MacBook Pro – First Mac, But Not Beat Windows

I usually just feel like writing something when really motivated (whether good or bad). But, I’m going to be objective with this review because they are certainly not in this Mac “Cult” as I always called before I bought one.

First – touch, look and watch this machine is what catches your eye first. It ‘clearly well built, sturdy and feels similar to a reviewer comparing a German car … It ’s just that I feel to be well put together.

There are some things that take getting used to, compared to a PC. Keyboard shortcuts are a bit ’strange, the only thing I can imagine is that it is to avoid accidental key commands? Getting around the OS is different, but still a bit ‘more natural now after 2 weeks. The machine starts up pretty quickly and I had no problem with the programs as of yet. Although, I really started adding to the machine (in transition). The machine does what it should (and, as expected given the price).

I was worried about the purchase of software I had on Windows, but the Boot Camp utility is fantastic. Makes it easy to partition and manage another Windows operating system (I am using Windows Professional 7). I installed the software, to avoid rebuying the expensive stuff. It ‘was a breeze and guidance from Apple is easy to do that, anyone could do it!

The specifications are pretty good and solid. More than enough for the average user. I have the Adobe programs that work well! Even if you do not know video editing / gaming – but I imagine that will be good.

The battery is incredible. You can probably get the 90-10 advertising in a low power, the application running low state but also when you are on it, it lasts! You get spoiled very easily.

Everything so far has led me to believe that this will last and be consistent with my use of the machine.

For people who hate windows now, there’s some things that come with the territory of buying big PC product (Apple is not huge in terms of number of people who own them) … slower rate in use is common – you have to take care of certain things. Windows 7 is much better than Vista. But I suppose that’s another review …

Anyway … I would suggest anyone interested to make the leap to really use computers often. If you’re a casual user who just goes about the book or the space, e-mail and word processing – save your money! But if you are looking to run heavy applications or have a solid machine and can pony the money, I would say go for it. I hope all the positive support for an almost obsessive Mac is justified and that in future, have questioned the purchase (as I said, its my first Mac)!
