What is your target audience? Your target audience is the group of people no matter the size that has the highest chance of purchasing or hiring you for your services. To find out who your target audience is you just need to ask yourself who is most likely to buy my product. Important factors of defining the target audience include age, gender, race, location, needs, buying history, income and experience navagating the web. The target audience should have no problems understanding or navagating your website. They should have clear direction on what to click to get to the products / services they are the most interested in the quickest.

If you are selling men's business suits, why have pictures of men working construction on your website? I know it sounds simple, but many people miss this boat completely. Don't forget the target audience is the group of people who are expected to visit your website the most or the market being targeted. These people will be viewing the website for a specific reason and it is important to know exactly what they are looking for when they visit the site. How old are they? What is their gender? How much money do they have? Where do they live? A clearly defined purpose or goal of the site as well as an understanding of what visitors want to do or feel when they come to your site will help to identify the target audience.
