Nokia & Virgin Mobile Launch Nokia 5800 XpressMusic

The recently launched 5800 music phone from Nokia has now been added to Virgin Mobile’s phone portfolio for 2009, the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic was first released back in January of this year and can now be connected to O2, Orange, T-Mobile and Vodafone tariffs.

The Nokia 5800 has also been made available as a pay as you go phone with no contract agreement as well as SIM free so the user can simply use their own SIM card, there is only one more network to pick up the Nokia 5800 in the UK and that is the dedicated 3G network 3 Mobile.

Released alongside this standard red edition is also a blue colour variant as well as a silver edition, both of these models simply exchange the colour of the strip around the outside of the phone to either blue or silver keeping the exact same features, technology and design the same.

The days when mobile phones were used only as the means of communication are gone. The play list in the phone gives you option to store your favorite tracks at one place. The tracks can also be selected on the basis of artist, genre, album and composer. The graphical equalizer in the phone helps to enjoy wide variety of music. There are dedicated keys in the phone that that gives you the access to control the volume and other features. The Music Bar helps to have immediate access to the music player within no time. The integrated speakers in the phone with hi fi and crystal clear sound quality doubles the enjoyment. The FM Radio gives you an additional advantage of enjoying your favorite radio program.

The Camera

The phone has 3.2 MP camera that give good quality images with resolution of 2048 X 1536 pixels. It has Carl Zeiss Optics with 3x Digital zoom. The enhanced camera features of the phone includes Auto focus, DUAL LED Flash for clarity even in low light conditions, multiple flash modes, settings for different white balance modes and others. There is dedicated camera key in the phone that facilitates easy and quick operation of the camera. You can also edit the images taken with the photo editor device present in the phone. The images captured can be directly printed using a compatible picture printer. You can also share your images online with Share on Ovi, Facebook or Flickr.

Video Recording

The video recording has its own charm when compared to still images. Nokia 5800 can record video with resolution count of 640 X 480 pixels at speed of 30 frames per second. The phone has 4x digital video zoom. The video recording formats supported by the phone includes MP4 and 3GP. For enhancing the quality of video there are features for setting video white balance, color tones and scene modes. The video editor in the phone helps to edit the video as per your choice. The videos can also be streamed with 3GPP and CIF. The phone can record about 90 minutes of video which can be varied depending upon the quality and the memory.

Gaming Options

For game lovers Nokia 5800 has 3D Bounce and Global Race to be enjoyed.
Thus Nokia 5800 is an excellent Multimedia Phone with all advance features.

The Nokia 5800 XpressMusic is set to be joined by the manufacturers second touch screen phone later in the year – the Nokia N97 is due for release in June but will demand a far higher price tag than this music orientated device.
