Content is King When it Comes to Internet Marketing

Now, before you set up a home based internet marketing business, there are many things I think anyone should and must consider. I won’t lie to you, it isn’t all peaches and creams and there are people who crash and burn within a few months of quitting their jobs and pinning their high hopes on making a fortune online. But I will tell you this, making good money from a home based internet marketing business is real and it’s generating income for people all over the world for help visit www.squeeze-page-profits.com. The difference between the two, those who succeed and those who did not, in essence, since you are reading this article, the difference between US and THEM, is that we are or will be prepared before we dive in.

There are many forms of internet marketing business and you have to understand these different forms before you start anything. From direct marketing, website marketing, fax marketing and even the grossly popular affiliate marketing, each of them has their own strengths and weaknesses for you to capitalize upon and avoid like the plague. I think the most important thing about this, whether you are going to do this independently or join any one of the thousands of internet based companies online who hire home sourced marketing managers is that you must have a comfortable joy for selling and have an eye upon trends. The keyword here is volume and driving that volume on the net to view your page, know your product and get familiar with your brand – enough for them to be influenced the right way in a purchasing decision.

The basics must be there. Content is king when it comes to internet marketing and it is all about the sales copy, how the deal is worded, what you can offer, the brand you bring to the table and most importantly; reputation. The internet is like the constant potential spark to make or break you and bad reps get around faster than a basket full of bad eggs in a small room. You must also realize the potential of the internet and how you can leverage on everything it has to offer to get sales across for help visit www.website-convertion-secrets.com. This means you must have an understanding of using every channel, direct or indirect to sell your product, build highly targeted list that will have that added inclination to buy your product. Product and market are like horse and carriage, and if you know the mechanics of both and how to penetrate any market with a product designed for it, you have on your hands a winning formula.

Also, don’t forget that you must be comfortable with the product. This knowledge or lack of it will be reflected in a hesitant email, an unsure sales copy or worse – a stuttered and jittery tale sales engagement. Be confident in what you sell and most importantly, you must love what you sell. Before you sign on, be comfortable with the brand and you will find selling it all that much easier. There are so many more things you must know – but at least know these basics, the basics that could mean a successful heads up before you set up a home based internet marketing business.

Sharpening Your Google AdWords Home Business Campaign Comes With Experience

When you find yourself in a position to search out information online, where would you begin your research? I’m guessing you’ve said Google. There is little doubt that Google is the 800 lbs gorilla of search engines – by far one of the most popular and most used web sites worldwide. It’s time for you, as a home based business owner, to fully embrace Google and use what is commonly referred to as the greatest marketing and advertising tool ever created: AdWords.
There are many, many wonderful resources that have been written and published on Google AdWords best practices. So, I am not going to reinvent the wheel in this article. What I would like to do is discuss a number of the AdWords idiosyncrasies I’ve discovered on my own that I have not seen discussed in any other article. These are just things you should be aware of and keep in mind when setting up an AdWords account of your own.
Firstly, I’d just like to mention that becoming proficient in Google AdWords is very similar to becoming a good auto mechanic – you can read all the books and articles you want on AdWords but you’re never going to really learn it or become proficient at it until you roll up your sleeves and get your “hands dirty”.
In the same way a mechanic may have attended school and has read many books on the subject of cars and engines, he’s not an actual mechanic until he gets his hands dirty and actually works on an automobile.
Having said that, here are 4 things I’ve discovered about AdWords only after I’d started using it:
1) Google will not allow “non-standard punctuation” in any of your ads. Non-standard punctuation is described as: tilde (~), asterisk (*) or pipe (|). The funny thing is though, I found this out when I ran an ad that did not contain any of these elements. The ad I tried to run had a headline which read: “Lost Job? So What!”
Although I was not able to see how or where a question mark or exclamation point would be considered “Non-standard punctuation”, I had to change the exclamation point to a period for the ad to be accepted. I’m pretty sure I’ve even seen this exact punctuation in other ads in the past. But, Google occasionally changes their rules so you just need to make sure you’re always operating within acceptable AdWords parameters.
2) Google will not allow excessive punctuation such as multiple exclamation points (!!!). I ran an ad one time with a point I wanted to place great emphasis on and chose to do so with three exclamation points. Doing so violated an AdWords policy and I had to change my ad to reflect a single exclamation point.
3) Including a direct call to action within your ad is a no-no. Statements such as “click here” or “go there now” are not allowed in your ads. You can work around this one by saying something like “details on next page” within the advertisement.
4) When setting up your ad, you will enter both a display web address and a destination web address. The Google user will not see the destination address, they will only see the display web address in your ad. The destination address is where the user will be taken if they click on your link. The display web address must be an actual, working web address.
This may make loads of sense on the surface. After all, why would you ever want to display anything BUT a working web address? Well, consider this: I have a web site I was promoting in one of my AdWords accounts. The actual web address being promoted is www.RidForeclosure.com but, I chose to hyphenate the displayed address just to make it easier for the user to read. I figured it was easier to read www.Rid-Foreclosure.com. Of course, in the event my link was clicked on, the user would’ve been taken to my real web site (address without the hyphen). That all kinda makes sense, doesn’t it?
But, because my actual site address is not hyphenated the ad was rejected. Instead of www.RidForeclosure.com I wanted it to display as www.Rid-Foreclosure.com but Google found this to be unacceptable.
The above are only a few examples of the things I’d learned about Google AdWords that only experience had taught me. That is what I meant when I said earlier that you will only become really proficient with AdWords after you begin using it.
I am sure there may be many other nuances of AdWords that I am not yet familiar with that I’ll discover over time. Plus, Google changes their rules and requirements from time to time so what was OK yesterday may not necessarily be so today.
Setting up a really effective, hard hitting AdWords campaign is as much an art as it is a science. Ongoing education, use and discovery are what I’ve found to be three key components to effectively using my Google AdWords account.
For those who may be intimidated or overwhelmed by it all, you may want to work with a Google AdWords consultant to help you to set up your first account. Consultants offer experience based on a mixture of research, training and, most important, real-world, hands-on experience. They understand their clients’ needs and dispense advice when it’s called for. If you plan to hire a consultant, don’t wait too long. In general, you should provide yourself with as much lead time as possible. The success of your company depends on your readiness to fully embrace and use all of the wonderful technologies we have at our disposal today.
The two things a home based business entrepreneur does not have a disposal amount of are time and money. Use both of these resources wisely, and to your fullest advantage, and watch your business sore to new heights.

Apple Iphone – Style, Substance – Which Comes First?

As I have recently upgrade, I had no real interest in purchasing the Apple iPhone but I thought (just like everyone else) that I may as well see what all the hoo-ha is about.

The build and design of the iPhone is typical of Apple in general – sleek, stylish and free of any unnecessary extras that would have spoilt the designer’s hard work.

After playing around with the much-hyped user Interface (or UI), I can say with a certain degree of conviction that the various positive comments bestowed upon it are completely deserved. Apple has transformed basic user-interfaces the same way they transformed the portable music player with the iPod back in 2001, and the speed of the UI will shame many other manufacturers and if it doesn’t, it should. There’s no lag, glitches or slowdown on evidence, which is highly commendable. Hopefully this is a taste of things to come.

After that undoubted highpoint, it’s all downhill. The camera performance is frankly for the price, highly disappointing. Only 2MP and the lack of settings (flash, video or otherwise) is below average in the current cameraphone market, and while the performance is okay the features employed are far too lacklustre to have any chance of registering amongst the big boys of the industry.

The messaging functions also leave a lot to be desired. It’s not possible to send a message to more than one recipient at a time due to some bizarre kink in the firmware and picture messaging has also been left out. Without these 2 options the iPhone is at risk of being out-of date in terms of features as soon as it has been released. Definitely a worry for a company meant to be on the cutting edge.

Update:

The issue with the inability to send messages to multiple recipients does actually now appear to have been resolved thanks to an Apple firmware update, but it should have been in from the beginning though.

As is rightfully expected, the music features are commendable. Employing Apple’s new ‘Cover Flow’ music browser, it’s a dream to work with and cannot be faulted, simple as that. With Wi-fi built in, purchases can be made on iTunes whenever a suitable connection is available, but the lack of 3G does halts its effectiveness – another glaring omission.

In conclusion, Apple’s iPhone is an above average mobile phone whose key selling point is the remarkably simple interface, but the limitations offered by the limited messaging and camera features do spoil the ‘experience’ somewhat. Worse still is the purchasing limitations which mean to get an iPhone, you have to sign up to an 18-month contract, have a strict choice of 2 tariffs (on only 1 network) and also have to fork out £269 for the phone itself.

As great to use as the iPhone undoubtedly is, these limitations mean that my decision to go elsewhere has been justified. It’s a great gadget, just not quite the all-conquering multimedia experience that Apple would have us believe, but try one for yourself and see if it seduces you as it has so many others. Worth looking out for though will be the next iPhone that’s release as its sure to have given Apple more time to modify the menus and add some more goodies.

My Pay Per Click Adword Advertising On Google All Comes From Its “content Network.” Is This As Good?

I get very few impressions of the ad on Google itself appearing by relevant keywords which is ideally what I want. Most appear on its “network” – is its network as relevant and would my ads still appear to just the UK as I want it?

Website Marketing Before the Web Designer Comes: 5 Essential Strategy Questions

Right after deciding, “I need a website,” clients often say, “I need a web designer!” Actually, before even whispering the 2 little words “web design,” you need to answer these five questions. The answers will change the way you relate to your web designer (and maybe you will realize you don’t need one).

(1) What is the purpose of your website? Suppose you primarily market a professional service through face-to-face networking and live referrals. Your website will look different from a marketer who sells info products to buyers all over the world.

When you’re well-known through face-to-face contacts, your website serve as an additional source of information to potential customers. You may need only a basic “calling card” site: a list of contact information, coming appearances and basic brochure copy. But you’ll need to use copywriting style because visitors read differently on the web than they do in print.

But suppose your website is your primary revenue source. In that case, you’ll need to direct visitors to your “for sale” section and come up with a plan to collect money.

(2) Who will be your ideal target market? Can they afford your services? Where do they shop?

Most of us plunge into a business without going deeply into this question. One career coach wanted to work with clients who were unemployed. He soon realized that unemployed people need to think first about putting food on the table. They were looking for advice only from sources where they didn’t have to pay.

Some markets just don’t shop on the Internet. They go offline. They like to visit malls and brick and mortar stores. They may visit your website for background info but they’ll buy from someone they can see face-to-face.

(3) What action do you want visitors to take? Do you want them to sign up for a consultation, call you for an appointment, buy a product or sign up for your ezine?

Your home page copy should motivate your visitors to take one simple action. If they sign up for your ezine and then leave, you’ve reached success.

Make it easy for visitors to take this action. More than once, I’ve had to prowl through pages on a website trying to figure out how to buy a product, subscribe to an ezine or attend a teleseminar.

(4) How will you maintain your site? Even your static pages need to be updated regularly if you’re going to maintain a credible presence.

Many new website owners budget the cost of web design and a year of web hosting. But that’s only the beginning. A website that’s unchanged will grow cobwebs. It’s easy to tell when you’ve landed on a website where nobody’s home. Something’s broken. The whole place looks abandoned.

You’ll need to replace broken links, fix spelling errors, add updates to your schedule, and a whole lot more. And in my experience, your website will look different after five or six months. You’ve changed. Your market has changed. You’ve got new products, services and messages.

That’s why I say, “You need to become your own web designer, marry your web designer, or be prepared to pay.” Fortunately, in today’s world, you can create a website where making a change is as easy as sending an email. I would not settle for less.

(5) How will you promote your site? The number one question I get is, “How do I attract traffic to my site?”

A website without promotion is like a 747 flying around the world without any passengers: expensive and useless. You probably don’t need expensive, esoteric SEO strategies. Article marketing, blogs and social marketing can attract all the traffic you need in many markets.

(6) How will you convert browsers to buyers? Your message has to motivate visitors – fast. When visitors land on your home page, you have 5 seconds to hook them. When they land on your sales page, they are asking, “What’s In It For Me?”

That’s why many top Internet marketing gurus have invested in copywriting and copywriting training. Changing your content will have a powerful effect on your sales, more than any other factor. Your design functions only to help visitors read your content.

(7) How will you grow your website with your business? Very few businesses look the same after 6 months, a year or 2 years. I have seen people start as dog trainers and end up as business consultants (or vice versa).

Change means staying connected to your market. You’ll need to keep testing and to find systematic ways to stay connected. You can use social marketing, certain types of teleclasses, and the right kind of testing.
