Location, Location, Location: How to Determine if a Specific Franchise Will Work in Your Area

Location, Location, Location: How to Determine if a Specific Franchise Will Work in Your Area

It is essential, as part of your franchise education, to compare your franchise territory to other territories in the system. Here are some particular areas to investigate.

Total population numbers

The majority of franchises are sold by territory. The franchisor sets the territory size asked to support that particular franchise. Diligent franchisors will not knowingly sell a territory that doesn’t have the population numbers to support their franchise. But they will sell territories that fit their minimum criteria. If you are purchasing one of those marginal territories, you want to find out that up front, and you want to determine if the territory size is expected to increase or decrease in the foreseeable future. Ask the franchisor for the names of franchisees whose territories are similar in size to the territory you are considering. Call them and find out how successful they are.

Population density

Ask the franchisor for the standard radius for appealing customers. Is it 2 miles? 10 miles? Then ask for the names of franchisees who have population densities comparable to the densities in the territory you are considering. Call them to find out how successful they are.

Demographics

A futurist named Andrew Zolli summarized the importance of demographics:

“You can’t understand the future without demographics. The composition of a society – whether its citizens are old or young, prosperous or declining, rural or urban – shapes every aspect of civic life, from politics, economics, and culture to the kinds of products, services, and businesses that are likely to succeed or fail. Demographics isn’t destiny, but it’s close.”1

When you analyse the demographics of your territory, you will be weighing a number of factors, potentially including gender, race, age, income, disabilities, education, home ownership, number and value of single-family homes, and employment status. Will your franchise draw  a broad demographic or does it have specific appeal? If the franchise attends to a market segment – say students, wealthy homeowners, or small business owners, for example, does the territory you’re looking at have enough of those customers? Is their average income and education level in-line with the franchises typical customer’s income and education? Ask the franchisor which territories are similar in terms of demographics. Call them and find out how successful they are.

Do Your Own Research to Get the Best Franchise Information

In addition to talking to  existing franchisees, do your own research on current and projected population totals, population density, and demographics, including economic trends. You should be able to find information on line. Go to  your local reference librarian to check what s/he has available. Additionally, your state may offer free services.

Don’t do the mistake of establishing a franchise purchasing decision on your level of enthusiasm or on what you personally believe will work. Make certain you have a market, and that the market is expected to stay the same or improve over the next 10 years (10 years is a common franchise contract term).

If you are disposed to work hard, becoming a franchise owner can help you attain your financial and lifestyle goals. Just be sure to eliminate as much risk as possible. Do your research before you sign on the dotted line.

Learn the Best SEO Help and Tips in the Pittsburgh Area

Learn the Best SEO Help and Tips in the Pittsburgh Area

SEO, or search engine optimization, is a somewhat new Internet-related field that deals with online marketing. A SEO company combines the use of targeted keywords, SEO copywriting and external link building to help Internet search engines find and index your site. SEO marketing is a growing field of business, and many Pennsylvania colleges and technical schools now offer SEO training degrees in Pittsburgh.

There are many different components that make up effective search engine optimization. Simply using one or two of them will help your site, but combining several SEO marketing techniques is much more effective.

Produce great content. Writing engaging content that is both keyword-friendly and interesting to your readers helps people find your site. It also keeps viewers returning to your site for more information. An SEO business should strive to produce the best and most captivating material.
Avoid keyword stuffing. Using too many keywords together may get your site flagged or banned by Google search robots. It may initially boost your rankings for a temporary period of time, but this black-hat SEO technique will ultimately hurt your page. This is a basic rule of SEO training.
Be specific. Using specific phrases that are closely targeted to your audience is more effective than being vague or too general. “Star Wars fan” is much better than “Star Wars.”
Look for ways to build external links. Seek out Web sites with high page rankings and ask the site’s moderator if you can exchange links. Google bots rate links according to the value of their page rank, so having dozens of links from a site with a low page rank or lots of spam won’t help your site.
Produce original material. An SEO business should never steal content from other Web sites. It also helps if your blog or Web site has original content that is somewhat unique and of interest to readers.
Use social bookmarking sites. Social bookmarking sites like Bringr, Digg and and Propeller help advertise your site to thousands of Web viewers.
Comment on DoFollow blogs. A Pittsburgh SEO company can increase rankings by commenting on DoFollow blogs, which helps increase links to a site.
Link to related sites. If your site is about video games, you should attempt to link to other sites that discuss the same topic.
Build your links slowly. Google may suspect that you are cheating if you suddenly obtain hundreds of links in a short span of time. You should also stay away from purchasing links.
Add new content on a regular basis. Readers will not come back if you only add one new entry every few months. Most people do not have the time to be full-time bloggers, but adding one or two quality entries a week is more effective than writing daily entries that only consist of a few sentences.
Make your content the right length. Ideally, each of your Web pages should be no less than 350 words.

Microsoft Dynamics Gp Reseller in La and San Diego Metropolitan Area, California

Microsoft Dynamics GP fits to mid-size and larger businesses in Southern California: Los Angeles, Orange County, San Diego.  Our company serves you locally from the office in Carlsbad, north of San Diego and just South of Orange County.  Great Plains implementation methodology review:

1.       GP software licenses sale.  You can only purchase Dynamics GP licenses through GP VAR or certified partner.  Each GP partner or ISV has unique set of skills and specializations, so you should do your MBS partner selection appropriately.  If your company is local business in Southern CA, then the first criteria might be finding local Microsoft Great Plains Reseller.  However if your ERP implementation requires custom logic and complex integration, you can make technical expertise more important in selection

2.       Implementation phases.  Typical implementation is divided into several phases: GP installation, initial data conversion or entering beginning balances, user training (often precise, as your business processes dictate), switching to production mode (sometimes customers prefer running legacy accounting and newly implemented GP in parallel for one month to compare results)

3.       Integrations and EDI.  As new ERP should coexist with your remaining legacy applications, integrating often is a plan.  In GP you have following integration tools: GP Integration Manager, eConnect, SQL Stored Procedures, Great Plains Dexterity (which is also one of the major tolls for customizations).  Simple Electronic Document Interchange could be realized via SQL Stored Procedures with precise field formatting

4.       Alba Spectrum specialization.  Our company is strong in technology challenging projects, where you need advanced custom programming, cross- platform integrations and reporting.  We also carry strong industry expertise and advise on ERP platform selection: GP, SAP Business One, MS CRM, etc.  For Southern CA area, our local consultants are bilingual and speak English and Spanish, meaning that we are good fit if you are doing business across the border in Maquiladora manufacturing belt or downstate Mexico

Social Media Marketing Training For Toronto and Area Businesses

If you operate a business in a city as large as Toronto, you know how hard it is to stand out from the crowd. Social media marketing (SMM) can give you the edge.

With a population of over 5 million in the GTA, the market is huge, but so is the competition. Social media marketing offers an affordable and relatively easy marketing solution. The key is to learn how to do it right. Social media marketing training can teach you how to harness the power of social media.

The Value of Social Media Marketing

Social media marketing is a multi-channel approach to marketing. It uses social media sites, social bookmarking, blogging and articles to help generate interest in your business. It’s really like the next incarnation of word-of-mouth marketing. Instead of people chatting about you, they are linking to you and sharing those links with friends.

Consider an example:

• A Toronto marketing company has a blog. The blog appears on the company’s Website, with posts linking to other pages on the company’s site. People using Google to find information about Toronto marketing firms stumble on a blog post, which links them to the company’s site.

• The company has a Facebook page. It adds blog posts as notes on its Facebook page. People finding the company through Facebook share the blog posts with other Facebook users. Some users seek out the blog for more information, and find their way to the company’s main site.

• The company also writes a series of articles and posts them in an online article database. These articles also link to the company’s site and appear in Google search results.

• The company’s articles and blog posts are included on a social bookmarking site, increasing the chances of links being shared.

None of these initiatives have cost the company money, yet they have increased the company’s inbound links and attracted interested prospects. They have also led people to share links to their blog posts and articles, which, in turn, link to their main site.

Start With Social Media Marketing Training

Now that your interest in social media marketing is piqued, you’re probably wondering how to get started.

Training is the key. Without it, you’ll be hopelessly lost in a sea of social media sites, and probably exhaust yourself trying to keep up with them all.

With social media marketing training, you can learn which sites and techniques are best for your business. You can develop a strategy to ensure your social media marketing is manageable. You can create an editorial schedule for your blog posts and articles, so you know what you are writing about and when you need to post. (Fresh content is critical to success in SMM.) You can learn all about RSS, and the difference between social networking and social bookmarking. You can also learn some basics about optimizing your content to attract targeted traffic to your business.

An investment in social media marketing training will pay off immediately. Don’t get lost in the shuffle of Toronto businesses. Get started with social media marketing today and get ahead of the competition.
