I recently signed up for Gilt Groupe’s fashion e-mail newsletter, as well as the company’s Jetsetter’s newsletter. Both do a great job to build community and move inventory.

A magnitude-7.2 earthquake shook Baja California. It was felt from San Diego to Mexicali to Phoenix. There was some damage, but thankfully, casualties were low.

Creating Communities For Twitter Marketing

If you were to analyze your buyers and your clients at this given moment you would observer something very intriguing – they are all dissipated. The people who buy your products don’t connect with one another, they feel alone and it’s quite easy to lose them.

Why do you think TV shows have so many real fans? Because they interact with one another. They have forum, blogs and may other means of interacting. If they would think they are the only ones watching that series they would feel like losers, feel lonely and stop watching.

As a marketer you first of all want to attract clients, but even more you want and need to keep the ones which you already have. Losing a client is much worse than attracting none. When you;re using traditional marketing strategies it’s quite hard to stick with your fans. But this is where Twitter comes in!

With Twitter all your followers see each other, interact with one another and maybe even start following each other. What can be better than that? Imagine two of your clients talking. One has just purchased something from you. Any discussion will lead to the other wanting to but the product as well. Why? Because the first one wants to show off. He is proud of his new acquisition and he wants to let everyone know that he’s got something new. So he will never say “Aww.. This thing I’ve bought is lame.”. You will much rather hear him exaggerating the features he likes than talking about the ones which he doesn’t. So what Twitter does for you is make people sell your products for you.

On the short term you will increase your sales significantly. Each new sale will usually attract other sales as well and so on. So you will definitely see an improvement there. You will also get in contact with the people buying from you. You can find out what they like and what they don’t. You will know exactly what the market wants and needs and which features of your products you should change.

On the long term you will keep your fans together in a community and this way you will lower the probability of actually losing them. Nothing can maintain fondness like bonding and association. Think of a great leader. If people who like that leader wouldn’t organize and talk to each other they would end up losing interest in that person.

Use Twitter as a marketing tool and you will obtain great results both for the short term and the long term, results which would otherwise be unachievable. Twitter marketing is about minimizing your investment and maximizing your results. So start building your community!
