I am starting a small business and creating a website. Does anyone have any recommendations regarding a web hosting service and a good web design software. I do not have programming skills and I am looking for something user friendly. Thanks!

Most web hosting companies will come with some kind of web authoring tool. However, if you want to design a professional looking site, you should use a desktop software such as Dreamweaver. If you are having problem choosing a web hosting to use, I suggest you do the following:
    1. Go to the webhost review sites such as webhostingjury or webhostinggeeks and list down about 3 common top hosting companies.
    2. Next, for each web hosting X, do a “X sucks” search on Google. Read some complaints and see if you may encounter the same problems like them. Some of the complaints may relate to certain groups of users only such as VPS, dedicated server users or resellers. So you may not be affected if you are not from these categories.
    3. Eliminate those hostings you feel uncomfortable with, and look for the best bargain hosting for your money.
You can start with Justhost, Fatcow and InMotion. They are some of the best.
    Good luck.

I recommend one of these: http://www.hosttell.com/
Powweb is on a 50% sale – $3.88/month ($46.56/year), and you get a free domain from them.
Their hosting plan includes web builder, so you can create your site just by drag and drop (without any programming), or you could install Wordpress (easy, one click install from their control panel), choose a theme that you like, and start adding content.

    Kellie,
For those with little to no programming skills, Sandvox from Karelia Software (http://www.sandvox.com) is a great recommendation. Sandvox is a WYSIWYG website builder (what you see is what you get) for Macintosh and is renowned for its ease of use and its ability to create professional web sites.
Sandvox has excellent user and professional reviews and even won the runner-up prize for the Apple Design Award for Best Mac OS X User Experience. Can you say, “user friendly?” Karelia also offers exclusive discounts with several popular hosting services when you purchase Sandvox.
Check out the tutorial screencast at http://www.karelia.com/sandvox/screencas… and if you like what you see, you can even download a free demo.
Best of luck with your business pursuits.

Check My Webbie Hosting’s Business Plan. It includes 15 G disk space, 300 G bandwidth, 100 email accounts with antivirus and spam protection, free domain name, multilingual and customizable control panel, etc. You can also expect very good customer support from them. They are available through phone, and they respond to tickets in less than an hour.
Their Business Plan also include a Site Builder program which you can use to create your own website by just customizing their predesigned templates. Check their templates and their site builder to see if they can help you.
The Business Plan cost only $4.95/month.
