How To Attract Buyers Not Browsers Using Effective Keyword Research!

Do you get excited because you have so many people clicking through to your site? Well that’s great but remember that not every click is a good click! You want to attract buyers not browsers to your online business who are ready with credit card in hand.

Keywords are the Holy Grail in marketing and they must be treated as such. Because the market for online businesses or network marketing is very extensive and you are competing for the same market, the competition is huge. So what you need is effective keyword research and it will be your number one task each day.

Particularly with organic search engines you have to look at the keywords through google eyes. This is why you need to drill down deep with your keywords and the deeper the hole the more targeted your keywords will be.

Try to understand the intention of the searcher, what they are typing in is usually just the top layer of what they are really looking for, so dig deeper, people want a solution to their problem and it’s their emotions that decide whether they buy or not.

So start by determining your market. Who do you want to work with? This is really important to firstly define your market. The best way to determine this is to choose an area that you have knowledge and experience in so you can carve out your own piece of real estate in that particular niche.

Use google’s free keyword search tool to analyse your chosen market by applying a few of the following strategies:

Type in a keyword in phrase match that you think a searcher would use and see what sort of traffic and volume it gets, 350,000 to 500,000 is about what you are looking for.
Choose 10 keywords that come within that category and then type each of those into the tool in both broad and phrase match and look for the ones that have the above traffic.
Use ‘geographical modifiers’ by adding a particular area at the end of your keyword eg. ‘tennis coach winchester’
Use ‘expert verbage’ like brand names eg. ‘shirts Ralph Lauren’
Remember to do your research on these keywords to see what kind of volume and number of searches they are generating.

You can keep drilling down in your niche market, niche within niche to really pin down the most popular keywords. This requires time but it is time well spent because when you find 2 or 3 relevant keywords and build out from there, you will have significantly better results and attract buyers rather than browsers to your landing page.
