Autoresponder is just a piece of attachment to the website, or perhaps an inbox, that generates a reply automatically and sends it to the customer who has just mailed. But the way you treat autoreponders decides the way it helps you… in your business. Here are a few things that can make them work more usefully…

1. The reply generated by auto responders must be clear in itself. You have used autoresponder to have your clients clear and acknowledged. SO, don’t make your replies in such a way that it is ambiguous and confuses your client.

2. The autoresponders function to help you and that does not mean that it acts like you. So gets your hands onto replying if possible. This gets a good impression in client more than it does when an autoresponder like message is received.

3. With all the spam messages surrounding your client, he should not think that this is another such irritable. Make the reply nice and compact and include references as to why the message was sent to the e-mail id. There are also third party autoresponders that has genuine quality and passes even the hardest spam tests. Make use of them if you can, to be on the safer side.

4. When you have an autoresponder for a mailing list, the users of which mostly seek clarifications, it best to have an auto responder directing them to FAQ, details page of your website.

5. The autoresponders set to mail at certain intervals of time should have their time of sending aptly set. If you just say “send every Wednesday”, it probably sends them at 12 AM. This creates a bad impression for the message and product if at all some customer sees it.

6. The autoresponders for just saying you will contact them in person later is quite good to have but the thing you are expressing should be said in nice polite and respectful words. There are some responders which reply so bad that have the same effect as “I will call you sometime later. Shut up for the time being!” Be careful in selecting the words.

7. Take into consideration the targeted audience you are dealing with. Make a professional response for a reply to an affiliate entrepreneur, and use a kind of cool response for your customers.
