Hello, I Need 2 Redesign An Existing Website Which Contains Php, Sql, Java, Ajax & Html. How? Thanks :)?

Hello, I would like to redesign an existing website in Dreamweaver which contains PHP, SQL, Java, Ajax & Html. The new designs have already been made on paper and usability issues have been sorted out. I just need to make the old site look like the new designs while still insuring all of the existing code in the old site still works. Where should start? Do I first make a template and then just copy small pieces of code in at a time? Or alter the existing pages which contain the code?
Thank you :)

You need to separate the funtionality from the presentation, that is the static HTML layout code from the active technologies.
The problem here is when designers use active technologies to generate the HTML code rather than to generate the functionality.
I create the pages in Dreamweaver and then add in the functionality

you will need to change some of the php files and some of the HTML files as these are the ones that will control how the website looks.
Normally what you would do is create the designs in html then integrate them with the backend the SQL.
so first thing to do is create the Pages in HTML.

I would make a template for the site, and then copy the other code over a bit at a time. Save your work regularly, and test as you go.
