SEO – The Downfall Of SEO Content

SEO – The Downfall Of SEO Content

You can search engine optimize your website or blog all you want with keyword rich copy but if the information you are providing is stale, repetitive, robotic or plagiarized then you are not likely to attract many visitors. Furthermore most search engine spiders and robots will penalize you for plagiarizing and rewriting content from elsewhere by not including your pages in its search engines.

Another reason that your SEO content could be failing is not necessarily that you have committed the sin of plagiarism or being out of touch, but you may have chosen to search engine optimize copy for a product that has a glutted market. If a lot of people are writing about the product then it means you have failed to properly define your niche market in terms of how it will make a profit. Trying to make a profit in a glutted market is often useless and it is also a bane to SEO marketing as the keywords that are used to market glutted products are often too general and too popular to bring you the targeted customers that you need.

Sometimes the problem is that you have identified yourself as some kind of online consultant or guru but then somehow did not live up to the expectation of the people who have visited your site. A simple mistake in your SEO, niche language or keywords (or even a simple spelling mistake!) could have many people turned right off of your site. You might have also hired a ghostwriter who knows nothing about their assigned topic and you have no idea that your book is plagiarized from sources all over the web. Who wants to pay for information that they can already get on the World Wide Web for free?

Always remember that SEO selling always has to do with your credibility. Trying to sell things with a web page full of innocuous advice or copy full of nonsensical keywords never works.

What is Click Fraud and the Downfall of Google?

Internet marketers facing higher advertising fees on search networks are becoming increasingly concerned about a form of online fraud that was thought to have been contained years ago. The practice, known as “click fraud,” began in the early days of the Internet’s mainstream popularity with programs that automatically surfed Web sites to increase traffic figures. This led companies to develop policing technologies touted as antidotes to the problem. But some marketing executives estimate that up to 50 percent of fees in certain advertising categories continue to be based on non-existent consumers in today’s search industry. Sam Frits berg of ArticleDash.com states that the fraud has reached proportions that would shatter Goggles stock in half, overnight, were they more widely known. To know more go to www.adsense-income-exposed.com.”We continue to detect click fraud, especially with Google’s Adwords and Adsense programs, and the numbers grow each and every month.” says Sam. “I wouldn’t be surprised if many of the advertiser horror stories are in fact true and there are people who make thousands a week committing pay per click fraud by clicking on the ads served on their own website for commission.” adds Sam Frits burg. In one recent example of the problem, law enforcement officials say a California man created a software program that he claimed could let spammers bilk Google out of millions of dollars in fraudulent clicks. Authorities said he was arrested while trying to blackmail Google for US$150,000 to hand over the program. He was indicted by a California jury in June. Matt Parallax, chief of the San Jose branch of the US Attorney’s Office in Northern California, said that case was “not unique.” The problem “is certainly not shrinking, and we’re ready to prosecute people,” said Parallax, whose office handled the Google case. Click fraud is perpetrated in both automated and human ways. The most common method is the use of online robots, or “bots,” programmed to click on advertisers’ links that are displayed on Web sites or listed in search queries. A growing alternative employs low-cost workers who are hired in China, India and other countries to click on text links and other ads. A third form of fraud takes place when employees of companies click on rivals’ ads to deplete their marketing budgets and skew search results. “Click fraud not only is used to attack competition, but as a rip off by publishers who click on their own ads, the ones being served up on their own websites, in an effort to steal advertising dollars by the click”, says Sam of ArticleDash.com. “Our solution to this model is to offer webmasters free organic search engine optimization, but in a way that helps the net rather than promoting the current fraud Google is making billions from.”Although the extent of click fraud is impossible to measure with any certainty, its persistence has exposed a fundamental weakness in the promising business of Internet search marketing. Google is tight lipped and has declined to comment.”It’s hard to tell how big the problem is, but people are looking at it closer and closer as the cost of search advertising goes up,” said John Squire, vice president of business development of Core metrics, a Web analytics firm. “Click fraud is a fin sticking out of the water: You’re not sure if it’s a great white shark or a dolphin.” Maybe Article Dash is on to something here. Maybe organic is the way to go after all.Unlike advertising in traditional media such as billboards and print publications, “cost per click” Internet ads displayed with specific keyword searches have been promoted as a definitive way for companies to gauge their exposure to potential customers. As a result, US sales from advertiser-paid search results are expected to grow 25 percent this year to $3.2 billion, up from $2.5 billion in 2003, according to research firm marketer. From 2002 to 2003, the market rose by 175 percent. “As more advertisers have competed for desirable keywords in their industries, the cost for clicks has risen too.” Sam of ArticleDash.com continues, “On average, advertisers are paying 45 cents per click this year, according to financial analysts, up from 40 cents in 2003 and 30 cents in the second quarter of 2002. In certain sectors, such as travel, legal advice and gaming, the cost can reach several dollars per click.” The implications are indeed disturbing. But marketing executives say click fraud is pervasive among affiliates of search leaders Google, Yahoo-owned Overture Services and FindWhat.com. In a typical affiliation, any Web publisher can become a partner of these large networks by displaying their paid links on a Web page or within its own search results and then share in the profits with every click. “A common practice is the use of proxies, where by tricking Google into thinking the click is originating from another computer, possibly in another country and the click fraud artist… more webmasters than you think… Walks away with a handsome undeserved profit.” says Sam. “There’s a fatal flaw in the cost-per-click model because a ton of marketing dollars can be depleted in a fraction of a second,” said Jessie Stricchiola, president of Alchemist Media, a search-engine marketing firm based in Los Angeles that specializes in fraud protection. “Technology is continuing to be developed that can exploit this pricing model at incredibly high volumes.” Google’s AnswerGoogle declined an interview for this report, but the company said in a statement that it has been “the target of individuals and entities using some of the most advanced spam techniques for years for more details you can login to www.guardadsense.com. We have applied what we have learned with search to the click fraud problem and employ a dedicated team and proprietary technology to analyze clicks.” Many disagree, however, and claim that the pay per click industry is doomed. Organic Optimization a la ArticleDash.com seems to be the next big thing, and at least this time the risk is limited and the free upside results seems unlimited.

The Internet Marketers Downfall

For those out there attempting to make money online through marketing a website or blog there are a couple of things to stay away from.  You must remember that website marketing is an art mixed in with a little science and should not be underestimated.  When you are new to the online world getting to the first page of Google or social media websites may seem like an impossible task, but if you stick with it and never stop learning it is a task that is very possible.  One of the biggest reasons people fail online are they have the misconception that the web is full of money ready for the taking.  This was true for me and the biggest reason was from all the TV commercials that talked about making millions within weeks.  I fell for one of these scams and though I was a little upset getting a taste of being a webmaster led to me learning html, css, javascript, and other web languages which helped me create a web presence which earns me a couple thousand monthly.  Now you must realize this is after years of hard work and learning so do not expect to become rich when starting an online endeavor.  You must remember that when creating your website or blog there will be millions of others out there willing to do anything for the traffic that you are getting.

The first big mistake that the majority of webmasters make which usually lead to them giving up on whatever they are trying to do is time.  For anyone trying to work from home you must realize that the websites on top of Google have already built their foundation of backlinks and now do not need to worry about constantly marketing their website.  You on the other hand should be working tirelessly on the promotion of your online presence, but with a different state of mind from what you would have at a job in the real world.  How the majority of people have been programmed is a work day from 9-5 where you will be paid for the hours you work.  If you want to make it online this philosophy will have to go out the window.  If you want to make even a little money you will need to work harder than the thousands of others within your niche and take the first six months as a building period which you will not receive one dime.  Now something that is really cool about the work you do online promoting your site and building links is the fact that it pays off for as long as you work online.  For example when I submitted my website to a thousand directories years and years later when I check my backlinks I notice those are still there.  So what does this mean for you.  It means that after you have put in the work to reach the top page of Google you can finally relax and only do a fraction of the work to stay on top.

The second thing that webmasters should attempt to stay away from is black hat and spamming techniques.  When you first become a webmaster you realize that it is a battle with the others online with you and the fight is never ending.  Occasionally webmasters find themselves willing to do anything for a few backlinks and this included spamming or placing your URL where it is not wanted for the purpose of gaining rank within the SERPs.  Do not do this, if you really want to make it online you do not want to cut off your resources which is what you are doing by gaining the hate from other webmasters and bloggers.  Webmasters will sometimes also use techniques such as attempting to fool the search engines or hurt other websites by placing them on the bad places online.  If you decide to take this route then do not be surprised when it happens to you or when Google bans you from their SERPs.  It takes hard work to get to the top and pays very well so if you would like to make it to the top of Google then take your time and do it right you will be paid off in the end.  If you would like to read more articles like this one feel free at website promotion
