continue to appeal that decision, they’re also striving to get the definition of their authority expanded to explicitly include broadband.

And Google has no comment. On the definition issue, anyway. They’re all ready to pipe up on the central issue of the Comcast/FCC case—Net Neutrality. And they’re ready to speak up in the form of comments made to the FCC (i.e. not an amicus brief to a court):

We continue to believe that the FCC has ample legal authority to adopt broadband openness rules. In our initial comments, we explained that we agreed with the FCC that Title I of the Act appears to provide such a legal foundation for its proposed rules, and indeed for the FCC’s just-launched National Broadband Plan.

*cough*cough*suck*up*cough*

With the FCC trying to defend Net Neutrality, it’s little wonder Google wants them to win. In a non-neutral net, it’s possible that Google would face high fees from all ISPs to allow users to access the most popular site on the Internet. (Of course, conversely, ISPs might charge the users directly for accessing popular sites, or even just sites that don’t pay the ISP’s access fees. And remember that you can’t tax businesses—if Google has to pay fees to ISPs, do you really think they’re just going to eat those fees, or will they-of-the-thousand-free-products find a way to pass that cost along to users?)

Meanwhile, it’s also little wonder Google’s looking for any common ground they can find with the federal government as the search giant faces ever-increasing scrutiny of its actions from bodies including the FCC and the DOJ.

What do you think? Is Google just sucking up? Will their comments help the FCC’s case—or Google’s case with other regulatory agencies?

Windows Phone 7 Vs Nexus Vs Iphone. Phone’s Dog Fight

The Fight Begins between 3 under Dogs, Google’s Nexus, Apple’s iPhone and Windows Phone 7.

Will Windows Phone 7 win/beat Apple iPhone and Google Nexus? It is heard that microsoft has totally changed the look, feel, touch and software in Windows Phone 7 Series, a weird name chosen by Microsoft. Let me discuss some points here. Comment below if u agree or disagree or even if you are neutral.

Which one is better? Who will win the battle? What is the future?

My research and thoughts on 3 phones so far. I am talking about the best phones we have including the soon being released windows phone 7.

1. Apple has the largest App store where iPhone users can find whatever they want. Google is catching up with apps and it is doing pretty good. Not to mention the Google Navigator on Android 2.0 and a whole bunch of never seen amazing apps like the Google “Goggles” and many more. And by the way, all the Google maps used in iPhone’s GPS and maps is actually Google’s own production. The only thing Google’s Nexus is missing is the games. And hopefully, Google knows how to do it. We yet, don’t know much about Windows Phone 7. Heard, they call it hubs and are in-built. We don’t want Microsoft to have us pay for each and every apps they make. For some years, Microsoft will definitely loose in application development.

So, currently, Apple wins in the case of Apps and Games currently available.

Get Windows Phone 7 Apps and Games at http://www.WindowsMobile7.info

2. Apple’s 3GS has no flash player. Stupid Apple doesn’t know how to do it when it really knows how to make the iPhone better for web surfing. And again, web surfing without flash is a looser. Google does it very well. Windows phone 7 will surely have it. And, if you have flash, you don’t even need a long collection of games since you can easily play flash games on big flash game sites like “MiniClips.com” and so…

It’s clear that Web integration and surfing is better in Google’s Nexus. Google owns the most useful and powerful search engine and knows how to make the surfing experience better.

So, Google Nexus wins in this case.

3. Ok, now lets go to Customization. We don’t want a dummy phone that displays the same screen every time we unlock our phone. I guess, Steve Jobs and Apple is working on that. Go on Steve and think about it. Google’s Nexus interface and customization feature is so perfect. Customization is freedom. In Nexus, i can have a BIG clock on the home screen or a BIG weather forecast or even my face-book widget. I can have small icons to fit many widgets or I can use 7 home screens where i can place my most used widgets. Google does it so perfectly. Apple iPhone looks dummy. No customization. And it looks so pale.

Windows Phone 7 screen-shots look impressive. Probably windows phone 7 will have the best interface and customization feature. We have to wait until it gets released.

So, Google Nexus wins again.

4. What about Multi-Tasking? What if Apple comes up with new iphone with in-built flash player and customization feature in its next version? Do i need to stay in line for hours in front of the Apple show room to buy it? How much do I need to pay again? Do i need to pay couple of hundred bucks every six months when Apple adds a new feature and calls it 4GS and then 5GS and so on????

Well, Google knows consumers can’t afford to buy a new phone for every added features. We can download the latest android OS and update or phone. So, if I have a HTC hero with Google 1.5 then I can update it with android 2.0 when it is published. When i update it (and its free), i will have a new phone. I can covert my old HTC Hero into Nexus. Windows Phone 7 is also flexible in this case as we have seen in the past with its Windows Mobile versions.

So, again Google wins.

So, overall Google Nexus is the future for now. It already has flash, 5 MP camera, multitasking, customization and all the maps and perfect navigation. Google Android also has a huge market place for apps and they have fewer aps than Apple but they have amazing and useful apps and it’s increasing every hour.

Apple’s iPhone will be dead soon. If you don’t believe me, watch the sales going down. Windows Mobile 7 will compete for sure BUT finally, it has to loose anyways. Microsoft doesn’t have the consumers DNA and doesn’t know what people really want. So, my final thoughts:

“Google will Rule the Mobile Phone Market.” GOOGLE IS THE WINNER!!!

In the Web 2.0 Summit, the world’s largest manufacturer demonstrated corporate social networks and more personalized features of the Internet.Intel CEO Paul Otellini (Paul Otellini) last Thursday at the Web 2.0 Summit, said Intel has joined a white-hot trend of corporate social networks. Otellini showed off its “Enterprise 2.0″ model of social networks, he said that Intel would develop a substitute for consumer services, including as Facebook and MySpace, the social networking companies are ready to accept the necessary security and management capabilities. He also demonstrated the future of a “personal Internet”, is based on Intel and services using mobile devices.Otellini demonstrated a prototype of the social networking system to help new employees even though the company familiar with the environment. For example, my colleagues can show photos and profiles can also provide a variety of links. The new staff quickly familiar with their team, the network’s understanding of the projects and colleagues familiar with the company. It also integrates a comprehensive work calendar, instant messaging tools, video, voice and e-mail and so on to facilitate the exchange and sharing of documents. Otellini said that this product is designed to allow users access to learning, and as time goes on, the user will be proactive to provide more relevant information.Although some companies have launched social networking services for groups of users to business users is, however, Otellini said that so far, we have also not been able to network widely used in the workplace.Otellini to many Web developers and entrepreneurs referred to the speech: “IT managers need for security and management type. I think this is a huge, and has not been opened up business opportunities. Users need to solve the problem was. In the Firewalls, many of the Web 2.0 remains to be done. I am optimistic and believe that this is a great opportunity. “President of the Web 2.0 Summit in San Francisco, the Federal founder of the media (John Battelle) also said that he planned to Facebook founder and CEO Mark Kebo Ge (Mark Zuckerberg) put forward the following questions, and that is not why Facebook U.S. companies to open?Otellini spoke, a stage of Intel’s employees demonstrated a product. He was a simulation of a typical scene: a passenger travel in China, but it does not recognize Chinese characters in front of the restaurant. He used his own mobile devices in the future to take these characters, these characters will soon be translated into English. In the second show, this mobile devices in the future to the supermarket in a toy camera, then there have been a series of content, including other clients use the new toy pictures, toys and so on the price.Otellini said that this mobile device operating principle is actually a hidden in the auditorium of the adoption of Intel’s desktop chips. But he predicts that by 2010 or 2011, Intel will be able to produce today compared to the performance of these desktop chips for mobile, wireless devices can be completely independent of the power of their play.Butler proposed that if the mobile chip functions so strong, then the battery on the request will be high. Otellini replied: “The battery problem, of course, we also took into account. We are trying to adopt ARM chips in the Intel architecture and power to consider the compatibility and functionality.”In talking about the iPhone, Otellini said that this is a historic device, but also change people’s expectations. He also said that he and his family are using the iPhone. Since Apple and AT & T after the successful launch of the iPhone, and other carriers have tried to contact Intel to develop more competitive products. Android mobile operating system and Intel may be able to launch a similar competition and Apple products.
