How Long Does It Usually Take To Get Bedroom Furniture? Do Most Stores Have You “order” The Furniture?

I’m in the market for some new bedroom furniture. I’m not necessarily in a hurry to get it, but I am curious about how long I can expect the process to take. I plan on buying from a “showroom” type furniture store, as opposed to a warehouse or clearance center. Plus, I’m getting a king bed and I hear that most stores cater towards customers looking for queens. I guess I will have to “order” the furniture. If you ordered from a store like this, how long did it take?
Also, I did find one set that i like, but i was told they cant deliver for 7-8 weeks due to back order. Is that standard wait time or way too long?

If you really like the set and the price, then I guess it is worth the wait.
I had to wait that long to get the living room sofa I special ordered.
And my bed took even longer but then we had an artist make a special headboard.

If they don’t have your furniture item in stock they always tell you 6- 8 weeks delivery time. Sometimes it comes earlier, but they themselves don’t know the exact delivery date. That’s why they say 6-8 weeks. Once I got something in a month and another time it took the full 8 weeks which felt like forever.
    Good luck.

Most of my furniture comes from Ashley or Ethan Allan show rooms and if they do not have it in stock it does take 1-2 weeks max for it to come in. I had a table custom made for me it took 8 weeks but if something is on back order remember they have to fill all orders on that particular piece of furniture that customers prior to you ordered before they can fill yours. Cant tell you if its “standard” wait time just depends how many other orders need to be filled before they can get to yours.

It does not seem too long to wait, but if you think it is, then ask for Sears or another store to see what they can do for you. Most big reputable stores like Ethan Allen or other brand name stores are a bit pricy, but the service of a shorter time, delivery & set up are worth the price.
Most Mom & Pop furniture stores are usually stocked with the king stores. Good luck!

7-8 weeks are a bit too long. You should be able to expect delivery the longest in 6 weeks. 1-3 weeks is normal.
    Good luck!
